  • In this video we needed to transport some building materials to a remote cabin construction site. Unfortuantly we waited until after breakup, and the trail became almost unpassable. Thanks to our Argo, we were able to trailer the supplies in.

I don't even take the tracks off mine. The second set of (6) tires I built a 3 axle trailer which also pulls a LOT easier in mud and muskeg. Almost never been stuck and likely had 1500 lbs on the trailer a number of times bringing materials into remote hunt shack build. Lotta fun!

@MattSnader just got a set of rubber tracks for my 8 wheel Argo...$4300.00 cdn ... crazy amount of money tbh, but wouldn't go without them.
The other thing the rubber tracks are c REALLY good for is protecting the fairy soft tires from sharp sticks and rocks etc.
We found In clearing quite a bit of trail scrub there's generally a lot spikey stiff sticking up that's pretty brutal on the tires.

Not sure who taught them how to corduroy a road, but you sink the logs down in a little bit so they don't kick up when you drive over them.

For the money I would try to find a Coot, they were what the Argos wished they could be. They were made with Tecumseh motors and had a two piece body that was hinged in the middle and they could float too. Saw them go over stuff like this when my Grandfather had his, they were awesome and a lot cheaper than the Argos.

@@ConsiderFirstCnE I know what an Argo is, and what it's intended use is. I'm neither a "pansy" or a "nerd", but thanks for immediately turning to ame calling when someone voiced an opinion that is different from yours. I'm surprised that you didn't try to guess my politi al leaning from my comment! Read my second comment above: It says "to each their own." If someone wants to spend that kind of money for a machine with no suspension or ground clearance, good for them as I'm sure that they will be happy with it and it will be the machine that meets their needs. I simply choose not to spend MY money that way. I had a friend who had an Argo, and it was a total piece of crap that had to be worked on after every use. And yes - he is a skilled mechanic who did a very good job of maintaining it. The breakdowns were mainly due to poorly designed and / or weak components.
