Where's Nathan Peterman's 5 INT game against LA? He threw 5 INT's in ONE HALF?! What a 🐐
Lambeau doing his thing keeping Jim Hardy in the game
Nathan Peterman #HOF2020
Defensive player of the year
Greatest defensive player of all time, no question.
@Harry Engel Dick "Night Train" Lane, was it not?
Eddie Jackson’s game against the Panthers in 2017 was insane. He single handed lily won, with a 75 yard pick 6, and a 75 yard TD scoop and score.
He was a rookie.
He really did that was the only reason Chicago won that game
TheAnimationLads beardown. BOJACK
TheAnimationLads tbh he could of been on the list
I was literally gonna just comment the same thing, I think it at least deserves an honorable mention
camthecarguy agreed
Just realized #7 gave us "The Bears are who we THOUGHT they were!"
"And we let em' off the hook"
IlGreven literally hesters last minute return was unforgettable. Dennis Green will forever be a legend in Chicago for his epic rant RIP 🙏🏿
If you wanna crown em, CROWN EM
You wanna crown em?!? Then Crown their ass!!! THEY ARE WHO WE THOUGHT THEY WERE
I thought so.
You can make the case that Cam Newton hasn't been the same since Von Miller ate him up for dinner.
I've seen that LT game vs the Saints and indeed that was a game where a guy totally willed himself to not only play, but play at a high level. I love that this list ended up with an old time classic player being #1 but man, it had to be someone picking apart poor ol' Dan Fouts. Honestly, 3 of those INTs were more his fault than anything else.
what you said about cam newton is sad but true
Well he wasn’t that good before then either so
cam has been banged up come on now!! And you know that superbowl was rigged for Denver.
You can make the case that Colin Kaepernick hasn’t been the same since Jimmy Smith mugged crabtree in the end zone
dealyboyz you mean when Crabtree grabbed Smith facemask?
My favorite part of this video is at 1:36 watching that Jets' right tackle get pushed backward like he's wearing roller skates.
pschmiedt I thought this was a joke/exaggeration but my dude wasn’t even lying a little... He slid backwards in a perfectly still pose like a figure skater getting ready to do a lift lmfao
pschmiedt tbh it isn’t his fault, I’ve played in conditions like that and no matter what you do you cant stop yourself from sliding everywhere. Still hilarious
Dolphins end that pushed him back got clipped by an illegal block in the back after too.
5:16 not gonna lie that might be the best camera quality of any game in the 40s
5:23 Looks like a Mahomes pass about 80 years ago instead Mahomes completes it
That's because it's remastered
I wish JPP’s SNF game against the Cowboys in 2011 was on this list. He was absolutely all over the field and if I remember right he had 2.5 sacks, a forced fumble, and the game winning blocked kick that helped propel the Giants into the playoffs and eventually the Super Bowl that year
Two games for LT? No question he's the greatest defensive player ever!
No doubt. LT should have had two spots. In both contests....if LT doesn't do what he did the Giants lose.
How does Ed reed with a pick, blocker field goal, sack, fumble recovery and a Def TD not make this list
Israel Thomas because they decided to put a guy who had 4 INTs in the fucking 40’s... lame ass list lol
@@huh8896 Most QBs averaged about 4 INTs per game back in the 40's... Ok I'm embellishing the facts a little bit, but not that much. Even greats of the era like Unitas and Namath consistently had games where they'd throw a couple picks. However, QBs didn't get protection from a dozen different rules like they do today. I'd be slinging the rock into double coverage on occasion too if I got hammered by old school D every pass attempt. An interception beats a broken leg every day of the week in my book!
Word.
they probably have autism
Israel Thomas Reed is the only player in NFL history to score touchdowns off a punt return, blocked punt, interception and fumble recovery, however, he never did all of the things you listed in one game.
Where’s Deangelo Hall’s 4 interception (and a td) day against Jay Cutler and the Bears?
It was against Cutler......that is like semi pro ball.
If I remember correctly, they were all in the 2nd half. That has to at least garner an honorable mention.
Ditto.
Basically all 4 were on Cutler, and it wasn’t a big game so it makes sense why it wasn’t on the list
We don’t speak about cutler anymore 🐻⬇️
Charles Tilman was always one of my favorites.
I actually had his jersey and not Urlachers during those years. Tillman was always in the big games making plays when needed most. Dude was a legend. A FF and turnover machine. Loved Peanut Tillman
He never could pull the peanut punch against Calvin Johnson
@@kyriea but he could cover him better than most
I’m a Packer fan and even I loved him! I have no idea why defensive players hardly ever try to punch the ball out like Peanut always did.
