Mate, not all your videos need to have exciting cars, I always get enjoyment from the basic repairs and corrections. have always enjoyed Chop to the Top.
Exactly. That recent battered Jag was an excellent series.
true
I agree entirely. More what he does as opposed to the car
I agree, i like seeing the old bangers being transformed like the jaguar. More relatable to most of us watching
Totaly agree 👍
Not boring at all Johnny, thanks for the update! As always, everything you’ve said here makes perfect sense. You’ve got to be one of the hardest working car RUclipsrs out there and I know how difficult it must be to find the right cars for this series, especially when you only have your spare time to work on it. It’s been an incredible achievement so far! Looking forward to your next video whether it’s Chop to the Top or something else entirely.
Thanks very much! I appreciate the support!
Brilliant content. Others I've watched gave up after a few episodes. I'm really glad that you're still going. Love the cosworth
Agree its hard to do I'm still going tho 😂😂😂
Thank you very much! Yes this process seems very attractive from the outside so lots of people attempt it and then quietly sweep it under the rug when they realise how challenging it is to keep it moving in the right direction! I assure you I will not quit though so there’s lots more content to come! Thanks for watching!
I think the thing I respect most about this channel is that you always do things properly. Not churning out rubbish for the sake of it. Keep doing what you do mate, it’s why we’re here.
Thanks very much - I appreciate that!
What I like about your videos is the down to earth honesty. You're not playing an angle, looking for co-labs, product placing or trying to push some random BS sponsor nobody cares about like so many other RUclipsrs. I hope you continue being true to yourself than following the herd.
Thanks Michael. I will continue to try and bring down to earth, engaging and relatable content to you guys!
Loved the jag series, something like that where you show intricate details like the bondo repair is super interesting. And the journey to rectifying it. Don’t always go for the run of the mill flashy mindless entertainment. You have more to give than that as you are a skilled operator
Thanks very much! Hopefully I can reach a wider audience who share your views too! I appreciate the support, cheers 👍
What a nice and down to earth man, Johnny. I enjoyed listening to your thoughts in this video, maybe you can record some similar talks when there is not enough material with the cars. Good Sunday to you !
Thank you very much! I realise I haven’t done that many talking / piece to camera videos so it may be hard for some viewers to get a feel for the sort of person I am so maybe some more videos like this could help! Cheers 👍
The video is not boring at all, i like knowing how much money you made and what you spent on the cars. Started with £150 and now you have just under £29k is amazing! The cossie is gorgeous, the best colour for sure! Would love to see more of the cossie 😁
Thanks! As of next month I will have the Cossie taxed again so if the weather allows - i will try to get some more content with it, and maybe even show it in use (for a change)!
Thanks for the update. Can't wait to see what's next
Keep doing what you're doing Johnny. Great content and original and informative.
Wow johny great update thats crazy that you have got nearly 30k not long till you will be driving your porsche 👍👍👍
Woohoo! Been waiting for an update on this series 😁
Great to see the Escort Cosworth Johnny. Defo worked as a piece of eye candy whilst you talked about the figures 😉 thanks for explaining where you're at with the chop to the top series. It was that series that led me here & I've been subscribed since. Plus I back tracked & watched how your channel started & has grown since. All the best & look forward to the next vlog 👍🏻
Thanks very much! Lots more to come so stay tuned!
Couldn’t agree more with the other guys. I like your honesty and transparency in your videos, everything you put out has something interesting or useful in it. Keep it up fella.
Thanks very much - I appreciate the support!
I have watched Chop To The Top since episode one, so it's good to get a catch up, you have done incredibly well to get from £150 to almost £29000, and it's well deserved because you have put in an awful lot of hard work. I am now wondering how much further you will go, before you reach the point where you consider you have enough "in the pot" to pull the trigger and buy your super car. For me personally please carry on buying cars and adding to your total, because every video is well worth watching, and of course the more you make, the better car you end up with, simples. looking forward to the next episode, best of luck.
I’m a Big fan and have been for a while. I never stop watching whilst you’re producing.
Thank you!
Very happy to wait. We're getting these videos for free!
Great up date mate. Figured your waiting for that gem in rough:) but i do want a price for job doing👀
Really enjoy your videos and all the great content. The Fourtrak series is my favourite though👍
Thank you! More of the Fourtrak soon!
Sir we’re with you all the way and completely understand the process that you have to go through. Thank you kindly for the message and I’m excited to see another one. Fingers crossed 🤞🏻
Thanks, lots more to come!
