In Switzerland, trolleybusses don't have to slow down at intersections usually, since it's "just" a crossing of the wires in a 90 degree arc, without any switches right before. Most of our actual switches are fast-speed ones, so you can pass them to the left or to the right with up to 40 km/h. The switching happens while you're basically going straight, the actual turn and separation at the intersection happens maybe 100 meters or 150 meters after. We have to watch our speeds at underpasses though (30 km/h max). Raising and lowering the poles happens automatically with the press of a button. When raising automatically, we have to make sure that we're standing at the perfect spot, so the poles can click into the small triangle shaped helpers above the wires.

2156 has sadly been retired after hitting a pole near 41st and Knight
RIP moment of silence for 2156…..
Exactly, plus I have noticed that over the past 6 days there has been only 2018 and 2009 novas running on the 41
@SumiTheTransitFan yeppp I think they were trying to fix the trolley wires along the route that was damaged due to wind storm
Nov 5, 2022 flashbacks😂
How did you get the opportunity to go behind the scenes at the Vancouver transit centre
It was for I ❤️Transit week and TransLink’s media team invited us in to film for a day!
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
May i visit Vancouver transit center anytime or I had to make appointment and do I need to be with a parent
Good question! This was an invite to shoot for their media event! I think regularly you got to submit a request form on translink website.
PO PO switch (Power On Power Off) not pull pull
Thanks for pointing that out!
@@theodoreadventures Your welcome! Sparky
