- Tonight I bring you 21 terrifying true scary stories to keep you up all night (or fall asleep to, depending on how twisted you are). As well as an extra bonus of three of my favourite fictional horror stories that we've featured on The Tape Library thus year. Get comfortable and lay down in the darkness as the sounds of the crackling fire fill your ears and I tell you over 3 hours of scary stories.
This video is a compilation of some of the most terrifying real life horror stories that people have submitted to The Tape Library archives over the last few months.
If you’ve already listened to all of our entries into The Tape Library up until now then you might be familiar with some of these stories, but for those that enjoy the longer videos to relax or fall asleep to, I thought these compilation episodes might be enjoyable. I think it's my favourite fictional story that I've featured on the channel. Have drifted away from doing any fiction these days but would love to try and narrate some horror stories again in the future.

The tradition of telling ghost stories in the winter time and around Christmas survived well into the 20th century. Look at that famous song “the most wonderful time of the year”:
“There'll be parties for hosting
Marshmallows for toasting
And caroling out in the snow
There'll be scary ghost stories
And tales of the glories of
Christmases long, long ago
It's the most wonderful time of the year”
That’s a song called the most wonderful time of the year by Andy Williams, in 1963.
The ghost story tradition lasted.
Oh yeah it didn't completely die with the victorians, but over the years it's certainly fallen out of favour as a tradition.

I’ve never heard that regarding the winter solstice. Guess it makes sense being the longest night of the year, but it’s also the time when the Earth is closest to the Sun
I don’t think tat it’s true l, but perhaps I’m wrong. As far as I know l, the veil is thin during Beltane (Halloween), also considering that All Saints and All Souls Days follows Halloween.

@@karidennis6154 you’d think so ‘cause that’s when we’re locked in a frigid cellar 😅, but Earth at it perihelion (closest approach to the Sun) is usually in early January
Of course it's true,the world or Earth gets cold and pretty much goes into permafrost but people and animal species do die more during winter. And then everything renews in Spring. If you think about it long enough it makes total sense. I didn't know we were closer to the Sun though. I know we Ellipse the Sun of course but haven't really thought about it.
The scariest part about this, is how the narrator says "Free" instead of "Three"

Yes I heartily agree. The ending really took me by surprise! The sound of the fire crackling in the background made me think very reminiscent of a spooky campingstory by a big ass bonfire!

This is a bit random but have you ever wished it wasn't so easy for your mind to go to a place to where you actually believe, that no longer being alive is a better than continuing on. Of course this is irrational thinking but long story short life is a torment. I know it's me and some of my mistakes that have helped me get to here but I also know if you are living with toxic people in this case hell on earth. My daughter is the only reason I have stayed this long. Once I get my own place that will help I'm sure. My bad for the rant but I don't have anyone to talk too right now. At least if someone is struggling as well maybe it can help.
Hi, sorry I only just saw this. I don't think I can be much help but as someone who has had some pretty dark spells myself things can and most likely will get better. Stay strong not just for your Daughter but yourself as well and try and get out of this situation if you can.
I don't know where you are based but there are phone lines that you can call, it's normally totally anonymous but just speaking to a real person about what you are going through can be such a massive help. Please look after yourself my friend.

Yes. I'm getting to really enjoy listening to these stories. I believe in the paranormal 100%. There is more to this world than people know OR maybe they do know what's out there. I know there is some scary stuff out there besides people that are alive.