Appreciate the update
I love your content mate. I love how you transform cars. Super cool.
Does need to be the most entertaining cars. I just like how you buy low add value and profit from it.
Also the value of a thorough clean is so nice to see on old cars.
Agree
Thank you! Aside from the profit it’s always nice to breathe fresh life into older / lower value cars and send them onto an owner that’ll appreciate them!
Good catch up on the cars, but I found it hard to constraint on what you war saying, as I was busy drooling over the eye candy behind you. LOL 😍😍😍😍😍
That’s the risk of saying or doing anything in front of a car like the Cossie I guess…she just steals the show!
Rs4 cab would be a good project to do up and sell. You've got to think of demographic of audience. Eg I'm 30s still so we lust after those 2000s cars
The RS4 is an itch I’m yet to scratch but you make a very sound point!
Your drive to work your way up to a supercar is pretty inspiring considering you already have that beauty sat in there. Best colour for an Escort Cosworth n'all. Love the channel. 👌
Thank you! Yes it probably seems mad grafting to buy a supercar when I already have my personal dream car, but I like a challenge!
Love the chop to top series, but also enjoy your other content just as much. Gives me hope I could do a car restoration. I'd be happ to see more mid range cars to add to the kitty. Keep up the good work
Thank you! I’m glad you’re enjoying the content!
Loving the 'Johnny Dance' as you talk to the camera 😂
Stunning Cossie 👌🏻
😂😂😂
I think it’s because I think faster than I can talk so I have to burn that off as movement as I go!
@@JohnnyGetsCash you got moves son 😂😂😂
Thanks for the update Johnny, and the breakdown of costs and expenditure. Do you have a final goal in mind for costs for you to buy your supercar? As a long time subscriber, just asking out of interest really.
Thanks Ken. I have a few potential target cars in mind but I’m keeping these up my sleeve for now…hopefully it won’t be long until I can reveal more!
Johnny it's fine, it's good to mix stuff up.
Thanks for the update, I like the series, but also like the "filler" videos that you make in between it.
I guess it also gets harder and harder to find a cheap slightly neglected car as the budget gets higher and higher..
Cheers from Denmark!
You’re absolutely right there! You know what they say…”More money, More problems” right?! 😂 Thanks for watching!
I respect the hustle and needing to make the series work with your spare time. I have two general ideas that you could consider; 1. If you find a cheap boring banger/a few of them that are minimally work intensive and you think it would generate a good profit + you actually want to buy and sell it as part of the series, you could bunch a few of them together to make a bigger compilation video. 2. If you are making any Adsense/advertising money on the series and you don’t feel strongly about keeping that as income, as the payment for you for this series is the supercar, I think it’s completely fair to add that to the kitty. The camerawork, editing etc are all equally part of work you contribute to the series as buying, do-ing up and selling the car. Two general benefits I could see is that you could potentially have more money faster, to make a bigger car purchase to flip (although I recognise a lot of the series won’t be about maxing out the budget on one car) and the second would be that you would hopefully get to supercar money faster. Keep up the great content, wish I had the energy/effort/resources to do this sort of stuff in my free time but it’s nearly just as entertaining to watch you do it and do it well.
You should try u have nothing to loose
Thanks very much! Still lots more to come so stay tuned!
Good to see your progress with the chop to the top of car buying/restoration. Nice cosworth, is it Imperial Blue?
What are you planning to buy as your super car?
Thanks! Yes my Cossie is Imperial Blue. In my opinion the best colour for one of these beauties! I have a few ideas for the end goal supercar but as yet I’m keeping these under my hat!
Yes it's a great colour, I have a TVR in Imperial Blue and discovered it was originally a Ford colour. Make the most of it, as you know cars are better being driven than kept in a garage. Look forward to seeing what you end up getting!
Love the car Johnny . use to have a Sierra Cosworth come into the garage old women drove it round town at 30mph 🤦♀️ so every Friday the mechanic had to thrash it 😂😂😂. Live what ever content you want to put up...nice catch up thanks
That’s mad! I wonder what became of that car?!
I have no idea Johnny it might be in a heap but It might be around the Peterborough area 🤷♀️. Made.me think now I might have to investigate lol
Woohoo more content on the cosworth
Great Video totally transparent. Cossie looking good. How About a Subaru Impreza, Prodrive made a fortune restoring some. 👍
If a suitable classic Impreza came across my path I’d be very interested! As many viewers will know I’m a sucker for a Scooby 😍
Hey Johnny, i was just wondering if u would answer me about a question. I wonder what size your tires were on the video "10 things i love about my toyota hilux" back in like 3 years ago.
