Rammstein (German pronunciation: [ˈʁamʃtaɪn]) is a German Neue Deutsche Härte band formed in Berlin in 1994. The band's lineup-consisting of lead vocalist Till Lindemann, lead guitarist Richard Kruspe, rhythm guitarist Paul Landers, bassist Oliver Riedel, drummer Christoph Schneider, and keyboardist Christian "Flake" Lorenz-has remained unchanged throughout their history, along with their approach to songwriting, which consists of Lindemann writing and singing the lyrics over instrumental pieces the rest of the band has completed beforehand. Prior to their formation, some members were associated with the punk rock acts Feeling B and First Arsch.

One of the things I find so interesting about reaction videos to this song is the difference between American reactions and UK/European reactions. I'm in the UK and I am always fascinated by the US reactors who freak out, swear, or cringe when it gets to the birth scenes. Hardly anyone in Europe/UK bats an eyelid.

Hey there, thank you an awful lot for your way to reacted. You are right: the way to traduct something is more than important. And here it's even more: Time, I beg you, stand still.... here Till Lindemann uses german language in a beautiful way, wich seems to reappear from a time we nearly forgot. And the three hooded "figures" represents the three nornes of northern mythology who announce or direct fate. Verdanđī (the present); Ůrd (the past) and Śkůld (the future). If I may explain it with my lousy english. So I' m happy that you enjoyed, greetings to Great Britain and have a good time ahaed!

Yeah this is a really powerful song, especially with that outro. The black hooded figures are called Time Keepers in Germany apparently, so similar to death but a bit more so hence the part with the babies. That might also be why they don't have the traditional skulls as faces, instead it's a sort of time vortex.
I find that the lyrics often add a lot of meaning to the song (not always), but also sometimes the video also adds depth to the lyrics. Auslander is a good case in point, the lyrics sound like they're just about sex tourism but the video is much more about colonial attitudes to the people colonised (in a fairly light hearted way).

Actually, they are the nornes of the nordic mythology, Urd (fate) Verdandi (to become) and Skuld (what shall be), also seen as past, present and future.
As for the subtitles, it is better than nothing, but never the less, a lot is lost in translation.
For example, the term "moment, would you please remain" is a famous quote of "Faust" one of the most famous literature works of germany.
And a lot of the lyrics are phrases used in german everyday language, which is simply geniusly used by Rammstein.

Well done reaction! Germany had Goethe and Schiller and Kant and now Rammstein should be added to this list. Another Rammstein songs with deep lyrics are "Dalai Lama" and "Deutschland". (For example). Next year they have another great Europe tour. Does UK still belong to europe?

I think the last sound of the video represents the first breath taken by a newborn baby!
I interpreted it a bit simpler than that. It seemed like a forceful statement that Rammstein were back in action again, because visual shows them being uncovered by the Sands of Time at the same time. This was the first song release of the latest album. But with so many Rammstein things, things are open to other interpretations. 🙂

I did just see some lIve Concerts Clips from the USA a couple days ago from Sept. in TX and CA. The crowd can sing the lyrics in german too. Amazing ! Rammstein is a phenomenon. The subtitles for the songs from the new album (Zeit) are very good in auto translate. For the older stuff you'll have to search for a translation in google or whatever search engine you like. They're often hard to translate though, because they love to play on words and double meanings. It's almost always worth to check them out though.

Most of the video is actually played in reverse. The rope coming up and going around his neck would have been shot the other way where it started around his neck and came off. A LOT of the video is played in reverse.

Another thing that came to my mind is the babies being put back in to the mother to be born again on earth and also coming back in a sense they died on earth and are now being born in the other world and their birth or rebirth on earth is them already starting to die because as soon as your born your dying..your dying to live or as Rammstein put it "Wir sterben weiter bis wir leben" "We keep dying until we live" because in a sense what we perceive as dying is us actually being born again into the other world that's why the girl in the end seems happy when she dies because she knows that her death here means her being born over there..if that makes any Sense?

The three figures are the Norns. The Norns are deities in Norse, Germanic mythology who are responsible for shaping human destiny. Their names are Urðr, Verðandi, and Skuld. They stand for "what was", "what is" and "what is to come". They also care for and protect the "world(s) tree" Yggdrasill, which stands at the center of the universe and connects the nine worlds (Asgard, Vanaheim, Alfheim, Midgard (World of human), Jötunheim, Muspelheim, Nidavellir, Niftheim and Helheim) seen in the video as an kind of "hourglass" or "tree of sand" where the women give birth to the children.

Now you are on the right way. Rammstein is not only best videos and best live shows on earth, Rammstein is also lyrics. Sometimes it would be better for fathers to do what daughters tell them to do. In Germany there is also a law that daughters are allowed to tie their fathers to a chair during a RUclips reaction video and are also allowed to gag them. They should also introduce this law in England. As a father of a daughter, I can say that (Only Joking)🙂

My interpretation and thought was time goes on like a continuous cycle and those rare occasions when we are truly happy of course we want time to stop. The showing of the sand and hourglass ⌛ time keeps going and them showing the scenes reversing to me meant a desire to go back in time either to the moment of birth and start our lives over or to before we're even born saying no i don't even want to be born i want to go back before i was even conscious of my own existence and mortality. Them being blindfolded to me was no one knows whats going to happen in the future we don't know what kind of lives these babies are going to have.

One thing I want to say about your reaction is, the cloaked figure is not Death, it is Time. He was there when you were born and he is there when you die. We are all on a one way trip to our death and we would like Time to stop at our best moments in time so we can enjoy it longer and we want Time to stop before we die because we want to have more good moments. But Time just goes on and there is nothing we can do about it, so treasure the good moments in life because we only have limited time here before it ends.

English is a very simple language....you just need about 3000 words (German Highschool standard) to come by..The German Language has many more words because in a way we had so much more Philosphers who extendet our "Wortschatz" (Vocabulary) that special German words had made it to all kind of languages around the world...for example "Zeitgeist" or "Lebensfreude" or "Schadenfreude" etc.....Why? Because we are not only thinking about the world we also want to find the right words for that.......
