@@Takpay Never withhold water though. Specially if a dog is loosing fluids through diarrhea. Don’t give good fur 12 to 24 hours (best, if dog is healthy enough) so their digestive system can reset, but DO give water and homemade broth as their “ meal” on that first day so they don’t get dehydrated on top of the other issue. And it’s cheaper than having to have a vet put them under IV fluids. (and careful with store bought chicken or beef broth. A lot of times they will have onion in there which isn’t good for dogs and most importantly they will have a little to a lot of salt, which is definitely really bad for dogs. You and your dog are safer making your own)

Thank you for this and all of your videos. Over the last 7 years you have taught me how to do so many things to help take care of my medically challenged pup. Honestly, I cannot afford to take her to the vet very often and definitely can't afford a hospitalization.
When she eats a no-no, it sends her into an episode of chronic ulcerative colitis with vomiting too. It's like her whole system gets out of whack. Her anal glands fill up with infection within a day of exposure to the trigger food. Even her ears become red, wax filled, and inflamed.
I certainly don't get much rest when she is so sick but thanks to you, I have the tools and knowledge to help her at home and she doesn't have to suffer more than she already is.

My Old English Sheepdog tends to be prone to this and vomiting and our vet gave us the same advice 're fasting her for 24hrs and then giving her cooked white rice. She absolutely loves the white rice and my Bearded Collie and Bichon Frise have to have some on top of their normal food when we are giving it to her otherwise they will try to steel it from our OESD's bowl. I will definitely try the chamomile tea next time she feels unwell. Thank you for all the great information and knowledge you share, I really appreciate it. I was having a breakdown. My Chi, Fifi, got colitis after I gave her a pig's ear. Anyway, about 5 or 6 hours later, noticed her out in the yard straining and straining. When I looked, it was dime & quarter size splotches of pure mucous diarrhea. Then again on doggie pad in house but this time small amounts of bright red blood mixed in. Her activity level dropped and when you touched her tummy she let out a groan.
I called my vet. However, I was surprised that I couldn't even get him to give me any at home advice. After all the $ we've spent for our 3 dogs, he told his assistant that I needed to bring her in for tests and antibiotics that would cost $150+....
Making memore upset and in tears. We just spent over 400$ the previous month and have been with his vet office over 3 years. From, shots to dental work, I felt he should of at least given me advice or things to try before making another financial hardship for us during this virus! So....
I spent hours reading online articles and watching RUclips videos.
It seemed like everyone had a little different advice.
Frustrated, I came across your video!
Your video was uplifting, at times funny or real! I followed your advice regarding the 24 hr food fast, bland diet, coconut oil, hydration & yogurt/probiotics.
My problem was getting her to eat a bland diet and drink water. What I tried was white rice with low fat cottage cheese first. Fifi turned her nose at it. Then I tried plain scrambled egg and rice....Again, nope..not touching it. So, I ended up getting boneless skinless chicken breast. Skinning the tip layer of the breast off, I boiled a chunk. Then I put 1/4 coconut oil, under a half teaspoon plain low fat yogurt, rice an chicken, than, put it in a small blender.
    AT LAST!
Within the next 24 hrs she was doing a lot better.
    THANK YOU SO MUCH!

