@@Ripsky I'm older , so speed is not my thing it'll Run from 25 to 30 which is plenty fast , I've never been close to getting it stick , it's used mainly for deer hunting, and it doesn't rut up my fields
Good stuff. Picked up a 700 last fall, great for plowing snow. Whole lot more fun than using a shovel or snow thrower. Still waiting to do a good trail ride. Have you considered making a video on the alternator install? The factory 20 amp rating seems kinda low. Been wondering how difficult adding an alternator would be. Would open up more options for things like auxiliary lighting, or an electric cooler\fridge for extended camping, etc. Also refill the battery quicker after winching.
That is awesome! i was going to build a snow plow for the argo and never got around to it. maybe i will before winter hits. i never thought about upgrading the alternator? sounds like a good idea definitely could use more battery for the winch.
I just bought a 2003 Vangaurd with tracks. I love it , I have a bunch of ATV'S. but after I saw a guy on the trails with one I had to get my own. There not the fastest but what they lack in speed they make up for like not having to get pulled out of a big mud pit. I only had mine in the water once but it was great. I wish they had a bigger motor 16hp does not seem strong enough for them. I'm looking on putting something bigger in mine not to increase the speed but for more power going up hills and in the mud.
my neighbor just bought one of these and when he took me out on the pond i almost had a heart attack but after a while it was really cool. i might have to buy one now. i want one with a snow plow tho
@@Ripsky they will work. I have used them on mine, 97 Bigfoot, sidewall puncture and still holding perfectly. Just make sure you use the vulcanising glue, not the contact cement.
I definitely wanna get one of these years ago I had a 6 wheel territory girl and that was a lot of fun I don't think Alice Chalmer makes the territory to run anymore but I think I'm gonna try one of these
Did you get the factory alternator kit or build your own? Mine has been discontinued. I have a 1999 conquest 8x8. If you did build your own kit could you please supply some pictures so I can get a rough idea. I know they are different motors but any input would be appreciated. For your tire issue I highly recommend using tireject. You can find videos on RUclips about it if you are not familiar with it. I put it in all 8 tires just to be safe.
Word of caution ⚠️ my uncle owned one and he kept it in his garage and something went wrong with the battery and wiring harness and it almost burned down his house while he was asleep
A couple of times you mentioned you've gotten stuck in the mud? Man, you just plowed thru that tall brush like nothing and then took her swimmin' ... can't imagine what you went thru to get stuck?
But with no suspension (none, nada, zero) any trail riding becomes quite uncomfortable. Driver sits in middle of front seat so all passengers must ride in back seat. Differences in wheel spread compared to ATVs does create issues on soft trails. Plowing over and through brush needs certain types of brush to allow it to happen.
I just bought a 2021, it's the 3rd 1 I've had since the 80's , absolutely love it, I will never be without 1
wow i bet that thing runs smooth!

@@cooperb8068 yeah 30 is plenty fast for an argo.
I would never buy a new one. I would take the old one & put a 2-stroke 1000 from a snowmobile or something. Then u will have a big boys toy

They have small engines that are torque sp you dont get stuck but I love mine but I feel like I sit up so high in mine
They appear to now use the Briggs & Stratton Vanguard series, can get those over 20hp
That water was looking pretty awesome
If I had a pond that clear, no damn Argo would be in it.
my neighbor just bought one of these and when he took me out on the pond i almost had a heart attack but after a while it was really cool. i might have to buy one now. i want one with a snow plow tho
yeah it is definitely something you have to get used to. a plow would be awesome!
Having land is such a good thing
If you are having problems with tubes, use the patch/plug. Inserts from the inside out. Last the life of the tire.
Thanks for the tip! the tires are pretty dry rotted tho so i am not sure if that would work?

That’s a beautiful place do you own it?

Great demonstration. What year is it (sorry if I missed it)? I’ve been on the fence about whether or not to get an Argo Bigfoot or Max iv.
1999
man you need a bilge pump I thought they had one from the factory?
Are these things pretty reliable? And are they usually pretty cheap to fix if something does go wrong?
it seems to be pretty reliable so far. OEM Parts are quite expensive. you can find some aftermarket parts out there tho.
very robust machines.
Which lake did you take it for a swim in?
That's a pond.
Off-roading in flip flops... Way too cool!
I know this is an old video, but do you have footage of how you put that alternator on?
Amazing thanks for sharing
Does it float in deep water or is he in shallow water
it floats like a boat. it can go in deep water.
I need an Argo so bad they look so fun
yeah they are pretty awesome!
Really cool ATV's but they could sure use a few inches of suspension travel on the tires, low pressure tires don't always cut it.
true!
Question: ?? What is the top speed of that machine?

That is sad. You have a 1999 year model and they quit making parts for it? What kind of company is Argo?
what year model is this thing?
Does it get stuck easy?
I always wanted one of those but I got married instead. Then the fun ended.
Word of caution ⚠️ my uncle owned one and he kept it in his garage and something went wrong with the battery and wiring harness and it almost burned down his house while he was asleep
geez! Thanks for the heads up i will have to look into that.
@@Ripsky i wouldn't let that stop you from getting one but id definitely house the machine in a building not attached to the house 👍
Are these things hard on fuel compared to an atv/quad
i am not to sure. i think its about 1 gallon per hour
can u drive it in 3-5 meter deep water???
it is like a boat. it floats.
i bought one of these and i love it 1999 bigfoot 6x6 its the best
yes!
Cool video nice
Thanks!
Will they hold up in saltwater
A couple of times you mentioned you've gotten stuck in the mud? Man, you just plowed thru that tall brush like nothing and then took her swimmin' ... can't imagine what you went thru to get stuck?
How dies it do with tracks in the water?
i have not tested that.
Can’t go in deeper then 28 inch of water eith tracks and they barely move I work on these things
How do people afford these they are so expensive!?
Right! I want one so bad but I drive a $3k car. So, yea.
I had one. Sure do miss it
this is like the ultimate Florida vechicle
lmao fr
what is its price
about 2 to 8 grand
@Ripsky >>> Great video. Subbed...👍
How much wheels is it
what?
At least 25 wheelpowers, but only when you give the horse 🐴 her the onions 🧅. Usually the horse is a little sleepy though
Jk, I believe it has 8wd with optional tank tracks. Pretty cool machine, always wanted one
I got sick of the tires on my Conquest being flat all the time so I tubed them all....no problems since.
Me to
hahahaha
If I ever get money and land, there will be like two or three of these on my property. No sure why but it reminds me a lot of the world war 1 jeeps

I believe I will get a 8 wheeler next time. Just for the comfort. Ride a little nicer
Good video
put a 2-stroke & some salamander tires on it
nice
What up red beard people!
TY.

Did anyone else see that bird zoom past?
Sort of reminds me of a food carosele-for a bear.
Boring
