"Hey Mike, what are you up to?" "Nothing much bob, just founded this thing called jet" (10 minutes later) "Ugh... My head... What the-OH MY GOD I KILLED MIKE!" Great idea huh?
for some reason seeing the man at 2:00 gives me chills. You would think that someone in a badass suit of power armor would be pumped but his face is pure dread and horror. Best intro for a game ever
The thousand yard stare. When you've killed too many of the enemy, watched too many friends die beside you, this is what you become. Only a few seconds of a scene, but a great job by the actor.
Look at the back right at 2:00 that guy is holding the original mini-gun, they changed it in fallout 4 to the kind where it looks like Heavy's mini-gun from TF2
I honestly think a Fallout game before the Great War would be good, maybe call it, Before The Fallout: Anchorage or just call it Anchorage, an emotional first person game with some elements of Fallout and instead of having a skewed patriotic version seen in Fallout 3 or New Vagas in the side mission, it's a brutal, gut and heart wrenching tale of what happened, to really shock people, take my money
Beatfull1 buddy fix that spelling mistake for the love of god :D its "sole" survivor. They hired really good actors for this perfect masterpiece of an intro. that soldier in power armor is probably just representing a BOS soldier. Some people think he looks like paladin danse but he doesnt look like Danse at all.
Beatfull1 really dude ? i was trying to be nice. Have you seen how others reply to people who make grammar mistakes ? i tried to be nice about it and help you if you didnt know the right spelling of that word
Through action, a man becomes a hero. Through death, a hero becomes a legend. Through time, a legend becomes a myth. And by learning from the myth, a man takes action. -Eichiro Oda
war...war never changes. in the year 2005, my father serving on the internet, wondered when he would be able to upload his family videos. he got his wish when RUclips was created. the internet awaited an influx of terrible videos. instead, something miraculous happened. we began to use RUclips not as a waste of space, but as a nearly limitless source of content. people enjoyed videos once thought possible only in the realm of imagination. web shows, home made music videos. tech reviews. but then, in the 2010's, people awoke from the RUclips dream. years of uploading, lead to shortage of any originality. the entire website unraveled. peace, became a distant memory. it is now the year 2016, and RUclips stands on the brink of total war. and I am afraid. for my channel, for my wife's. for my infant son's. because if my time on the internet taught me one thing, it's that war...war never changes
Styx Monster Shows they are capable of writing and making some excellent, emotional and thought provoking content. They seem to have fallen at a few hurdles though jumped them with the best intentions. But scenes like that truly show why they can be a brilliant company.
+Mad Max Rockatansky The universe is vast, but if you take away the side quests and looting, the main story is actually quite short. I feel they could make a good movie just based on a character's main quest. But then again, the story in the game is already so good, it's like a movie in itself.
+Brett Williams Predictable or not, what's important is how it's pulled off. I think Bethesda's ability to create a moving and visually pleasing story is amazing, even if I predicted the ending.
If id want to completely forget a Game it would be this one. So i can feel it first time. Remember running from the Ghouls, deathclaws and supermutants
remember that in fallout 3. Even though i had some formidable weapons. I would always run out of fear when encountering super mutants. Especially the ones near the Capitol Building. They really gave me a hard time. I miss that game. Unfortunately my father uninstalled it from our home pc. Plus after like 60 + hours of gameplay it started giving me nausea. the graphics of course
The response to this video has been overwhelming! Thanks so much for the incredible support! I'm considering doing an extended arrangement of this, seeing as people seem to be liking it. Would you guys like that? Give this comment a thumbs up if you do!