Ive been to three different vets, i went to one of them twice. My dogs get these attacks. They call them " the gulps ", licking fits, ive even seen them called licking seizures? Shell be fine one second and then all of as sudden she's frantically licking the floor. If I take her outside she frantically easts grass. Way more than the average dogs who's eating grass. If there's no hair to lick up she's trying to eat the carpet, or cloths, towels etc right in front of me, and normally she's not a destructive dog. These attacks usually happen at night. The only time they've ever happened is them started at 10 or 11 in the morning, 6 or 7 or the middle of the night. Theyve never happened from 1pm to 5pm. The attacks usually don't last that long but they can be anywhere from 10 minutes to 6 hours. She has went 8 months without them in the past. Just recently she started having a good amount of these attack. I give her OTC pepcid when they happen but idk if they even help. She had these attacks and I just started to let her eat some grass. She usually calms down afterwards and then throws up the grass some hours later. Last night neither of us slept because she had me take her out every 30 minutes to have diarrhea. She's still having diarrhea and nows there's a decent amount of blood in her stool. She's not eating, and its been an hour since she last had diarrhea. She has had very mucus filled stool in the past wave of these attack, but all the vets I've took her to had next to no answers for us. I can't afford to run her to the vet every time an attack happens. Ive already maxed out my credit cards for the first four visits. I have no possible way of paying for treatment but the past times I took her, she didn't get treatment and I didnt get answers and it still cost me 500$+. I don't even know what I'm asking you. Other than her whining for me to take her every 30 minutes, and the blood in her stool, she seems to be acting fine. Why are there no charity clinics? Why do vet bills cost so much! And they charge what ever they want. Of These four visits, nothing even got done for her except giving her pepcid three of the four times and it cost me 109$ the one time, and 362$ the other time for the same exact treatment. All the vets acted like I was just some worried parent making a big deal of nothing. Ive barely slept the past month because of all these attacks. I don't have the six thousand dollars it would cost to get the litany of tests shed need to narrow this down. It doesn't seem like she in pain so I'm not putting her down. She's 3 so maybe I just won't get a good nights sleep for the next ten years but I could less about that. Its the fact that I in my heart know there's something going on and she's trying to tell me something is going on but I'm helpless. Every county should have a charity veterinary clinic. We pay enough taxes to subsidies this. Our government is busy fighting proxy wars that will never end. Fucking backwards ass " civilised " society...
Were slaves who can pick our jobs, and even the most noble of causes are dirtied by this world. Reality is like a soap opera. Were lied to, and manipulated to keep this sham of a democracy in place. We have the illusion of freedom, the illusion of choice. True agendas are hidden but the way to that agenda is wrapped up and fed to a public in a way that makes it seem beneficial, righteous, heroic even. I would be a vet right now, if I had gotten help for paying for my schooling in anyway. I was willing to put the work in, but growing up in poverty, not qualify for grants because of this or that. I wasn't gonna put myself in a debt I wouldn't I've had trouble getting out of. Especially when I wouldn't be able to charge people 1000$ for their surgery. I'd want to help for free. This world , this society is a joke, and I'm grateful for my time here but I'm not coming back. I don't wanna be a member of this society know but I don't have a choice. A " free " person would be allowed to walk into the woods and live off the land, but we can't do that. You can only do that if you buy your freedom. I can't wait till people wake up and realize were are in shackles. Were born in this cult...the cult of society and we don't have an option to play or not play. This system creates the haves and the have nots and pits them against each other. Places like my home where people are using more than need eating themselves immobile the places that are needlessly suffering. The world isn't fair, the people aren't free or equal and they piss in our faces and call it rain by saying these things. Its the royals and the serfs all over again, except the royals are sacrificing us in the shadows now because they know the people start rebellions when their actions are in the light. Were all brainwashed and manipulate to not see this. But I'm the crazy " conspiracy theorist "right. I deal in fact. The whole reason the hybrid reptilian conspiracy theories exist is to discredit what's really going on. They gotta make it seem outlandish. Idk how they've tricked so many intelligent people into towing the line.

kai russell I had a golden retriever that had what your dog has. We called it gulpity gulp. It seemed to be an upset acid stomach. She was great dog and did live to be almost 15 years old. We struggled with this for years. We gave various antacids, tums, Pepcid, stuff for acid stomach. She ate our carpet when we weren’t home to let her out to eat grass. We found she was allergic to dairy/cheese. It helped a bit when we eliminated that from her diet. So I think it was related to food allergy and also an inherited condition. She was a high energy girl so I think her excitability added to her stomach upsets. We tried different foods to find one that worked best. She did continue with this throughout her life, but we got it to be manageable. She had a great life in spite of this. I pray that you have or will find what triggers your dogs issue. And will be able to eliminate the foods and things that make it worse. And get it to be something you both can manage with antacid meds and a diet that helps. I also could not afford constant Vet visits, meds and prescription diets.

I gave my 1 year pup half a can of purina wet food (which is supposed to be BPA free) after a well behaved walk as usual. He’s had terrible diarrhea for the past 3 days. It’s never done this before so idk what’s changed. But I imagine it can be stress related as I’ve started a new job and have been away. I just tried fasting 12 hours before feeding half of the dry food only, which is what I usually feed him, with a 1/4 tspn of turmeric, one dropper of milk thistle, and his usual probiotic. If that doesn’t work I’ll try fasting for a full 24 hrs and doing exactly everything in this video. Will update

@@JoseSanchezEspinosa-u8e didn’t have to do the 24 hr fast. Began to clear up. He’s prone to colitis after a stressful event. He recently just had another episode. This time I used diarrhea medicine off Amazon and it cleared up a day faster than last time. Just had to let him outside every single hour to keep my house clean. Luckily I work from home so that was easy enough. I’ve started adding small amounts of thistle plus turmeric to his food every morning just to keep inflammation down on a regular basis. So far he’s only had 2 episodes of colitis. It’s scary and if it lasted longer than 5 to 7 days tops I would have taken him to a vet. The can dog food hasn’t made him sick again so I’ve concluded it’s actually stress related. But he’s happy so I don’t see another episode happening for a long while.
I followed the medicines instructions as best I could, and even though i wasn’t completely on track with it at times it seemed to work well enough. I had to give him a dose like every few hours. Fed him as usual just slightly less. Purina is my favorite dog chow. I give him a daily vitamin, the brand is pro sense. And I give him a little less than recommended.