Hi, yeh sure - my Hilux has 33” tyres on 15” offset modular steels 👍
he's right its really difficult to find a car to buy repair and sell with a healthy profit there's so much stuff that's a mechanical write off even though it runs and drives, my own car is a mechanical write off if you include labour, just spent 1100 on parts.
No way what was it
Sorry to hear about your car! Hopefully you can get out of that without too much hassle…
Whoever you sold the Mondeo and the Rangie to bagged bargains. PS whatever your content, always well made, informative and engaging.
Thank you!
Like all your videos mate. Is flipping and repairing cars your main job?
Thank you! I do a little bit of everything in the trade but overall yes, I’d summarise by saying that I’m a car trader 👍
Love the series Johnny, Lambo at the end of the series😂
Watch this space!
that is a serious chop to the top,,, who is your barber. great video
😂 I’ll pass that on next time I’m in for a trim!
Johnny the only thing that could have made that more palatable was throwing Jakes red toy 57 times in 10 minutes !
As with all RUclipsrs… as your channel grows perhaps this channel will become full time through natural progression… look at Mat Armstrong. So it’s likely we’ll get more content as demand grows.
I’m sure I speak for others when I say: We appreciate the sporadic content release and enjoy watching this channel grow.
Other channels do ‘vlog style updates’ so this is just as interesting. 👍🙏
I always make sure i release at least one video per week but i have considered the 'VLOG' style updates to keep you guys in the loop a bit more and give extra content so maybe this is something i should do if there's an appetite for it!
@@JohnnyGetsCash I’d say this one was a VLOG style. And I think based on early views, this works :) giving pdates etc. are needed when you have all the projects on 👍👌
The market has also changed since you started this series. Buying and selling in a falling market isn’t so easy. I like the cheapies to be honest.
You’re not wrong! The market constantly shifts and post-covid things have been a bit unpredictable…but I guess that’s where the skill of a trader comes in! Stay tuned!
Be good to see a performance car maybe even 2 performance cars and keep them a little bit more interesting going forward, just to switch up the content for the cheaper cars. But whatever’s better for you bro 😎 I will watch the content regardless ❤
Performance cars do bring their own set of challenges but I’m not one to say an outright no to anything so you may well be pleasantly surprised before too long!
Just put a video of that cossie sat there!! Id happily watch that 😍😍
I know what you mean - i can sit and just look at it sometimes. The best of the best!
@@JohnnyGetsCash 💯 your other videos are not too shabby neither! Keep up the top content!!
gorgeous car
chop, too the top
Hi, out of interest, at what point do you have to pay income tax after selling 12 vehicles? And won't that affect the kitty?
Basically even though chop to the top is a sideline hobby of mine, I declare all vehicles / profits made in my yearly accounts and I’m taxed accordingly. Arguably this could be included as part of the pot calculation but for the sake of ease to follow for the viewer, this isn’t something I delve into - but bottom line is that all taxes are paid in full!
@@JohnnyGetsCash 😂 don't fret, I don't work for HMRC. I was just curious purely as a lay person who may aspire to follow your steps. I don't know how many vehicles can be bought and sold as a hobby before tax comes into it, 6 or 7? Still viable to do but I'd imagine it would take longer to achieve.
Loved the vid on the scooby by the way. Always browsing them on auto trader but finding an unmodified one at a good price is hard.
You might know my aunt. She has a pretty cool cotsworth and is very much in that scene
I guess as the pot builds up in value the risk of what you buy increases. Better to buy lower value cars that can that bring in a modest profit than blow the whole lot on something that can potentially break the bank
This is a very valid point. I’m definitely not adverse to a big gamble but your point is 100% correct. As with everything do. I will weigh up the risk vs reward before jumping as every element of this process has to work efficiently!
I want to help you, I've got a car you can buy with that 28k lol. Glad it's still going, I'm looking forward to seeing what you finally buy (please don't buy a Porsche).
😂😂😂think that's what he wants
A few people have mentioned Porsche so far but currently this isn’t on my radar. Certainly not as a final supercar anyway!
👍
Does the tax man take any of your earnings
Yes I declare everything and get taxed accordingly each year
Stand still!!!!
Oh.... And just fyii....a 911 isn't a super car.
What colour is your 911?
Who said anything about a 911? 😉
