Thanks for posting this! I never played a Reverend until last year. Z One of course. And now, because of the craftsmanship, affordability and kick-assness of this guitar, I'm buying my first limited edition. Wouldn't have done it without the help you all gave either. Amazing stuff all around.
Appreciated the video. The four band members of CME who covered the Pumpkins’ songs did a phenomenal job! Very impressed! I’m amazed how close to the tone they came & I saw the Pumpkins live last year. (I could have saved a bunch of $$$):)
I put a Railhammer Billy Corgan Signature Humcutter neck humbucker in my Strat and love how open and responsive it is. A beautiful improvement over the stock Fender neck pickup. These new guitars look great. Just when I feel I have all the guitars I need something like this pops up. Best Wishes - John
Most people will never understand that it’s not so much the guitar as it is the hands that are playing it. His signature sound comes from the guitar of course but so much comes from the fact that his uniqueness lies within him. His hands are a conduit of this signature sound.
I thought it was going to be a gimmick knob that didn't do much....but it can change he the tone from fuzz to crunch to hi gain in my rig.....so much fun.
Great interview. It's nice to see photography of the OG Band (D'arcy 's inclusion) present in Billy's tea shop. does anyone know what pickups are on those btw? I was never too fond of Reverend guitars at first. I still really loved Billy's strats with the Dimarzio and especially the Lace Sensor pickups he had installed in them. these Reverends are really starting to grow on me now though.
@1:37 I think what he means is you can get the new 90's tone, but not the same tone of the 90's, so all those people that have the expensive guitars of the old tone, don't go down in price, but up because we get the new old tone, not the original. I think that's what Billy means.
He's talking about needing to sound contemporary but come on now -- Siamese Dream sounds brand new still, for some reason SP's music just hasn't dated, whereas much 'newer' (in the literal sense) music has.
Wow. I’m hearing Billy doesn’t have a great relationship with his signature guitar builder. “You didn’t ask me…” “I thought about having my tech make this a dummy knob..” The cringy etching on the pickup covers… A self-serving colorway… Dang.
hmmm, these sound absolutely nothing like the 94-96 sound. Also, Bill sits there with the guitar in hand but someone else makes a half hearted attempt to play the songs weird.
@@morganghetti not just the albums, the entire era. I am not talking about the stacked layers, I am talking about the tone. The BS Strat is superior in every way.
Billy Corgan can't only not write a song, he can't write an automated thank you letter to his many most genuine thousands of additional guitarist applications; I hope they also all agree on how ultimately self centred he is 😅 don't smash pumpkins, smash your pumpkins albums 🎉😇

I have a BC1 and the Z-one, both are amazing guitars and I would highly recommend!
The quality build, the tone, the variety......it's top notch
Which one do you prefer to get the Siamese dream type tone?
@@kgjohnson0240newer one. Z-one

Absolutely AWESOME guitar
Reverend contender is my favourite. The bass contour is so useful.

@brijul630 I thought that to, it's like an added gain/boost in a way,very cool
Yeah! It eliminates the need for any boost pedal (for me at least)
Its cool that the other guitarplayer here plays a Silverburst LP Custom.
James Iha has one of those too.
Nice Catch!
Omg first time I've ever seen Billy with hair!! Wild!
These pickup covers are an absolute winner... and greeeeeen!!!!! 💚💚💚💚💚💚
that pink one is super rad. I have the BC1 in satin black and that would be a great partner for it
Naylor is a friggin brilliant genius... period. (Great dude too!)
Love mine!
Dude has the drum sound down..plays well
Cool guitar. And remember- don't text and drive, don't drink and drive! Stay safe and sane out there.
Cool guitar, bet it sounds better with a white paint job though..
I got the reference bro
🤣
You won the Internet with this comment!!!😂😂
Awesome guitars! Can we get one that when you stop playing it glitches and makes that high pitched noise in Mayonaise? 😁
wow I had no idea about Billy being religious. He is truly a renaissance man
10:30 was that the Reverend or Beguiled playing over the top of the video cause the tone was identical.
That's the Reverend!
@@chicagomusicexchange Incredible. It sounded like the album.
Billy looks like that crazy Uncle that you only see at Christmas and likes to tell stories of the size of fish he recently caught 😂
Anyone know what song the guy was playing in the pickup demo?
“Drown” from the Singles Soundtrack. It was how many folks first heard The Pumpkins. I think it was mine, just before “Today” came out.
Drown.....my first exposure to them from the Singles movie soundtrack.
Nice bouncy bouncy jams
A much more suitable model for me. Kinda the Reverend Billy F. Corgan Gibbons version.

Just received #17 of 24!!!! (Waited a day to open it cuz it has a cold trip)
What happened to Billy’s hand?
It’s a birthmark.
Wanking injury.

The billy Corgan Strata have gone up the last month...
For some reason, I thought Korina was darker than alder 😅
Madame Zuzu's is not in Chicago.
Missed a trick not giving it a zero fret.

Man why not have Billy play, he’s already there with the guitar in hand. Guy in the demos isn’t even playing the songs right, it’s bad.
If I was as legendary as him I wouldn’t play for free either
@@jbroutson17 its his signature guitar that he's obviously getting paid for the namesake and to market it
Yeah this is horrible
Why didn’t billy play the demos? He’s sitting there with the damn guitar in his hand lol. The guys doing the demo itself.. not convincing
Hes also playing almost every riff slightly wrong.
Like just playing 3 of those 4 harmonics on the Zero main riff.
They'd have to pay him more.
I think that guitar is about $5000 cheaper than anything CME sells
lol we have affordable guitars too!
Actually, all the guitars CME sells are affordable.
Bring back Naylor amps.
Kinda lame we couldn't see billy play
The song is called "Quiet", you labeled it "Quite".
Really CME?
Send me the Shell Pink zOne and I'll forgive you.
(Guitar just came out) "We hear that all the time." 🤣
I think he was referring to the bass contour knob which Reverend has been doing for years.

Sound exactly like Zero, BWBW (but fuller)etc though my rig. Where I'm using an Orange, a Mesa or 20watt practice amp. There's no denying it
Nonsense. They did a great job. And no shit it doesn't sound exactly like the album with 53 amps stacked on the track.
