Thanks for the information. I will be visiting Vancouver in September 2023 coming from Toronto. I already bought my Compass Card via mail, will register it before I leave Toronto. Will be spending 1 week there and then taking the VIA train back to Toronto.
Very entertaining and informative! The "zone" system was very confusing to me at first but this video clarified it for me substantially. Can't wait to visit Vancouver this December :)
This amazing system takes you from anywhere in the valley, up to 80 kms away from Vancouver, or north to the BC FERRY terminal in Horseshoe Bay. This enables a direct connection to a ferry to Vancouver Island. And Canada Line SkyTrain can take you directly into the Vancouver Airport, inside the terminal. These features reduce car cost, parking fees, and is very convenient.
Very informative!!! I have a question, if I need to go from places in zone 1 to a place in zone 2 on week days, do I have to buy zone 1 +zone 2 fare for the compass card?
hi 😀 yes, weekdays before 6pm if u travel from zone 1 to zone 2 on skytrain you will need 2 zone compass card. if you do that trip a lot, a monthly pass for 2 zones might be best for you. if you only do it sometimes, stored value card might make more sense. thanks for watching 😁🙏🏽❣️
with the skytrain u tap in and out when u enter a station and then when u go back out onto the street. with busses u tap each time u get on a bus-no need to tap when u get off. thanks for watching😀😃
I don’t believe you mentioned concession fares for seniors! Also, what about Compass Tickets as opposed to a Compass Card? If I just want a one time trip from Coquitlam to Waterfront Station isn’t it a 3 zone Compass Ticket? So confusing!!
seabus is the same fare system as the skytrain. seabus goes from zone 1 to zone 2, so, cash single ride fare is $4.45. stored value compass card single ride fare is $3.65. daypass ticket is $11.00. ⛴ 🌊 thanks for watching ❣️😃🙏🏽
@@therealJUSTINEPRIESTLEY its similar to the compass smart card so you just load how much money well the presto the minimal is 10 dollars and or more ok
It wasn’t helpful enough how do you know you’re on the right skytrain? How do you know where to get off? Do you have to be there at a specific time? Is it like an elevator? You swipe the card and then they come? Not helpful
1. there are signs pointing the where the right line is, and it also says which direction its heading. the electronic signs also say when the next trains coming 2. the trains speakers clearly say where the next station is, and on the expo line, some of the trains have led signs with lights that indicate where the next stations are 3. yes 4. there are elevators 5. you tap the card to enter the station

Hi great video…. I just need clarification, will I have to pay YVR AddFare of $5.00 on my return trip to YVR?
hi 😃 no, its only when u buy a ticket AT yvr that the xtra charge occurs
Wow... great info.
just wondering, are these campass cards also available to visitors or they are only for permanent residents?
hi friend😀 great question! anyone can get a compass card- tourist, visitor, anyone who can afford $6 plus the cost of rides
What about a video on how to find rents in Vancouver?
great idea! ill make that video one day for sure😃 thanks for watching❣️🙏🏽
If you have a compass card and transfer from one vehicle to another, do you always tap on and tap off very vehicle you get on?
with the skytrain u tap in and out when u enter a station and then when u go back out onto the street.
with busses u tap each time u get on a bus-no need to tap when u get off.
thanks for watching😀😃
❤
6:24 where is this?
im pretty sure its btwn waterfront station and vanc city centre station 😃
That's Lonsdale Market in north van
Can I use my visa directly instead of buying a compass card
yes u can but its a higher charge for each ride. compass card is the most economical 😃

Forgot to mention West Coast Express!
it comes right into waterfront station… but ive never used it😁 do you ride it to get to work?
@@therealJUSTINEPRIESTLEY I rode it once... I live in Victoria though.
I remember when fare tickets were $1.75 back in high school😂
Make a vlog at Riverdale set
What about the student u pass
yes, students can connect their Upass w compass card. go to the upassbc.translink.ca website to figure it out 😃
How much the Orange Senior Campass Card pay ?
depends how far youre going

First error within 30 seconds. You don’t need one of those compass cards, a contactless credit is just fine. 💁🏻♂️
She said the compass card is more economical
its just like the presto cards
idk what a presto card is. 🤷🏼♀️

@@therealJUSTINEPRIESTLEY I’m pretty sure that the presto card is like the compass card but in Toronto!

When you said zone 3 does that include the 66 route from Chiliwack to Lougheed Station????
