Suzuki GSXR 1000. What the heck is that sound??? Part#1

- Whats up everyone? Well I have a multi parts series for you on this Suzuki GSXR 1000. Customer said he broke the chain & then is started making a really bad sound. He asked me to check his clutch out & I did. I found out the the clutch had a Brocks performance clutch mod that was installed entirely incorrect but that was the least of my worries.

Go through the gears by hand but a bent shiftfork my best guess have fun. .
Sounds like it was ridden hard and put away wet. Extended swingarm says it all. Shop is sweet, hook up a dehumidifier and pipe out drain. Appoxy paint cement to keep floor dry and f them bees..
Lol yeah F them bees 🐝 🤣. That's a really good idea about the dehumidifier. I just might do that. Yeah I knew I was opening a can of worms when he said it use to have an extended swing arm.
I wouldn't say black oil is a clear indication that the oil needs changing... I drained my gsxr 1000 of oil must be near completely, tipped it side to side to get anymore oil out... Put amsoil in and within first start it already went near black, done about 100 miles and its pretty much black already and amsoil breaks down a lot less than other oils from tests ive seen on here
Red RTV is the first indication of “someone’s been in here”. Suzuki sealant is black.
Lol isn't that the truth. Suzuki makes 2 different types of sealant. I have a whole box of factory Suzuki bond & it's Gray.
4k to fix a k5 that you can find use for 5/6k ?!?!? Yea ima pass on that repair smh
Oh I do agree. I run into this all the time. But in the end I think it was only $1,400 after it was all said & done.

Do you have the video of the noise? I had a broken chain on my bike, rebuilt the entire motor and it's making a fucking racket pretty much at any RPM. Happened only after the chain broke so i think my shaft is bent :(
No I sure don't. I thought I did but apparently not. Same thing happened to him. His chain broke & then one of the gears blew apart.
@limitlesspowersportsservic3394 yeah all my gears were fine, the shaft spins without issue. I think it has something to do with the basket or one of the back limiter springs
