    A few have pointed out that the earlier Mk1s were actually built by UTDC, and yes that is true.

      Yes it wasn't until 1992 when UTDC merged with Bombardier Transportation. Speaking of, Bombardier Transportation actually merged with Alstom in 2021, i.e. it's products are still available, but you know, just sold by Alstom instead.

    The Alexander Dennis buses should actually have the same or more capacity than the 60ft’s -
    They are a British bus maker and when I was in Hong Kong in 2019, their buses there that are similar can be rated for as much as 146 passengers.
    Also, the current recommended Covid safe load is about 55 ~ 60, compared to 45 ~ 50 on the 60fts and 30~35 on the 40fts.

      Articulated buses actually hold more passengers (standing however). Double deckers have very limited standing room.

    May 2023:
    57 deckers now in service, all 2001 Orions are retired and scrapped.

    remember when most of the comunity shuttles started with the letter c and then a number after it it like for example the 147 now used to be C7

    • @jmstransit
      @jmstransit  3 года назад

      I remember what it was like from before they had the C-series routes - I can assure you there are a ton of inconsistencies for C-series routes that *should* have gone back to their old numberings.
      C7 would have been better as route 114 or 115 but we cant change that now

    D60LFRS are not just in PoCo, Burnaby also has some since D60LFRS are sometimes seen on 257 and 99. You also forgot the Burrard Chinook

      Not in Fall 2020 (the time of posting)!
      Unsure when an update comes out though - shuttles portion is largely outdated.

    Woner what does this beeping sound means at 1:33?

    • @edy21865
      @edy21865 Год назад

      The beeping sound is just a nearby crosswalk speaker beeping. There's one beep every second as you may notice, It's mainly to aid visually impared people. When a visualy impared person is guided to the crosswalk button by the steady beeping noise, they can press it to activate the crossing sequence. Once it is time to cross, an automated voice will also sound from a nearby speaker saying "walk sign is on, walk sign is on..." After that a countdown will begin and the voice will say "twenty, nineteen, eighteen, seventeen... all the way to one." Then the crossing sequence will be over and the crossing speaker will resume beeping.

    Very interesting! Where are most of the buses made from?

    • @jmstransit
      @jmstransit  3 года назад

      Good question - I'm not entirely sure on the exact ratio or percentage but generally it's based on manufacturer. NovaBuses tend to be built in Quebec while our New Flyers are built in Minnesota (despite New Flyer being headquartered in Winnipeg if you're curious). I am not too sure about the shuttle buses though, but I have a hunch that those are made somewhere Langley.
