Seems a worthwhile upgrade, I have ordered an orbiter 2 and will give this a go. Still on original Bowden setup. Been happy with X carriage so far so a worthy upgrade.
Sorry if I am late to the Party, but you dont have to change the controllboard for klipper. I installed Klipper on my i3 Mega using the original controllboard and a raspberry pi zero 2W. And it runs perfect.
Can anyone supply a specific link to the Orbiter V2 kit for the Anycubic i3 Mega.......the link in the description just takes me to a generic page and I can't see any Anycubic specific direct drive kits.
@ThisDesignedThat Hello, I already installed klipper and I have it working perfectly, thank you very much for your videos and I am waiting for that update of the anicubic i3 mega s without changing the serial board since I am following your videos, I encourage you to continue forward, I encourage you to put the screen touch and speeds of 120 I have the touch screen with klipper screen and another touch screen with mainsail and a wireless klipper screen but I would like to see the fast hotend thanks again

Definitely a worthwhile upgrade, recommend switching to direct drive from Bowden if you already have the mega x

Thanks for this information! You've given me another reason why I should switch 👍

On a side note, you mentioned easy to unlevel the bed early in the video. Upgrade to silicone mounts and this problem will pretty much be gone.
This is something I've been meaning to install for a few months now. I will purchase some soon. Thanks for reminding me
Any chance you have added the filament sensor? Trying to find a way to wire it on my Mega S.
What adjustments do you have to make when adding a magnetic PEI so the nozzle doesn't crash into the bed?
I just moved the bed down using the adjustment knobs
my printer is almost identical. i use a garolite bed . since i added the Sherpa style extruder the only thing i have a issue with is my z seam.
Z seam seems to be an issue across most printers so I wouldn't worry about it too much
So you removed the glass for a magnetic pad? Or went over the glass
Went over the glass. Just had to adjust z offset
Install a BTT Pad 7 to the printer. Working greath for me with stock motherboard.
Never seen this before, looks like a great option, thanks for sharing
@@ThisDesignedThat FYI, it's on sale on the official website now!
What hotend should I upgrade to?
How about filament sensor? Can I use a sensor that is already in the printer and not change its position?
Yes you could do, it will detect whether filament is there or not, doesn't really matter what position it is in
Hello, can you do a tutorial on how to configure klipper on the anicubic i3 mega s since I installed Klipper but it doesn't work for me?
I haven't got round to installing klipper myself yet but I will try to make a tutorial if I do
JJshankles has a great tutorial although its a bit of outdated it still works