I saw a little boy the other day with a peanut punch tee shirt on, wow what memories 😁
You know how LT stayed in the game with the injured arm???
Crack
Mr Front no, you do realize Crack/Cocaine is proven to hinder athletic performances as it puts more stress in the heart so LT playing on crack and playing well means he was just that much better than everybody else
@Samuel Hsu it was a joke
Weed
No schmuck putz
Samuel Hsu i think he’s referencing more the fact that coke significantly elevated your pain tolerance
Thanks for compiling this legendary list. Very goat-like of you.
Still waiting for you to fight Kojiro thoight.
3:52 Derrick Thomas may have had 7 sack against us but we still got the W.
Krieg to Skansi 🙌
Is this an omen for tomorrow? This could go either way with Dee Ford just obliterating Seattle's offense, or Seattle pulling a last-second TD on the Chiefs, letting Seattle win the game.
Either way, with KC and SEA fans in the stands of Whatever-the-name-of-Seattle's-stadium-is Stadium, this should get pretty loud.
How come y'all ain't run the ball at the 1 yard line?
Chase right smh
Chase he dont know he just jumped on the bandwagon in 2013.
@@menitojr6066 yeah the official page jumped on the bandwagon huh?
Aside from 4 passing TDs on Offense & 4 interceptions on Defense, "Slinging" Sammy Baugh was also a Punter on Special Teams & even led the league in Punting one year as well. The man is a Legend in every sense of the word. That type of production will never be seen again!!
Surprised JJ Watt wasn't on here. Also, Miller usually gets all the credit for that SB performance, but you could also say that Demarcus Ware was just as, if not more impactful on the SB and AFC championship games than Miller.
Tyler Livingston Facts
Von millers resume
Rookie of the year
Superbowl MVP
Pro bowl MVP
98 sacks in 8 seasons
7 pro bowl appearances in 8 seasons
Yeah guys hes not special at all
@@julsc2106 Where exactly did I say he wasn't special?
@@tylerlivingston7445 you are making it sound like ware made miller Brady once said miller is just as good as LT. ware was amazing but miller wrecks the game like nobody since taylor and D thomas
@iamsuchahotfaggot 69 First, your name made me laugh my ass off.
Second, the reason Miller gets recognized more is because you're right, he definitely made the difference making plays. But if you want to talk about consistent pressure throughout the game, Ware was no doubt more consistent. Especially in the AFC championship game where he alone hit Brady like 7 times, had 2 sacks, and was consonantly in his face. The pressure he put on Brady on the last drive the Pats had was incredible. I don't think I've ever a defensive player take over a drive like that before. Like literally 75% of the plays on that last drive he was getting pressure on the QB.
My point is the things that Ware did in those two games he don't necessarily show up on the box score, like getting pressure on a 3rd down to force a 3 and out, or forcing an early incomplete pass (did this so many times against Brady that I lost count, so many of those passes were close to intentional grounding too). And because of that his effort largely gets grazed over and overshadowed by Miller, and that's not to say Miller didn't play fantastic, because he absolutely did. I just think that Ware was better.
LT against the saints was one for me. He did it on National TV with one arm.
Hey!! I remember when they'd let defense play defen...
*flag out of nowhere*
God damnit.
Haha I like what you did there 😂
Roughing the passer. Clay Matthews. 15 yard penalty.
They should make quarterbacks where maxipads. Especially phillip rivers
100th like
I remember when every one had CTE and 30 concussions a game, a bunch mentally I'll people trying to kill each other, great ideamlets being that back, I mean so what if the players want normal brain activity because this game is about the fans they do what we want! How dare the players want to not die how dare them what a bunch of pussies for wanting to be safe🤬
Richard Dent NFC divisonal game 1985 7 tackles, 3 and 1/2 sacks, 2 ff
The respect shown to the players of the past, especially the lesser known ones, is why I love this channel. Thank you Mr. Harrison! You are becoming my modern day Mr. Steve Sabol.
You guys forgot James Washington's performance against Buffalo in Super Bowl 28. Forced a fumble, recovered a fumble and returned it for a TD to tie the score, intercepted a pass that eventually lead to the game clinching TD, and led the Cowboys in tackles with 11.
Vernon Perry followed that up with a pick six against Pittsburgh in the AFC CHAMPIONSHIP game. He basically kept the Steeler dynasty alive one more year. Because if San Diego has done what they needed to do, they would’ve hosted Pittsburgh and likely smoked them again. They had the formula to beat Noll’s team but only played them once in the playoffs...that forgotten 31-28 comeback win in the 82 tournament. People talk about the 80 team and rightfully so, but 79 was theirs for the taking too.
