After losing my dad in 2021 of April, it's been hard but watching these videos of you and your dad spending time together and doing what you both love to do just makes my day that much easier. My 5.3 swap has more vibration than I think it should have also, yet to figure it out.
That's how I felt in my monte carlo 09 6.0 turbo and had no camera
Yeah pappatron liked it but that sucks if it did tear up the bearings but like you said hard parts done and yeah he liked the boost and he never said anything about nitrous lol
He got the motor pulled apart today and there was definitely an oil starvation issue. It tore up a lot of bearings
Aw man. That sucks. Oh well. I ho I ho off to junkyard we go to grab another 5.3👍🏿

Who cares if people talk smack about the engine blowing 😂 I remember I built a 5.3 for my obs swap and I cheaped out on buying new lifters and used the old ones. One month after install a lifter started ticking hard and I didn’t feel like pulling the heads of just to change lifters so I swapped a 6.0 and put the 5.3 aside for another project. About a year later I bought a 2000 ws6 trans am with a blown ls1 (threw a rod and destroyed the block and both heads) so I decided to swap the 5.3 in. Tore the motor down and put it back together and swapped it…… since it sat a whole year I forgot about the bad lifter and put it back in without even checking them.
That was the last time I was lazy when building an engine cuz it sucks to do it more then once 🤣 live and learn

Glad to see hes likin the boost, but he doesnt need another junkyard motor. Even a “built”shortblock with gen 4 rods and forged pistons. Hell be good for acouple years with that.

Ridiculous how much people put in spend on building , then just jump-in take- off and mash-on-it till it tore-up again too funny 🤣..
There's a lot off camera that doesn't get seen. We had the truck up to temp idling many times before taking it down the road. And this is the type of issue that even if we drove it nice and gently never going past 30% throttle it would've happened anyway lol
I hate that you hurt the engine. It kind of discourages me when building my 5.3, don’t want to spend my time putting it all together and have something like that happen so soon. Can’t wait to see what’s wrong, hopefully it’s only a rod bearing.
Don't be scared of something going wrong, man. That's like being scared of premature ejaculating, so you just never get in bed with a girl lol sometimes you prejac a little, sometimes you pop a motor. Clean things up, and learn from what happened and go for round 2 lol

Stock leafs, stock rear end with a spool and 4.10's. Its lasted way longer than its had any right to lol

Thats just the nature of hot rods. I know a guy down the road from my dad who doesn't race his car at all, sbc Malibu, and he's on his 2nd engine in 2 years, and had it rebuilt already. Had a 350, went to a 406. Put that in and it started to eat something. Pulled it back out and had to go through it again.
Pops is definitely happy and that's all that matters doing what u guys love fuck all the hatters

“He loves the boost” comment was all that was needed lol, so much for the indestructible LS life though. Amazing how some of them shits can take abuse for months and never frag a rocker and some just die on start up, thats a used engine though....never know what they been through before you. Like you said, hard part is done now just a simple long block swap and he can get some passes in so we can see the big smile when you throw some real boost to it
