Alex seemed the most grown up of all of them and I'm not surprised..this trip seemed to be a turning point for him..I think he saw that the other kids were a mess and his parents visiting made him focus on making his career in music all the more important. I wonder what his thoughts were on this movie?
in some ways it's sad... in other ways it's nice to see people actually interacting with each other- no video games and cell phones... the smoking is ridiculous ;) Alex life son has changed so much- thank God
Alex must have already been in some kind of band by this point. At around 1:12 he's talking about making "$80 a night each" and "practicing above a music store". How prescient. Little does anyone know! He probably spends $80 a night on picks, strings and batteries now.
Why T... F... anyone would dare to remove this video. This is one of a kind piece of history. Get off you f..... Google/RUclips a... holes. Let people post whatever they feel like posting. Is it too much to ask...?
Alex was one of the fortunate ones. His parents had his best interest in mind, but they had no idea what a success he would become.

it's funny at around the 50:00 mark those kids have no clue how famous Alex will become and they're laughing at his playing.
Holy shit this is everyone I grew up with.
thanks for sharing
Your welcome.

I think Alex was pretty close to recording the first album by 73 - notice his burst es 335 - He played that one in 78 at Pink Pop - strangiato
The irony is these kids wanted to escape the air polluted city and yet they are almost all chain smokers--even the pregnant one.
smoking in the hospital..those were the days lol
Al looks so defeated...at least he brought his main axe.

You can definitely hear Jimmy Paige's influence on Alex in his playing during this.
By 1973 Rush was already formed.
I think that's the release date of the video, not when it was filmed.....
It's hard to watch the pregnant woman smoking and drinking beer but I guess my mother did the same thing in the 60's!
