@Pamel Sowards: Yeah, I have a sick dog right now and the jerk didn’t want to do anything because I didn’t have the money for that insanely high bill, so he tells me I can put him down. I am NOT putting my dog down when he can be treated and cured. That jerk is horrible. I am going to call around tomorrow and see if someone will let me get the fluids and do it that way. Right now the only thing I had to force out of that useless vet was that I can give him pedialyte (4 cups per day). SMH
Some of these jerks are just in it for the money. I am so thankful this guy posted this video. I wish he was in my area!!! I’d take my dog to him in a heartbeat

Just spent $2,050 on recovering my 16 year old cat from pancreatitis. All they did was keep him overnight once, give IV fluids, ultrasound, blood panel and urinalysis. Now I'm giving him Ceneria, Gabapentin and Amoxicillin (he also has a UTI). He is doing okay eating and I hope to get a few more years with him. But, emergency vet care now is highway robbery. I don't get it, honestly.

I hear you . You can actually ask for Sub Q fluids and give kitty fluids at home . My cat was in kidney failure at 14 ,and Dr Andrew Jones recommended Grain Free High protein/ 83% + moisture.
I bought collidial silver, (pepsid, really helped ) she had a lump in her urethra area ,and I filled a Rubbermaid container and let it go warm and added 1 cup of ACVINEGAR. I put her in tub after she went to bathroom, and I massaged the area. Leaving the b room door open as I put bin in tub . I began to feel this sand empty into my hand and the lump was gone . She began to get sick ,and I asked Dr Jones,he has a video on when you know it’s time . She slept with me every night. That day I knew. However she was 21 + 6 months. She lived an excellent quality of life because of this Dr right here . She died in my arms July 23 rd at 10:30 am . It was really hard ,but she was due to be out down at 3 on that day. So trust your gut. My light that’s never worked our recessed lights blinking non stop for 2 months. So now because of this Dr and the time I had , I can honestly say regardless of how hard her death was to me ,it was an honour and a privilege to be her momma. ❤️
I’m in Ontario Canada 🇨🇦 and he’s saved me thousands of dollars. I hope your kitty is ok.
Epakitin orange lid oral powder works amazing for kidneys, but once open keep it in fridge ok . Worth every single penny.
I’ve recently heard that fishmox on Amazon is exactly the same thing as amoxicillin. Many people take it . Vets are extremely outrageous, I found my baby because someone threw her out on the side of the road with her siblings. She was the only survivor. At 2 am getting hay , what are the chances? ❤️ Michele.

@@freespiritwithnature4384 i am so sorry for your cat. I bought a book on Amazon called wet noses at the pearly gates. To read when the time comes for my Furbaby/ dog of 13 years and 4 months, he's been dealing with heart problems since 8 years and 15 months ago he tore his back knee, which I was not putting him under a 3 hour anesthesia for surgery, plus I didn't have over $5000
The veterinarian had him on a strong anti inflammatory drug and he had already had a sensitive stomach so this caused him bloody diarrhea and vomiting blood.
I found a new veterinarian who immediately took him off it but had to keep him overnight and give fluids so I have had him on pepcid and cerenia plus a slurry for over a year.
And I have easily spent $10,000.
      3000 since Christmas.
Now he just got diagnosed with beginning stages of Kidney disease.
The veterinarian of course put him on the Kibble for Kidney disease and canned food, which he won't eat anyway
I always fed my baby human grade food and cooked chicken also.
Now I had been cooking him Dr Jones diet for digestive issues but tweeking it with less protein because that's what all vets say.
Until I started researching it. I found they need protein still.
Where you say Dr Jones had yours on grainfree and 83% protein what exactly did you mean by that? Abd also tge Epakitin is that for just cats or also for dogs.
My veterinarian now I do like but they all act like we have a non ending supply of money, which I can't do anymore big vet bills.
She said she didn't think it would be Kidney disease that would take his life anyway.
      This is so hard.😪
It's why I spend everything I have to comfort him.
If you have time to answer my questions I would appreciate it.
      Thank you.

Emergency vets want the big bucks. They aren’t in it to help pets in the all day grind of a regular practice. When I go to the emergency vet I can always hear them in the next room quoting a starting price of 2000.00. I always tell them I don’t have it. I say start with the most essential item first. The last time they started with a quote of 1500 and when we left I paid 700.00. Just tell them, you don’t have it, start with most essential and see if we can save the pet for less.

