    I really struggled to find my Kibbe-Type. Many tests later I think I'm a soft classic. Fun fact: wearing soft classic style clothes I always get compliments! 😅 Even if it's only a slightly wide but well cut grey T-shirt with a bit wide black soft fabric trousers (like a floaty Culotte) and a minimalistic gold necklace, my co-worker told me 'i' m very chic looking'. 😂💃 Less is more!

    I despise being a soft classic so much that I’ve all but completely given up on the concept. However, I want to compliment you on the way you explain how and why this philosophy works for those who buy into it. Your descriptions are so easy to understand! Your examples are modern (unlike Kibbe himself), and this is very helpful also.

    I'm a soft classic. But I don't like sc fashion, like girly dresses. I like blazers and oversized anything but doesn't look nice on me :(

    • @thealignedlover
      @thealignedlover  4 года назад +6

      SC doesn't have to do exclusively girl dresses. :) I think most clothes from the store require some form of tailoring to really fit someone well. Perhaps a custom blazer is something you want to invest in :)

      Hello, I have a classic/soft classic body type. Block colours look good on me. I tend to wear a slightly cropped square t-shirt. It should have dropped shoulders. And then some high waisted trousers. You can get cotton ones which are very comfortable but also have a slightly tailored look. Keep jewelry classical and simple. Have well made shoes. You need to keep that proportion that you naturally have :)

    Interesting, I always have the same length of hair since I was a girl, it’s a little bit over the shoulder length. Although I am pretty tall, longer hair somehow just doesn’t look good on me.

      It’s true - I love how I look just after I put my makeup on and my hair is still wet and slicked back (before I blow dry it).
      Also, I wanted lonnng hair and extensions ended up looking terrible on me IMO. I think I look best with a lob.

    I do like Marion in the black dress with a few small pieces of her hair out nearer her face that is a little softer, as well as with her hair very strongly pulled back. It is probably a personal preference. I feel the same about Kirsten Dunst. Or their hair being a little more medium length and falling over their shoulders (but I agree with the early pic that her hair looks weighted down; I don't know if that was just a little past how long I would like her hair or if it could be fixed with styling. I did also like Marion with her hair a bit longer past her shoulders, just not so long it looked weighed down, and with her hair behind her ears tucked. With her and Kirsten (and I think a lot of SC's), if their hair is soft, not beachy or more than one shade (the ombre is terrible, and the messy natural hair and too rounded like what some Romantics might do, though in modern times most Romantic celebs are kind of all over the place with straightness/waves/curl types as far as how they where them irl).
    I also didn't like Marion with the half pull back and black and white -- but it did also look messy, but not in the intentional "good" messy like she keeps her bob. I think that made it worse and looked dragging, excessively long though it might not have been at all. Unkempt which is the worst factor, I think. I do think Classics, along with probably a lot of Dramatics maybe ? look unusually good with the more severe pull backs, but I think the romantic influence of SC's makes, in my opinion, a few very whispy tendrils or loose carefully chosen pieces and longer hair as long as it is out of the eyes and styled not to drag things that can work. As long as there is relative simplicity still and tidiness (the whole look). The second side hair of Marion, more in a ponytail, it didn't look weighed down at me. Maybe because it looked more orderly in the low ponytail. And it depends on the person. I do like Marion best in a bob, but some pics I do really like her with hair down to her shoulder blades.
    The older SC, Catherine Deneveuve, I really liked her orderly longer hair as well as when she made it curled above the shoulders. Her hair was always very tidy, partial pull backs, hair up, lots of styles for her era. Never in her face, always controlled -- medium or long, it was always great imo due to how she wore it controlled and off her face and not dragging. Same with Meryl Streep I think -- she has a longer face and her hair down and long seems to suit her personally though most people (and SC's) such length wouldn't be suiting, but the simplicity is part of what suits her. And off of her face (even though she often doesn't pull it back, it is never styled "in her face."
    I liked how you mentioned no ornamentation or just completely plain can be not the best for SC's. While everyone, especially Classics, can look great in something more plain if it is perfect, there is a misconception that Classics have to be "boring." They have their own ways of incorporating more interesting pieces, and fittedness matters a lot, and every SC will be a little bit different in what works on them, certainly, and what they feel they can pull off, but it used to be people felt doomed to monochrome and no patterns and almost no accessorizing accept for traditional, almost invisible pieces that suit only a small proportion's style. Classics can pull off a wide range -- just customizing things to themselves as far as how to wear something/their version of something.
    Sorry this is so long. I tend to overdescribe. I just was working out I think why I slightly like a couple things that don't work for you (I think personal preference) and how I think off the face and tidiness probably is the key to SC hair and then maybe each person has a maximum length they can go/a length range as a Classic/SC? Since they are moderate types that would make sense...

      For soft classics, it is best to go with a hairstyle that is softly polished and refined. Usually, that hairstyle falls into the a-bit-below-the-shoulder and above, but it really depends on the individual :)

    Interesting. Maybe I am a sn after all. I recently cut my hair to shoulder length and it looks terrible. I wish I had kept it long 😭 but idk cause I posted on the reddit r/kibbe and everyone but one person said sc but I swear the mirror picture was weirdly angled cause people were saying that they didn't see broadness in my shoulders or waist but I swear in real life its very obvious. Also the mirror picture made my legs appear a lot longer, and I know I've always been self conscious of having short legs so I thought that was weird. Also naturally, even before kibbe, I've always kind of dressed with a sn vibe- flowing unstructured dresses, long unstyled beachy hair, sneakers. I'm just confused cause literally every one said sc but I really feel that doesn't resonate with me.

      @@meriemzerarti4215 I'm a soft classic and cut my hair from long to short (although it's more of a lob now) and found that it tends to suit me much better because it's easier to achieve polished hair styles. It's not a necessity though, some people have a kibbe type that is quite different from their face/head (i.e. Sophie Turner is popular typed as a flamboyant natural but because she has dramatic bone structure in her face she rocks the dead straight, side-swept hair perfectly).
