I was born in Baia Mare and grew up there, left when I was 19... last time I've seen the river two years ago during a holiday trip it was still brown from the pollution. A lot of investments into water-cleaning plants have taken place during the last decade to fix the situation but it's a very slow process. It's not only cyanide that poisoned the water, it's also full of zinc, lead and copper.
Jesus. I'm sorry you've lived that experience. Flint, Michigan still doesn't have clean water because of local politicians deliberately rerouting toxic water away from the rich to the poorer communities.

I had seen a fan-made video of this song to scenes from the movie "the Boy in the Striped Pajamas". I balled my eyes out, especially at the end when the two boys are being led to the "showers". Heart-wrenching! Unfortunately, it looks like RUclips took the video down.

Nothing can be done with any of the animals poisoned by this contamination. They're disposed of by burning etc. Nature will right itself, but it takes time and this sort of thing is happening all over the world with chemicals, sewage, waste, oil, you name it. Man really is the most dangerous animal as far as Earth is concerned. Incredible song, one of my favourites. Great reaction as always.

As far as I could find out: Aurul SA had no fines or punishment levied on them for their part; they accepted no blame nor took any part or investment in the cleanup aid, nor offered to do so. They changed their name to Transgold SA, and the processes for extracting gold that contributed to the disaster are still being used, despite three attempts in Romanian Parliament to ban gold cyanidation.

Some positive facts to this tragic disaster: this happened in 2000. At the Hungarian side the Tisza river (and obviously the Danube) regenerated quicker than expected: in 2 years more primitive lifeforms like insects, crabs, shells etc. repopulated the river and in 4 years 95% of the former wildlife became present again. Fortunetly nature corrected the human mistakes almost entirely. On the down side: polluting metals were and are still present in the water, the riverbed and in lifeforms. Fishing was reduced significantly on the long term. The Hungarian Government sued Aurul, but the Australian owners used administrative obstacles to hinder any Hungarian or Romanian claims. As far as I know they still use the same mining technology...

When I found out that I could add music to my Xbox and listen to it while playing a game it was on lol. I was playing COD and this album Liebe Ist Fur Alle Da was always in the background. Really adds some atmosphere when you're shooting people and ich tu dir weh comes on

I know that there are major issues in the world, USA has big issues such as wildfires out western states of USA. While Ice melting in the North causing possible collapsed of the Gulfstream that can lead more colder weather in the future. As these shit happening, Big Business and government are turning a blind eyed on these situations.
This was the Second devastating Event after Tschernobyl in Europe. The Problem was that the goverment has swept it under the rug and said nothing had happened and the local residents drank the water because of this the pregnant women had stillbirths. therefore in the chorus "where are the childrens".

My theory for this, is that this and the album before(rosenrot), in my opinion, are the darkest albums from them. Either in sound and lyrics.