Hello Dr Jones and thank you for your video. I have a Golden Doodle, she is 3 years old. She has always had a problem of being sick bile, maybe once a week or once every two weeks. 10 days ago this turned into a really bad vomiting episode (only first thing in the morning) Following day she was sick blood. I took her straight to vet they gave her anti acid and blood tests and anti sickness. Two days later vomiting blood again, went back and he suspected pancreatitis so took a special blood test. The next day she was worse than ever and was sick just blood about 5 times. She went in for a general anaesthetic, scans and xrays but still nothing to conclude what it was. She has stopped being sick for the last two days, yesterday I had a call to say the pancreas test showed her levels were off the scale and pancreatitis was the cause. She is on a bland low fat diet but is not interested in eating, especially in the mornings, she dont eat until mid afternoon. Is there anything you can suggest to try and get her to take food earlier? Thank you, Sonia x

My dog lost significant amount of weight and had labored breathing from the nose. Mouth closed, just breathing in and out of the nose rapidly. She also vomited a lot periodically and had wet brown diarrhea persistently. I brought her to the vet and vet found through tests she had pancreatitis. He said she was at 400 something which is very abnormal from the 200 level. They put the IV Fluid in her just like you did, but also provided a bunch of medications as well as high caloric, low fat diet food. He said it was possible she's been eating table scraps which caused that issue and to stop it immediately. I am guilty of this and never will give her human food ever again.

Honestly you are amazing.❤ Thank you for this information and all the info you put out there. My dog is a 12 year old cane corso/presa who loves to eat geese poop. 🤦🏼‍♀️ it causes him to have an upset stomach with diarrhea, gas and he threw up once. This is the second time it has happened. It breaks my heart to see him struggling. He seems to be stable and starting to have a better stool not so runny. I definitely won’t take him to that park again. It’s very hard to take him to the vets as he has fear aggression and will bite. He wears a muzzle but the stress he is under is awful. He will pee if he is touched by the vets and they are afraid of him so it’s very hard on everyone involved. He’s such a powerful breed and 120lbs. I don’t like to put him on the meds to calm him for the visit cause honestly it doesn’t work and makes him more angry. So I try my best to do it at home and keep him comfortable. Thank you for all your info it has helped me and my Lokai immensely. The last time I saw the vet he was surprised he was still around and doing so well. Hopefully I can clear this up on my own and avoid the vets. Again thank you for the content you put out. It’s so appreciated. ❤

They were talking £800-1300 for everything with hospitalisation even though he is now brighter eyed, I guess stats below a certain amount they just say keep them in, he is already keeping food and water down after 24 hours, much more perky too so fingers crossed.

i'm struggling with treating my dog who i suspect has pancreatitis (the veterinarian won't call me back). this helps so much and i will attempt to follow your tips tomorrow. hopefully i can get the supplies during my state's lockdown.
also... i've had chronic migraines since i was 6 years old. the cold sensation peppermint eo gives relief by distracting me from the pain. i would lay on a cold kitchen/bathroom floor and use wet clothes when i was younger but peppermint eo is by and large way more effective. i put it on my temples and/or whatever side of my head the migraine is targeting.
i would also recommend it for people who are struggling with hot weather. back of the neck, chest, shoulders... really. it helps.

I cured my pomeranians pancreatic issue with 3 table spoons plain yogurt, 1/2 teaspoon organic honey, 3fresh blackberries 4fresh raspberries 6fresh blueberries, and 1/8 teaspoon garlic powder. Mixed n mash, I had to force feed him. He wasn't eating because of the belly pain. Btw he was not eating, kinda pulled into the corner for 2 days. I had enough n called the vet she said it'll be 3-6k for treatment. So I did my research overnight n wala! After giving him this concoction he was up n running around after only 20min my eyes couldn't believe what I was seeing. I Also give this mix if I take my dogs outdoors n they drink river or pond water this will keep them protected, from intestinal infections and parasites. I imagine this will work for humans also? Cucumber is another good snack for dogs it's Anti-inflammatory.
For killing worms n infestations I give my dogs 4 tablespoons plain yogurt 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder 1/2 teaspoon dried parsley. Mix n mash n no infestation or intastional problems. Do it 1every 10 days or at least once a month. 😎 I feed the yogurt, garlic, parsley mix to my puppies n I dont have to deal with worms n my puppies are so healthy.

