I wasn't much into Rush until I saw this doc. That got me into them. My friend, who is also the bass player in my band, is a huge Rush fan and has gotten me to listen to more of their stuff.
😭😭Every time I see Neil.. 😭😭 All of our music hero's are passing away. Thank you RUSH for all you've contributed and making my growing up stage fun👍👍. Technically I still haven't grown up yet! 😄
Eric, Getty and Neal literally sculpted sound into the art of music. Every song was a carefully crafted blend of thoughtful lyrics, sweet melodies and stirring rhythms. They never went cheap or took the easy way out on any part of their music. Love them or not, you have to respect that their music was never formulaic or trite or predictable, and they didn't bend with the winds of trend. They are one of the few rock bands to appeal to the audiences' intellect, and their care and craftsmanship was the ultimate compliment to their fans. They were literally three people geeking out to producing quality music. Their ultimate achievement, which is born out by this documentary, is they stayed true to their vision and principles and because of that they became monumental in the world of Rock and Roll. Hearing other Rock and Rollers speak with such reverence and awe is a true testament to the legendary status of Rush. In the end, the nerds were cooler than the people who thought they were the cool kids.
When they first came on the scene back then, they seemed to be outsiders, somewhat strange or weird but forty years later & some 40 million album sales with constant sold out shows, they were an example of how to make it in the music business because they did it their way.
Three of the greatest f--ing musicians ever in the same band, and I was lucky enough to see them twice before they call it quits. Sad that it’s over, but an amazing story/legacy, and I will keep listening to their music as long as I can.
Such a great documentary. I watch most music documentaries because I love the back story & where music and musicians are coming from. Often, you at least get an entertaining story. I Have to say, this is a must watch! If you like Rush, or not, you should definitely watch this. It's really good.
The greatest rock documentary ever. RIP Neal you will be missed friend.

To hell with the numbers. Go by talent alone. Rush is the best band ever to grace this planet
I TOTALLY AGREE WITH YOU..

Somebody actually asked me one day who Rush was. I told them: The greatest band that has ever existed.
You are correct Sir...
Alex Lifeson is probably the most underrated guitarist to ever grace the stage

'Epic win' is no longer a cool phrase. Just like earrings and tats. 'Dime a dozen'.
