Oh you like buses? Name all the buses.
CHALLENGE. ACCEPTED.
There's way too many exceptions that I left out some on purpose. Otherwise the video would be 2 hours long. See if you can spot the oddball runs, for example, clips that have the oddball bus running on the route.

Pinning a bunch of addennums:
December 2023: R6 is added, 231 routes now.
August 2023: There will STILL be 230 routes as of September 2023. In April, the 80 express was added while the 226 was deleted. September will see the 258 replaced by the 44 which cuts us back by 1, but the splitting of route 103 in New West into 102 and 103 will bring us back to 230.
17:19 257 is operated by CMBC. Mentioned in the route listing but for some reason I failed to mention it on the WVMT summary.
31:23 311, 351, 352, 354, and 601-604 all used to terminate at Burrard Station. But the 604 was the unique case where the local telephone area code was a route # paired with the name of the city which it served! Think of it as route 616 Toronto or route 408 San Jose

Omg! Someone who has talked about the 27 is rare! I take the 27 a lot and I am happy to see someone talk about it. The day of time when you took the picture was perfect, it was sunny along with some shade. I found that the angle was meh but if you took it from the front next to the trees at Joyce, you would’ve just made my day with that picture. I hope I see you talk about the 27 more in the future! 😁(subscribing to your channel)
Here's the whole story:
The old, old, old 35 was eliminated due to the new evening service on the 135.
The 135 was proposed to be upgraded to B-Line and to be renumbered 96.
Later, the B-Line number became changed into 95.
Then the 135 was replaced by the 95 B-Line.
Then the 95 B-Line was replaced by the R5 Hastings St RapidBus.
Earlier, the NightBus routes were Owl routes, until all of them were discontinued due to a funding shortfall.
They were rebranded NightBus in 2004.
The two deleted NightBus routes were discontinued due to low ridership: the N6 and N16.

Nice video. Well done. If you ever do an updated version or edit this one, just so you know, the pronunciation of the destination of the 748 is Whonnock. But it is pronounced similar to the word tonic. Much different from how you said it. Just FYI. 😂 Also, out of interest, The 749 has a flag stop on 284th St., just south of Dewdney Trunk Road. This is actually the furthest east point served by a TL bus on a REGULAR schedule. (Not including the few 701s that go to Mission). Just some more info for you. 😊

341 used to be 334 when I was a kid. 375 is the original 345. 335 used to call short runs 332 Guildford.

Fun Fact 155 used to terminate at the Coquitlam Rec Center (Now Porier Rec Center) but in 2002 the 155's terminus was moved to Braid Station and the route 153 replaced the portion between Coq Rec Center and Braid Station. Poco still operated the route from there to 22nd street Station until 2016 when the route was moved to HTC operations due to the closure of the NVTC
September 2016 was wild

Before that, in 2004-2013...I saw Frutiger and Plantin (skytrain) in most documents and non-signage projects

I definatly take the 49 the most, but I have also been taking the busses in Richmond often lately like the 430 and 407
3:08 The 25 bus is probably the only route connecting all three Skytrain lines.
Good point - as far as daytime buses, there are a few more. The 16 connects to the Canada Line downtown while making stops at Renfrew and 29th Avenue Stations.
The 20 also connects with Canada Line downtown and with the Expo and Millennium Lines at Commercial-Broadway Station.
Then there's the current 9/99 which makes the connection at Broadway City Hall and both Expo and Millennium Lines at Commercial-Broadway Station.
And if you want you could count the 22 with downtown connections and a stop near VCC-Clark Station.
connecting all three Skytrain lines without heading to downtown and with 3 separate, non-interchange stations I guess :)

My most used route used to be the 8 and R4... but then I moved, now my best friend is the 112

The image I know on bus 281 is 17551 at snug cove ferry terminal waiting for it's next departure

Fun fact the 106 used to go to Metrotown before and the 129 used to go along Canada way but 106 and 119 are split routes in 2017 the 106 was discontinued to Metrotown this was to improved readability in September 2020
there used to be a 107 before the 106 took over
A big problem I see is most routes are too short. For example from Burnaby to north shore you have to transfer twice. Only some 130 and 28 goes on second narrows bridge and they end directly at Phibbs Exchange. If they extend R2 to kootenay loop or combine R2 with 130 as one line it would be much more convenient
Been hearing about a combined park Royal-Phibbs-Metrotown route in the works, but have yet to see some specifics.
16:19 As far as I know, they’re looking to eliminate this route and replace it with 3 trips on route 44 into west van. Details TBC but that means we’ll be down to 229 for the time being.
You're right. It'll be discontinued in September and I'm not going there until October so pls talk to the translink agency before September😟

At that point you’re looking at a coach operator. Epic Rides and Skylynx operate services from Vancouver to Whistler AFAIK.
36:41 I'm curious about this... what does it mean? Do internally all RapidBus routes start with 8 in the manner of 801 for the R1 or something? Or is it only there for easier archiving?
Technically both - in the computer systems, that's how the RapidBus routes are displayed since the system cannot process letters in the route number.
There are also known internal numbers for non-bus routes. Off the top of my head there is route 980 Canada Line, 996 Millennium Line, and 999 Expo Line.

I tried from westmost to eastmost but not bowen island. Only from ubc to aldergrove,by bus only 49 to granville then 10 to marpole then 100 to 22nd station then 388 to annicis island then 301 to newton then 342 to langley center then 501 to aldergrove
99 is my favourite route the drivers on it are fantastic if you’re in a wheelchair

About the 480 whats funny is that since I always think buses are better I have to take the 430 or 405 from Bridgeport to marine instead of the 480 over the oak bridge

Cumbersome, turn every 5-10 minutes, serve many neighborhoods. Fits the definition of the slang “milk run”
@@JosephLikesTransit on the 110 there was a wrong turn when the driver turned left instead of right and made a U turn in front of a Costco, same with the 152, the driver missed the right turn onto Austin Ave.

There used to be a route 1. It operated from Waterfront Stn and Gastown out to the beach area at Denman and Davie.

I asked the same question but I’ve been told that they serve many neighbourhoods and run every 10-15 minutes that’s probably why the 110 134 136 and 144 are Milk Runs
The 169 does not run on g5s it run on c40lfrs!