Dr. Jones and fellow pet lovers!
I have a predominately looking cocker spaniel 2 1/2 y o male and I live in Acapulco MX w my hispanic husband.I am finding it hard to navigate how to find a holistic vet and more than likely if I did my husband would find the price to high and wouldn't return. My husband is part of the problem.
He was diagnosed ultimately with canine hepatitis. First let me explain that we either have country vets or city vets. We have gone to both. The country vets use their skills to identify what they know exist here. The city vets use their labs. We did do simple blood work and it showed everything in normal range. The much needed diagnostic test was like $55 USD or $1000 MXP which my husband didn't want to pay for.
I believe this problem started in March after my female dogs last heat. She wants nothing to do with him and gets quite aggressive when he pesters her. She is a mix of maybe husky/pit bull. She has blue eyes and short hair. He left all his food for her to eat, which, the country Dr said, it could have caused his deterioration which has led to his current problem.
Now after many visits to vets and force feeding of medication and supplements he has gone into his quiet space. He no longer wants to get too close to us, can you blame him?
He is drinking water and I give him a little bit of honey in the morning. He seems very content and in no pain. He will chase after squirrels.
Any thoughts? Thank you very much. I also like that I can put your words in Spanish for what its worth.

This will help when I get my dog back from the vet, hopefully today. 3rd day he's been there. If they let him go home today, my total bill should be under $2k. He's 14 and very lucky I'm in a point in my life that I could afford to to go to the vet. At 14, it's hard, I don't want him living in pain but he was fine ('ish, his hearing is going, he has cataracts, tracheal collapse, he's old). He was attacked 2nd time this year by a pit bull, who didn't want to kill him but just didn't want to stop chomping on the back of his neck. It was horrible, I'm still traumatized. I read injury, trauma and shock could affect/trigger pancreatitis too, maybe I'm just reaching.
Anyhow I'm glad I took him in, he stopped eating for over a week. I was trying to get him to eat anything, chicken, steak, hamburger, etc. I was going thru the fridge, trying everything to see if he eat. The last thing he ate was a piece of bologna (I was desperate). Then he stopped completely, and I took him in.
I'm waiting to hear from the vet's office today, hopefully I get to take him home.

Here’s some advice if your dog is experiencing pancreatitis! DO NOT give your dog any food or water for at least 12-24 hrs! When you do introduce food, try switching to a raw diet, I recommend Primal freeze dried or frozen food. Before feeding add Herbsmiths Microflora supplement, it has probiotics, prebiotics, digestive enzymes, and herbs that helps your dog absorb food the way it should! Try that and stick with it and see how things go. I say this because this is what worked for me and after switching to raw, my dog has never been more healthy! I was told she had only two weeks to live so I was desperate, looking for any way that would help her get better and live longer. After doing a ton if research no thanks to the vet, I made the switch with nothing to lose and luckily had everything to gain! I strongly suggest you do your research and try to make the switch to raw, you won’t regret it!

Been trying to figure out what my dog has for months now. Xrays showed enlarged liver and inflammation in lungs. They tested urine and found ecoli. So then they gave antibiotics and anti inflammatory. I saw a difference right after the anti inflammatory but then he pooped black tar for a couple days. They said maybe ulcer. Quit those meds and continued a different antibiotic. He still wasn’t eating so we tested urine and it said it was clear. stopped antibiotics. I started probiotics packet and writhin a couple days he started eating regular food and bowl movements were good for a couple days. Stopped probiotics and everything went back to normal. No appetite and runny poop. Xrays showed enlarged liver and inflammation in lungs. Also took blood tests. Vet gave a cortisone shot and antibiotic shot and that night started eating and was great for a couple weeks. Also was on prednisone. Then yesterday bam! All the way back to before. Now they are treating him for possible pancreatitis. Yesterday he didn’t eat and was weak and threw up yellow vomit after drinking a small amount of water. Gave him cerenia and famotidine shots last night. He’s drinking now good but still not eating. They want me to feed him id hills. He has abdominal pain and the symptoms of pancreatitis. I gave him a small burger patty on the 14th and on the 18th do you think that coulda triggered him now on the 25th? I’m at a loss, he’s in pain and I don’t know what to do. If anything of this is normal or not. Prior to this last episode he lost a lot of weight and I didn’t think he would make it. Then I had hope and now all the signs are back