Specialists are pumping him with a large number of drugs/steroids and have switched him to very expensive low fat kangaroo diet. He's had diarrhea for over 5 weeks straight since and he's getting frail and can't relax and keeps laying down in different spots all the time. He was on vegan kibble before that was working for him however they said it was not good for him long term. I'm now debating of going back to his vegan to fix his stool. Not sure what to do as I've spent all my savings on him, every vet has a diff opinion and hes still suffering over a month on a number of steroids and nonstop diarrhea. Not one holistic vet in Ontario is "taking patients" anymore. Any tips or resources? Trying to save my guy, he's normally very youthful and very athletic as a 9 year old but looks and moved like a 4 year old (until this last month and a half)! 🙏🏼💫❤️

Bro .. sorry to hear about your dog .. yes it can be nerve wrecking. And this is going take a process to get rid of. Though I am not a big fan I would suggest doing back to vegan kibble if it bring back the stool to normal. Then slowly adding easily digestible proteins like cooked chicken with some pumpkin. Sardines is another option. Fasting for another 24 hrs after a large meal does wonders. Then adding some pre-pro biotic supplements also helps. The. Reintroducing some pre-probiotics slowly helps them recover. There are some probiotics made some healthy dog poop ( yes it sound disgusting) the brand is called adored beast and product is called healthy gut. I have a pitbull who had a similar issue and it worked. Hope it does the same to u . Good luck.

I have the same problem i use venison, wild game or phesant raw food. I use a good quality pre and probiotic sivomixx. I add tumeric and pumpkin. I also use royal canin anallergenic dry food. Its made from feathers so may be tge answer for your dog. My dog has also lost a lot of weight, the diarriah comes after being solid so its hard to know whats causing it. I also give natural kifir and skimmed goats milk. But its trial and error i have success with metronidazole and i worm with panacur but i wont put him on steroids. Good luck

Just found your video and I am going to try this. After watching this I realized that we feed our dogs can food over a week ago now and days later they started with diarrhea and it hasn't stopped. My one dog, he's 10 yrs old he just got blood in his stool today and I called the vets and they are telling me he might have colitis. So I don't want to take them to the hospital because it's expensive and so I am going to pray and hope your remedy works. Seeing all these positive comments, I believe it will. I know this is a loaded question but...about 6 weeks ago I was forced to bring my dog into another home with a un-neutered male dog that always pestered him (barks, sniffs his mouth and butt CONSTANTLY). You can tell my dog doesn't like him because he will occasionally growl, snap and walk away. He got colitis which they treated with meds and special food and it went away. About a week ago I was forced to bring that dog into MY home. Hoping they would be better on his territory...well the colitis is back (other dog permanently living with my sister). However my last vet visit cost me $200 to treat this.
Would stress induced colitis be treated the same as if he ate something bad? In other words do I need antibiotics or should I just try your methods?

My 10 year old bichon has had on and off diarrhea since January. Straining all the time - diarrhea or not, some
mucas and tiny blood sometimes. Seems to be a monday thing… gets better through the week and then happens all over again. I dont know what the cause is… new puppy and new loud neighbor may be some stress there. Stool was checked and came back fine. My vet said to put her on chicken and rice for a month… and maybe its irritable bowel disease. No other testing or anything. Its bothered me so much that Im now taking special dog classes on line. If there is any way to hire you for on line advice please let me know. Im already a grand in for the first class anyways. Ill sign whats needed. Thank you.

I have a maltipoo, and he is sooo picky, anything new I give him upsets his tummy, he will get mucus and tiny blood sometimes too, and he is my baby, so needless to say how much I worry! I love this channel! I wish there were more vets like him, unfortunately most are in it for the $. When you look online for advice it can be so overwhelming and they get you scared right away when you search for mucus and blood in their stool. A month ago, I took my dogige to the vet, she actually was ok, he had same issue, so of course she gave him antibiotic. I told her he had gotten this before, she said, every once in a while is "normal" however if he gets it more often they'd have to run more tests. I automatically freak out! he has it again, so I don't know if once a month is too much or what to do!! I buy the best food for my angels, and it is so frustrating, I feel like I don't know what to do! and since he is soo picky, it is hard to give him so many of the things the Dr. recommends on the channel :(.

Thanks for another great video! I have been struggling with treating a 7 yr. old dog with clostridium for several months. After being on medication (twice) which did no good, he lost so much weight that he was down to skin and bones and lost all his beautiful muscle mass! We switched to Tylan, which has helped, but it has been up and down with gassiness and mushy stools occasionally. I've done many of the things that you recommended here and found more dietary aids that have helped and he is now a good weight again and muscle mass is coming back. But stools continue to be maybe an 8 out of 10 for firmness. I am wondering about adding DE to his diet? I have used it before and it occurred to me, but haven't used it for this yet. Also wondering if the DE will help keep the clostridium from infecting the other dogs? I keep the dog yard extremely clean by following him outside and so far none of. he other dogs has picked it up. Will the DE kill the bacteria on the ground? Hope you will respond to this. Thanks for your great videos!

Is an indoor dog only, hasn't eaten any new foods but I think he found a piece of raw deer meat that had been outside for a while. Small town, nearest vet is over an hour away.