GREAT CHOICE with Vernon Perry. And he followed it up with a pick six against the Steelers in the AFC Championship. The only TD they scored in two title games against the back to back champs.
I'm starting to really love this channel
Greatest single-game defense Vernon Perry of Houston Oilers 1979 AFC divisional playoffs amazing
Immediately upon seeing this title of your video I told myself "He had better have Vernon Perry's performance!" And you did!!! At number one! I saw this game as it happened. And you know what's crazy? In the next game against the Steelers in the AFC Championship he took ANOTHER interception for a 75 yard TD on the opening drive. In 63 minutes of post-season play.... 5 ints and a pic six. Wow. Bravo for putting this at #1. Subscribed!
Great commentary job he brings us in with a great docile personality and let's us enjoy the great plays that helps us understand what we are seeing. Best narrator I've seen on a video like this
All of those were incredible, well done sir 👏🏻
Derrick Thomas 7 sack game. (I’m saying this before the video)
Thats the greatest and I'm a broncos fan
But......the Chiefs LOST the game. Sort of defeats the purpose, no? Not to mention.......Thomas whiffed on the potential 8th sack and allowed QB Dave Krieg to complete a pass to WR Paul Skansi for the Seahawks victory. Derrick Thomas was a one-dimensional player.
He's literally in the thumbnail. Of course you should be saying this before you watch the video.
He needed that 8th!! 🤦🏻♂️RIP DT💪🏼
@@byrongammonbyrongammon9937 one dimensional? Well if your gonna be one dimensional then i rather sack a quarterback then punt the football.
This guy narrating this NFL throwback is a star...great voice...great dialogue...I truly enjoyed this episode..✌️😁
Ronde Barber versus Donovan McNabb in the NFC championship game. All anyone remembers is the pick 6 that shut the Vet down, but there was so much more! Many passes defended, blitzes, sack/fumble and the pick 6. That was just in the second half! Definitely worth an honorable mention!
Lawrence Taylor has to be number one 🤷🏿♂️
Sick video bro. Don't stop.
How you give LT 2 games in the number 2 spot. They should be number 3 and 2 on the list. GOAT
Adrian Clayborn’s 6 sack game against the cowboys
Antonio Cromartie’s 3 picks against Peyton Manning
Oh my goodness gracious Harrison. I thought it would slip beneath your notice, but it actually ended up at #1.
I was thinking "ah ha, he forgot the Vernon Perry game from the 1979 divisional playoff between the Oilers and Chargers". But nope, you were on the money as usual. I salute you sir!!!!
People always forget about Derrick Thomas. He’s the second best edge rusher ever to player
Not nearly as forgotten as Andre Tippett
If he played on any other team other than the Pats who were terrible back then, would have been compared to L.T
DT almost had 8 sacks that game also had forced fumble. That performance should be way higher on this list imo.
I know kc lost that game but damn 7 sacks
Also has another game with 6 sacks. Ultimate Bad Ass
Probably the greatest pass rusher of all time. Up there with Deacon Jones and LT
@@averagefella and Reggie
I agree with you and I'm a Broncos fan
@@averagefella ....but that is the problem. A pass rusher....is ALL that Derrick Thomas was. He couldn't defend the run....he couldn't drop into coverage either. Imagine this......Derrick Thomas was supposed to be Kansas City's BEST defensive player in the 1993 NFL season, yes? Then how come...during the 1993 AFC Championship Game vs the Buffalo Bills his own team BENCHED him for the entire second half to give the defense a better chance at stopping Buffalo's rushing attack headed by Thurman Thomas?
Derrick Thomas was no 'Ultimate Bad Ass'. He was just 'LIMITED'. Bill Cowher was his linebacker coach and he said Thomas coasted on his talent and wasn't very coachable. he could only do one thing......rush the QB on obvious passing downs.
Derrick Thomas couldn't carry Lawrence Taylor's jock strap.