She will eat if i give her food blended and through a syringe but not on her own yet. We did wait for awhile to feed her solids , she will eat a few treats she likes. It is like she is extremely picky eater now. Her swelling has gone down. She moves about slower now but definitely likes outside walks and car rides. She barks she drinks water on her own. She just wont eat and so we have to feed her but I dont want to make her situation worse. I know it the snake bite it is like it changed her. . She was a little overweight now she is a good weight but I dont want her to loose anymore. She use to wake me up in the morning to go outside she doesn’t right now she just sleeps but if I say “lets go for a walk!” She perks up. Hi, could someone help me? My little 10-year-old poodle was diagnosed with biliary sludge and cholecisitis because she had a short episode of 1 day of abdominal pain as the only symptom (and it was a intermittent thing) She never stops eating or drinking, just hunched and feel sad for no more than a couple hours, in two separate days. Her blood tests were PERFECT, and now she's more than good. I distrust the veterinarians who attended her and make the sludge scenario almost life threatening. Is there any video or recommendation for dogs with biliary sludge and an inflamed galbladder, with no signs of obstruction or other signs of sickness? She eats food prepared by me with beef, oatmeal, rice, grain flaxeed and chia seeds (and fish oil) and only some commercial kibble in 1 meal at day (just for micronutrients) Thanks to that change in her diet, she's no longer have elevated cholesterol, alkaline phosphatase or triglycerides (as before the diet change) nor hepatomegaly... But the sludge bile supposedly returned after go for 6 months, and I don't know if it is really that bad or just a common find in ultrasound studies, and also an unspecified condition from which many veterinarians without ethics take advantage. If someone could guide me I would greatly appreciate it!!! Hugs to all from Argentina! 😊

Is it safe to fast a diabetic dog? Do I subq him the same as a regular dog? My 13 lb dachshund has been diabetic for 2 years now. In the last week he has started to have issues holding his bowels. Seems to poop more frequently and with urgency. Today it is yellow in color and that makes me think pancreatitis. He isn't vomiting and will still eat, but doesn't finish it all as he usually does. He's a low key dog, but seems very lethargic as well. Just wondering if I should fast him for 24 to rest the pancreas, but does that mean no insulin shots which he usually gets every 12 hours after food?

My little dog has had issues with pancreatitis on and off for at least three years. He thinks he’s a person so he refuses to eat if I don’t switch up his food every other day. He’s decided he is SO OVER oatmeal and rice. And now entirely refuses to eat Honest Kitchen.
I fed him some plain chicken (with no skin) the other day and I think it was too much, because I woke up the next morning to a lot of bright red mucus vomit :’-( I let him relax and watched him closely, and didn’t feed him for a day, and we have a vet appointment tomorrow.
He still seems to have a bad tum and I can hear his stomach gurgling. He sneaks eating grass to make himself throw up, which gives him some relief, but I want him to be healed.
Last vet visit we got some liquid famotidine, but I don’t think it’s enough, and I’d rather that he is healed rather than just a temporary fix. :-(

He’s been doing okay. I’ve been strict about his food and he hasn’t been throwing up and his stools are generally normal. He seems to be feeling better. But could also be because he’s been on the denamarin. So we’ll see how the next few weeks go.

Hello Dr. Jones, my 2 yr. old Dobie was diagnosed with pancreatitis . They gave anti nausea meds for 4 days and famotidine for 7 days. The gave me Hills I’d canned food as well. She started to respond and be herself after 2 days,,,, but I was concerned on what to feed her. I am presently watching your videos and preparing a list to feed her a low fat diet.. currently she is fed twice a day ... 3/4 cup of a low fat kibble , brn rice , kale, butternut squash or canned pumpkin with this I’d canned food. I’m putting together a better recipe with real chicken , brn rice , veggies , and supplements ....trying to find your supplements . Can I at times use chicken liver or beef liver or fish ? Please let me know if I’m doing this correctly . Thanks

You are amazing. What a gift for owners who do t have money to go to the vets and pay thousands or tetss and treatment. The vet near me wont see my animals inless i agree to various expensive out of clinic tests. I hope i never have to do this again. Had to fpr a kitty sith pancreatitis from purina.

