When this show came out the Sci Fi channel website had Crichton's Logs in which Crichton spoke about what occurred often giving out info. One log had pilot reveal that the I, ET planet must have been visited before because translator microbes were in the soil, hence why the natives were able to understand the Moya crew.

John did such a great job portraying a guy who trains guard dogs. They respond to discipline and sense any weakness. You need to be their pack leader, not their friend.

Zhaan is more akin to a plant than an animal, she was basically experiencing supercharged photosynthesis. you may notice her makeup change in subtle ways over time, this is intentional, meant to reflect different levels and types of solar energy that she has been feeding on as a space traveler.

Re: Crichton's Module & it taking off - He's been modifying it with alien tech* so it can do more than it would normally be able to & that includes take-off & landing on planets. As for Aeryn being blinded, while she was inside she was close enough to a window/the door to get hit with the flare light.
*which you can see on the outside of the Module near the back & with the consoles on the inside at the start

It's too bad we won't be getting anymore. I'm surprised it doesn't do as well as B5. Most people who are fans of either show, are fans of both. If anything, I would have imagined that Farscape would be more popular than B5, since I thought it had a wider audience. Don't give up on it in your spare time though, it gets much better soon. B5, Farscape and The Expanse are the best non-Star Trek scifi shows out there. BSG and Stargate are up there as well.
Luckily funnylilgal reacts has been doing these as well, and is around the same point you are, so at least I'll be able to continue there. And can't wait to watch S4 of B5 here.

the problem was at the time it was super expensive per episode due to the cgi, makeup, sets, puppets. it was always on the brink of being canceled except for sometimes an angel investment.
mind you there are series with horrible ratings whose episode cost is ten times the cost of Farscape per episode that get another season for the message of dei.

Farscape budget was $1.4 million per episode.
Babylon 5 was 800k per episode.

It's not all a dream. And Zan has a reason to like the sun, it's no big deal but I still can't tell you.
The show is about John getting home so in some form he will walk on Earth, at some point.

I will miss your reactions on RUclips. Perhaps from time to time you can make a video with your comments after watching a great episode or the season or something - something you won't have to edit. This episode becomes important for the overarching story line.

Ironically NASA designed a mini shuttle version similar to Crichton's module but unmanned. Lockheed Martin did some work on the prototype the X-33 Venturestar starting in the 90's. So it wasn't just something made up. 😮
There are reasons why Zhaan acts to ionic radiation the way she does. More will be revealed. 😂

    • @toomanyaccounts
      @toomanyaccounts 12 дней назад

Venturestar was the proposed full sized version of the x-33. Venturestar was never built due to problems with the X-33. It wasn't a mini shuttle either. Venturestar had a wingspan of 68 feet, a length of 127 feet , and would have weighed roughly 1000 t upon launch. Space Shuttle had a wingspan of 78 feet, 121 feet long and weighed 120 tons.

Then there is the Boeing X-37b Orbital Test Vehicle. Also unmanned. I believe that one actually launched in April of 2010.

So it looks like NASA worked on several reusable shuttle designs. Just not as ambitious as the original.

    • @toomanyaccounts

@@roystoyscomics1361 there were tons of studied variants NASA had of the shuttle. one was a passenger that could carry up to 78 passengers. The original plans for the space shuttle was completely reusable. Turns out reusable rockets tend to have a lot of refitting otherwise it will blow up the next trip. Instead of a week as predicted it took months and over a 100,000 parts to be replaced. Its why one time rockets are way cheaper.

@@toomanyaccounts I guess SpaceX killed all of that development once they had a civilian craft that wasn't made at taxpayers expense.

Just a thought, but you aren't including the words React or Reaction in the titles for the Farscape episodes, you might have done better as people often search for a show title and react/reaction for this content. Shame to see you remove this from RUclips, I know another channel that did this for BSG reactions halfway through. I said then I completely understand exclusive content but starting and then making it private halfway through really sucks. Ah well, still wishing you the best.
