  • I'm just a guy, and here's some stuff.
I really hope they don't put a copyright strike on this.
This is from the extras of Rush: Beyond The Lighted Stage.
I hope you'll buy their DVD or Blu-Ray off their website, because I'm going to.
    Blu-Ray
    rushbackstage.com/product/6XA...
    DVD
    rushbackstage.com/product/6XA...
I only recently got into Rush after I learned that they would stop touring. I wish I had been born a decade earlier so I could see them live. I'd be a mega-fan like you all seem to be.
    Instead, I'm a mini-fan.
They seem to be super-nice guys who never compromised.
Did you know you can get Rush bobblehead dolls? Dude! That's going to be my second purchase.
    rushbackstage.com/product/6XA...
My first purchase will be this:
    rushbackstage.com/product/6XA...
Next month :D Look for an unboxing video, maybe.
I don't get any money from this, I don't think. I'm new to this RUclips thing.
If there's an ad on your viewing, I swear, I didn't place it.

I haven't checked this account for a while. And I shouldn't be amazed but I am.
Over 100k views since Neil died....the best drummer ever.
Like I said in the description, this is from the extras of Rush: Beyond The Lighted Stage.
I encourage you guys to go out and buy it right now!
Along with all of their albums, including their vinyls from www.rushbackstage.com/store/

Clearly, I don't get anything from telling you to buy stuff. If you're getting ads, it's not me, it's RUclips monetizing, not I.
I tried reading all your comments and it's so overwhelming that I can't do it in a reasonable time frame.

These guys truly won at life. Rush went from pariah status to one of the most beloved and respected bands in rock history. They didn't dissolve into lawsuits, addictions, and acrimonious behavior. Geddy and Alex are still friends after almost 50 years, and they'd been friends with Neil to the end. The band went out with one of the finest albums of their career, still selling out stadiums on their final tour. Virtually no one has a bad thing to say about those three men, and their catalog is filled end-to-end with classic tunes.
It does not get better than that.

I've been a Rush fan for over 40 years. I had the great fortune of meeting Geddy, Alex, and Neil several times in the 80s and 90s. The first time I met them was in Detroit prior to their concert at Joe Louis Arena. My friend Chuck's older brother was good friends with Skip Gildersleeve who he went to high school with in Lincoln Park Michigan. Skip worked for Rush for many years and got myself and a few friends access with Chuck's brother. I was just a teenager at the time but they were all so friendly and gracious. They were every bit as nice and polite as they appear in all of their interviews. After that I was able to meet them a few more times when they came through town and even once after I moved to California while in the US Navy. I suspect that Alex and Geddy would still remember me after all these years because that's just the kind of guys they seem to be. I can't say that we became friends but we did become friendly acquaintances and they always remembered who I was. Skip passed away about ten years ago. He was also a really nice guy. I think one of the keys to why Rush became successful is that they were and remained genuinely kind thoughtful people who have always remembered where they came from and maintained their humility. RIP Neil and RIP Skip. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to meet such interesting people and a legendary band. On another note, the segment in this documentary where they are prowling the halls of the church looking for the room where they played their first gig reminds me of The scene in This is Spinal Tap where the band gets lost in the maze of hallways in the concert venue when they are trying to find the stage and wind up in the boiler room.....twice. ROCK AND ROLL!! HELLO CLEVELAND!!!......Wait? This isn't it.

I met Neil and Geddy in Daytona Florida back in 2015. I never bothered them in acknowledging that I knew who they were. It was fun for the few days that I could just be around them at the hotel. I had a temp job cleaning there with a bunch of catty witches LOL but I even had time to talk about bikes, as I ride too. Neil talked about bikes a tiny bit and Geddy sat down near the flower garden and chatted a bit. I was delighted and it was fun to just be normal with him. This put them at ease. Rest Easy Neil Top drummer ever and Hey Geddy, if you see this, I am the tall brunette Joyce. It was a pleasure to meet you both. I left and reside in Nashville for the time. God Bless and heal your hearts to RUSH, my very first real concert, "Moving Pictures" Alpine Valley late 8's maybe 1981. I would have to find me ticket stub and I am sure that I still have it.

Really? Do you miss the Toronto that was? I go back to visit family and other things but as soon as I hit Major Mack I want to turn around and go home. To be honest, I moved into a loft on Carlaw and I had more of a neighbourhood there than I do up here. Lots of wood shops like mine with more knowledgeable guys who I would go to for advice etc and local eateries and stuff BUT the traffic was horrendous. I couldn't make a living simply due to that. I lived 5 blocks from a Home Depot and it could take as long as 20 minutes to get there and then try to find a parking spot. I was at the point that if I only needed 1 sheet of plywood I would walk. Or a stack of steel 2 x 4s.
One time I had to go to Dufferin and St Clair to quote on a job. It took 1 1/2 hrs to get there, I spent 4 hrs walking the place taking notes, plus parking $20.00 then 1 1/2 hrs back, I didn't get the job so that was a whole day wasted.
I DID get a job renovating a house on Davenport.....it screwed up my day because there was no parking anywhere before 10 am. I got a ticket once at 9:59am.
I got a job in Newmarket and had 2 guys working with me. It was costing me 4 hrs x 2 guys = 8 hrs a day just to have them sitting in the truck in traffic.
The clincher for me was one reno the customer refused to pay the final bill of $27,000.00. I sued, settled out of court, so I only lost $2000 instead of $27K but that was the final nail in the coffin. I had to sell and get out.

It was in the summer and there was a lot of people shooting off fireworks outside in the large parking lot. So the fireworks continued inside during the concert bottle rockets, fire crackers, m80's. The band was sounding great very tight! Next thing I know someone throws an m80 right at Geddys feet and it blows up louder than hell!! I figured it was the end of the concert but Geddy and the band didn't miss a beat!! I couldn't believe my eyes! These guys were Totall bad asses that night! I wonder if Geddy remembers that. I'm the same age as these guys and grew up in Montreal Canada. I've lived in the U.S. for 40 years but still have to go home every now and then to see the old neighborhood...just not since they closed the border.

This video just proves that you should be kind to everyone that touches your life. You never really know what amazing things they will do and you will hope that you enhanced them in some way.

Geddy and Alex are trying to remember events from the 1960s. I memory serves me, they played our high school, around 1970. I saw them open for KISS, in Toronto, in 1974.

A stroll down memory lane for them. You can see that they were clearly excited and were really enjoying it. As someone who has "gone back home" myself, I know the feeling.

Watching them chatting and joking with such ease, they're still the same, goofy 15 year old boys.

Awweee...these guys are the coolest! How cool that Neil came in later in their lives and it was like they knew him all their lives.