Omg, our dog almost died, was bite by a tick and the vet couldn't figure it out paid all kinds of money different trips different meds, whe my husband seen a poster for lymes, they tested and there it was, she had it, she was at the point where she dropped and almost died. Then she started pooping cow patties, could t himd herself so tbey put her on meds, I order on chewy it is way cheaper, but over the last 2 years she has got so skinny. And they say that happens and she is always thirty, I feel so bad, I hope we are talking about same thing panacure I thibk it is what we give her. It helped for while but nkw I feel like it is making ber worse, when we cut back on it, she seems to finally have reg poop, then it comes back again. I haven't watch your video yet, I get excited

My dog got into a box of Chocolate several years ago and had a severe reaction to it. The Vet at the Animal ER diagnosed my dog with Pancreatitis and prescribed him the Gastrointestinal Low Fat dry formula by Royal Canine...three thousand dollars later. Thank God I had a health insurance plan on my dog at that time. He has been on the same dry dog food formula since he was diagnosed with Pancreatitis and has yet to have another episode. I’m wondering if my dog truly has Pancreatitis or if he just had a bad reaction to Chocolate. He’s a tiny 5lb Shihpoo who rarely gets sick. However he can be pretty sensitive to various dog treats which end up in mild vomiting from time to time. He’s 9 years old and people still mistake him for a puppy. He’s just so stinking little and cute lol

It may just have been acute pancreatitis secondary to the chocolate.

Thank you for the info. I had my rott/shepard in the ER/hospital for 5 days due to severe pancreatitis. After 5 days, she still wasn't eating so they were going to give her a feeding tube. The bills were at 2,100 dollars and we were unable to do another 4 days with the cost. I brought her home and she is still barely eating. maybe a half a cup of chicken a day. I have her on azathioprine for acid, Entyce to increase her appetite and Cernia for nausea. It's 130 dollars for 4 days of medication and she has been on it for two weeks - not very much improvement. I can feel her back bone now and im starting to get worried. I will go out and get the Frankincense oil this evening. Praying that works. The vet will not give me any more medication as he stated she will need to be seen again and a feeding tube will need to be inserted or she will be right back to where she was before. The bills just keep going up. I have 4 rescue dogs that im trying to help out so anything you can forward my way would be appreciated. Two years ago I lost my precious golden retriever at age 3 from MG and ME that started abruptly and within 6 weeks she was gone due to pneumonia and asphyxiation - horrible death, 11,000 dollars in vet/hospital bills and we still couldn't save her. It's very sad. I very much appreciate the home remedies and I will keep watching for any information you can bring my way. Thank you again!!!!

How do you know if it’s mild? Or chronic?

Thank you! From torn ACL to Pancreatitis.... I watch it all.because my old girl has both right now and is too senior for surgery....
But still need pain meds orally ... ugh I will have to modify as much as possible.
If anyone reads this I feed raw. Pancreatitis flares up (NOW I know) if ol’ girl sneaks too much cat food when I’m not watching OR give her some kibble- even high end kibble (not low fat|GI kibble) as a quick supplement.
Dang it this time I know it was the kibble.... I need to toss it or donate it.

What about Honey? I use Honey and Barley.... always when they have any kind of abdominal pain. If they're still vomiting, I only give only 1-3cc every 30 minutes -1 hr....
It is always SO hard not to give them food when they look at you and ask for it...only to be vomited after a few hours. 12-24 hrs of waiting to not feed them can be really stressful 😔 but it is what they need.....

My dog is being treated for pancreatitis and was released today for me to continue his meds and syringe feeding.
He still vomiting about 2 1/2 hrs after eating but meds are also given. Lots of meds. He gets meds to help with that but hope it slows down. It’s been about a week and was wondering how long does it generally take before he is able to start eating on his own.

I can't not feed my dog because she's diabetic. She's trying to recover and has been through her medication as of today, but sill not 100%. Just moved to Phoenix and the vet here charges a fortune. I'm now in debt and have to make payments until May!! Trying to get an appointment with another vet to see if I can find someone good, but charges less. Can't get an appointment until December 1st.