@@byrongammonbyrongammon9937 notice I never said he was the greatest defensive player of all time. Purely pass rushing
YES!!! Love it!! Please give us more defense related stuff!!! I miss the hits. The violence. Bring back defense and il actually watch football again
Charles Woodson 2009 vs Cowboys
A team-high 9 tackles (8 solo), 2 TFLs, 2 forced fumbles, a sack and a key late-game interception at the goal line in the Packers' 17-7 win over the Cowboys, sparking Green Bay's late-season 7-1 run and an eventual Wild Card berth. Also in route to his DPOY.
i love how this list has no-names and absolute legends...it shows you that any given Sunday someone (or a legend) can rise to the occasion and make history
R.I.P Greene I will never forget that interview 😭
I would've liked to see Derrick Brooks, that super bowl season he was a scoring machine
Not in the NFL but I'm 11 and on my 6th grade team I got 79 tackles 3 interceptions 5 forced fumbles and 17 sacks in 8 games.
Charles "Peanut' Tillman for the HOF!!!
Best RUclips football commentary
Deangleo hall had four picks in game and that’s a honorable mention at the very least disrespectful
860 rj *in a half
Not when the Qb Is Jay Cutler lol you got a point thou
Me? LT verse Detroit was the the best display of dominance on the defensive side. He SINGLE HANDEDLY was the difference maker in that game. HIM and only HIM. All these other games were cool, but that one tops the list. Even his game verse NO was nothing short of legendary, but it doesn’t top his performance in Detroit. Greatest defensive player ever, showed the greatest defensive display , ever, in Detroit.
DT was a beast, back during that 1990 Seahawks vs Chiefs game... Alas, the effort would prove to be not quite enough, because Dave Krieg made a brilliant move to avoid being sacked by DT for the eighth time, and hit Paul Skansi on a beautiful high arcing hail-mary game winning TD pass! I love it when a local PacNW football star goes to UW and eventually becomes & retires (later on) a Seattle Seahawks! Number 82 was awesome...
Go 'Hawks!!
The Oilers had another great defensive performance Christmas Day 1993. The Oilers played the 49ers at Candlestick when the Niners had the highest-scoring offense in the NFL and the Oilers had only one healthy starter in their secondary. Steve Young, Jerry Rice and John Taylor would eat them alive, right?
The Oilers only scored 10 points but Buddy Ryan's defense shut the 49ers out until they managed an "Oh, by the way..." TD late in the game.
#58 one of my favorite players
7:30 that was a crazy defensive effort he went above and beyond for that tackle😭
Brian urlacher vs the cards was the greatest performance I've personally ever watched. He was everywhere on that field
Rod Martin’s 3 interceptions of Ron Jaworski in SB XV. The tandem of Mike Haynes and Lester Hays job in SB XVIII to the Redskins receivers as well.
1:37 look at that blocker's nonexistent footing as he slides across the mud LOL
I'm glad you guys gave respect to Sammy Baugh. He played both sides of the field like Chuck Bednarik. Baugh could also kick the ball as well whenever a punter was needed
1:37 I have to admit, I laughed out loud when i saw the tackel :D
About 2 months after the Raiders beat Philly, our faculty played the Raiders in a charity basketball game. They were all really good guys. Art Shell cut his hand on the rim.... nobody really looking to take a charge there...
And we absolutely could not guard Rod Martin. When the Madden called his buddy John Robinson about Martin, Robinson said "take him. You don't have anybody better."
2:51 "The Bears...are...WHO WE THOUGHT THEY WERE!!!"
Against the Raiders in 1998 led by jeff george (I think) Derrick Thomas also had six sacks, Thomas caused a safety, forced a fumble, and had nine solo tackles in the game. One of the greatest pass rushers ever....
*L.T. versus the Detroit Lions should be number one hands down!!!*
Number one is a great story because it was such a big upset. I’d like to see NFL Throwback with Elliot Harrison do a whole feature on it.
4 INTs AND 4 TD passes? WTF? That's insane! How have I never heard that? I have heard of "Slingin" Sammy Baugh, but that is stupid. I just looked him up & in 1943 dude led the NFL in punting yards, passing yards, & INTs (caught) with 11 INTs!!! That is Redonkey!!! P
I think intercepting Peyton Manning 3 times in a game should be on the list
7:30 look at that lineman LT jumps over twice 😂
I know it's just one play, but Malcom Butler Pick 6 in Super Bowl needs to be here. That was the clutchest defensive play I've ever seen, plus Seahawks should have ran the damn ball
“We are who we thought they were and we let ‘em off the hook!”
RIP Coach Green
Seahawks fan here, i watched the derrick thomas game. One of the few highlights for the hawks in the 90s.
I still remember the MNF game between the Bears and the Cardinals. With Arizona up by 20, Tony Kornheiser said that if the Cardinals lose this game they should just close the place down and turn it into a pizza parlor. Six minutes later the Cardinals had blown it, but sadly no pizza parlor was ever to come.
