    I had a 1993 L reg 2.0 litre SI 4dr saloon back in the day, I got it when it was only 6 months old, it was silver, it had the front spats, rear spoiler, adaptive suspension and it had the black velour seats that you showed at the start of your video. It was fitted with 5 spoke diamond cut alloys, but I replaced them with the Escort cosworth style wheels, I also retrofitted factory front fogs, that was one of the best cars I have owned, replaced it in 1999 with a new 4dr RSAP ST24, again in silver..Great cars..

    • @ondabmw3934
      @ondabmw3934 23 дня назад +6

      I was wrong about the wheels that were on it when I got it, it had the RS diamond cut wheels, I had them refurbished, I got sick of replacing the center caps because they kept corroding and the wheels started to bloom, hence the cosworth reps..

    • @malcolmdown9170
      @malcolmdown9170 22 дня назад +1

      I to had a white saloon L reg 2.0 SI with the RS body kit and the 16inch polished seven spoke alloys. And I later swapped them for some original escort cosworth wheels. It was probably one of the worst cars I ever had. Gearbox collapsed, cylinder head burned through to the water jacket. And constantly failed its MOT on control arm bushes. But I loved it. It was stolen and when I got it back I’d fallen out of love with it.

Anyway he did a lot of research on the RSi's, so I have sent him a message to see if he can help you.

    Hello Johnny
    I used to own one of the original Power Engineering Zetec turbo Mk1 Mondeos back in the 1990,s Power Engineering did 7 of them and im sure one was a Hendy RS car .. the conversion cost me £5K back then and i won Ford Fair 98 99 2000 my old Mondy car is featured in the Ford Fair video 1998 M648UJN
    I remember the Hendy cars well and you sure have a very rare gem now. They also came with a different dish of the 5 spoke Escort cosworth style alloys. The mainstream Mondeo Mk1 Si Models were given the 6 and a half J wheels were the Hendy fords got the slightly more countersunk 7J alloys as standard which im if right Ford made the 7J an optional extra for all thr RS Mk1 Si
    All the best with the restoration mate and look forward to following it

    *In Canada, these are called the Ford Contour. I had one with a 2.5 liter V6, 212 HP, and it was identical to your yellow car. Same seats (except they were leather). I put really nice rims (wheels) on the car and tinted the windows. Then, I installed a gorgeous stereos system with powerful speakers. I LOVED that car. I got it up to 240 Km/h. I never got it up to top speed. 240 was the most I was comfortable with. (150 mp/h).*

      @harby74 6 дней назад

      The Contour and Mercury Mystique we’re such different cars that all the trim and external body aren’t interchangeable. The most power these had was with the 205bhp ST200 Mk2 Mondeo and facelift 195bhp Contour SVT and they did just over 140mph on a good day. The normal 2.5 24v V6 was 169bhp

    Your Hendy has the original front bumper that doesn’t dip down under the headlights, these are extremely rare and irreplaceable as all later post May ‘94 cars had the dip with rubber seals fitted in the gap.

    RUclips recommendations are really doing some great job lately. Very interesting video, very interesting car. Subscribed because i can't wait to see more if it.
    Personally, i'd really like to have a Mondeo Mk1 4x4 or the even rarer Mk2 4x4 someday and convert then to the RSi and ST24 specs, respectively.
    My personal car is basicaly a similar build to that. I have the stupidly rare Golf Mk3 Syncro with the 2.0L 8V engine, which has received the GTI bodykit, GTI interior and GTI 2.0L 16V, so it's basicaly an AWD GTI.
    I want many other cars to build in a similar way. 😂

    WOW indeed! Very cool, I remember these very well. I didn't realise they came with trick suspension and a power hike. I know you're not keeping it on steels but it looks kinda cool on them. I imagine modestly banded gloss black with chrome beauty rings and chrome centre caps a-la 70s performance American cars.
    Did they also do a version a little later on in this colour as a 4x4 V6? Or am I mixing memories up?!

    I’m from Portsmouth/Pompey and remember seeing this in the hendy showroom in cosham!!! They also had an imperial blue escos in there as well.
    I moved to hedge end on the outskirts of Southampton a few years later I’m pretty sure the local conservative club owner ended up owning the car……👍🏼

    Parada when new are lethal in rain. I was down to 25 on a motorway in rain in a Swift GTi on Parada’s. Ditch them asap. Or if you are never going to drive it hard and only in the dry just use them.

    I remember looking at a MK1 Mondeo 4x4 Si in citrine yellow back in 2008 for £1000. I thought about it but thought "nah im only 18, that's a dad car". I got a '94 Fiesta Si 16v in mallard green instead for £600, ended up putting a 2.0 into that (like 90% of Si owners did) 😂

      God bless you my son, I think you will find F English Ltd was the the Ford main dealer in Poole Road Branksome, they were also the only RS dealer in town. Hendy lennox, did indeed have two branches locally, one i Christchurch Road near the Lansdowne, the other in Palmeston Road Boscombe. By the way I have always been led to believe, Hendy was one of the very first appointed ford dealers. If that's wrong, someone will no doubt correct me.

    i am a massive geek of all things rare models of standard everyday cars or just super rare special editions or aftermarket performance tuners in the first place, and i had never heard of this, probably because im not from the UK, if we would've got one of these in our country id probably go apeshit seeing it just because of that colour and their specialty, i somewhat doubt any of them made their way to Finland however lol