As soon as I clicked this video I was waiting for James Harrisons performance against my ravens.
That Derrick Thomas game was amazing. Best game by one player I’ve ever seen. Should’ve had 1 or 2 more sacks if I remember correctly
Thomas missed the 8th sack and because of this the Seahawks won the game. That sums up Thomas' career.
Redskins @ Bears, October 24th, 2010: DeAngelo Hall had 4 interceptions (One of which was a 92 yard pick six) and 7 solo tackles. He should definitely be on this list.
Lawrence Taylor......was ROBBED. Dan Fouts should get credit for assisting Vernon Perry. Fouts was throwing up jump balls.
Lawrence Taylor was injured in BOTH of those games. He had a knee injury against Detroit and a pectoral injury against New Orleans....and he willed the Giants to victory in both games.
In the Saints game, QB Phil Simms, ILB Harry Carson, and OLB Carl Banks were all sidelined with injuries. With Lawrence Taylor's effort he Giants defense held the Saints to four field goals and zero touchdowns.
A.J. Duhe had an all time performance. The weather/conditions played so much of a factor in that game, and Duhe was the ultimate beneficiary.
#1 single game offensive performance Billy Cannon Dec.10 1961. 25 carries 216yds 3 rush tds 5 catches 114yds 2 rec tds.
I really did not want to have to mention Lewis in SB35 not being mentioned. Anchored one of the top three best defensive super bowl performances ever 💯
The Mack Guy For the raiders just had a football speed bag at home he just is always punching it,
That 2014 draft class was fire
Also the 2011
Eric Berry's 8 point game against the falcons was great too,
Aldon Smith’s “Lights Out” game against the Steelers on MNF?
LT’s closing speed is almost as fast as him trying to get to his Columbia’s Caviar dealer at the end of the night...
As a CB, I loved that shout out to all the shutdown corners whom QBs r 2 scared to throw at.
Luke kuechly vs saints 2013 24 tackles and a pick
one you'll never hear of is Pat Chung against the dolphins in 2010. blocked punt which resulted in a touchdown two plays later, blocked kick which was recovered for a touchdown, intercepted a pass and returned it for a touchdown all in one half.
4 interceptions is crazy 🤪 🏈🏈🏈🏈. I wonder if that’s more receptions then either the starting first, second, or slot receivers on San Diego?
Adrian Clayborn's 6 sacks last year was cool to watch
Don’t forget in that Harrison game one of the forced fumbles came on special teams when he lit up Ed Reed so hard Ed thought Hines Ward must’ve decided to play special teams...
I Feel like Kwon Alexander’s game against the Falcons could’ve been an honorable mention.
11 Tackles
1 INT (almost 2, with a BIG return for the first one that was called back on a penalty)
1 FR
Not the greatest performance on this list, but it was still an incredibly dominant night for Alexander. And honestly, the fact that he dedicated that game to his (then) recently dead brother made it THAT much more impactful.
The peanut punch is one of the most iconic moves in nfl history
Damn I was thinking Eric Berry with pick 2 and pick 6 against Atlanta. But good picks to be fair
Could you find highlights from the Lions vs. Eagles “Snow Bowl” game from 2013?
Where’s Khalil Mack vs Packers week 1😏
Guess I can’t trash talk cause we just lost and he had 2.5 sacks
Yup. This is our division my guy.
and a L... 🤷♂💯
I know but the fact that he was only
There a week and didn’t know the playbook as well and no pre season reps and he dominated the game that should be top 3
As a Raiders fan, that Week 14 match vs the Broncos is one of the greatest performance I've ever seen from a player. Khalil Mack won us that game. I love Mack and hope he continues to succeed in Chicago.
arsenal4thew beardown
Darren Sharper vs Eli, chuck howley SB, randy white and harvey martin SB
AJ Duhe....thanks for the mention.
James Harrison probably should have gotten top 5 because he did almost everything a defensive player could do just in a single game.
Should be included: James Washington, CB, Dallas in Super Bowl 28. 11 tackles, one interception, a forced fumble, and a fumble recover returned 46 yards for a TD. Should have been MVP.
Wasn't James Washington a Safety?
Brian Urlocher was an absolute beast at linebocker. They won that game, but it cost them the superbowl.
wow amazing how many recent games were on this list, so like 6 of the greatest games ever played happened in the last 15 years, wonder how NFL stuck around the previous 85 years.
Wow the 1943 footage looks amazing! Curious as to how this is achieved?
I love those Oiler’s uniforms. I wish Houston would go back to these. Hard to root for the Texans if you’re not from there.