this song inspired me to write a book about war. with luck, It should be published by, 2029 or 2035, long time I know but most of that will be me trying to polish it up and then trying to find someone that will publish it
Chapter 1. War burnt into the eyes “The world spins around me as my eyesight blurs, the ringing in my ears is unbearable, my skin is sloughing off an-” “Sorry, but could you go back farther?” Her words aren’t rude, she is undoubtedly trusting that I am not a killer. I smile and speak carefully and quietly. “Of course” “The year was 2011, I had been drafted into the U.S army. I had to leave behind my wife, my son and my fatally ill father. I thought the war was just a simple war that would last 3 or so years, how wrong I was, I thought it wouldn’t be a bloody massacre…how wrong I was, I was a fool to believe that war was different. I thought that taking the first strategic point would be as easy as cutting through butter with a hot knife, but when my squad arrived, we were greeted by the largest Canadian force we ever saw, hundreds if not thousands, of Canadian soldiers, all had their guns trained on us… we had no choice but to surrender. So we did, we threw down our rifles, and our pistols, and threw our hands in the air, I heard a voice yell from somewhere in the army. ‘NO PRISONERS!’ then another person screamed the same thing, then before we knew it there was a screaming match between ⅓ of the army saying ‘no prisoners, put em on the stake!’ and ⅓ arguing that ‘killing them is not the Canadian thing to do’ and the final third was off to the sides politely asking us to come with them, I had been trained to obey, so that’s just what I did, I followed orders, So I walked with them, we must’ve walked a few hundred metres when suddenly I heard a small “Blip”. Everyone froze and turned to me, I looked down and saw a small metal disk, with an orange, LED flashing. The one that seemed in charge ordered me to hold still and that it was a ‘Mk3 bone ripper’ said that they were all faulty and it should stop flashing within 5 or 10 minutes, so I waited, we all did… waited 5 minutes then 10 minutes… then 20 minutes, people were getting impatient and worried. Then it started to make small “Ka-chunk” noises, I and everyone there knew what was about to happen, but just as everyone scattered, Specialist Bradly shoved me and threw himself on the damn thing. H-h-He, I’m sorry it’s just, he was the best outa all of us, he was only 15, he was still a fucking kid, always had a smile on his stupid face.” Tears begin to fall from my charred face and scared cheek “It’s okay if you need ti-” I cut her off “NO!” I startle even myself with how loud it was. “I’m sorry. I will continue, *Sigh* leg was blasted apart, the fucking bones shot through the air like daggers, killed two Canadians and injured 5 more including the medic in my squad. But that’s not what was so horrifying, it, it was his fucking face and chest. His dog tags drove their way into his heart, his face was melted off, and his chest was completely open, I’m talking no flesh not even muscle, only bones and charred organs, he looked like an overcooked turkey. I couldn’t even recognize him, we had to leave him there, we couldn’t even take the tags. We kept walking, but I never forgot that. It was my first taste of what war really was like, later on, we reached a huge building, it looked brand new, my first instinct was to go inside, but I noticed that it looked a bit… off, it was way too clean, looked like it was built in haste, sure enough, the CO spoke ‘Woah, now, not that door, the place we need is a couple of hundred meters from here’ he guided us to a small shack, it looked like it was falling apart, but when he opened the door, on the floor I saw a small crack in the ground. He instructed me to stand in the middle and that’s what I did. I took a step inside and the door clicked shut behind me, next thing I knew I was in free fall, falling and falling on end, I can’t remember what happened next, come back later” She has a layer of steam built up on the inside of her helmet. She remains seated, she seems lost in thought. “Could you explain what happened to the rest of your squad?” My squad… I had locked that memory in the darkest sector of my mind, long-held down by other memories. I speak slowly, trying to stop myself from crying as the memory rushes back “In… Time… Patience…” She sits waiting, all I can hear is their screams, them calling out to me “I’m ready when you are” “Than I shall begin” Chapter 2. I forgot to remember to forget. “I fell for what felt like hours, then I suddenly stopped falling, and when I did, I found myself in a room, all around me were walls decorated with US memorabilia, I look around and when I look back to the hole I fell from I saw the Commanding Officer of the Canadian force. ‘Are you ready to be put back to work?’ my response was swift ‘yes, sir’ he smiled, it was a happy smile. He asked me to say ‘Canada, strong and free’ so I did, when I did I heard I loud “Chink” then a door opened, and the CO introduced himself “My name is Gabrial Winson, you can call me Gabe” I introduced myself “Nova Barstowe” I held my hand out, and to my surprise, I got no handshake, I got a hug. “Nice to meet you, welcome to Canada” he released his arms from around me and began to walk out the door, I followed after him, we walked down a corridor that looked like it was never-ending but it did end, and that was when I saw them, my squad. Pfc Tomas Richards, Pvt Sarah West, Medical Officer Debora Yang, lieutenant Sophia Delang. all of them were strapped down to gurneys, Gabe asked if I was worried about my squad, I knew how I felt, they were like family, again we were like family, but now we all changed, none of us were the same joyous fools running to serve their country, we were ripped apart by our first real battle, and what remained of who we were, it was demolished when Bradly died, so I said what I felt “I don’t know who they are anymore, I don’t know who I am anymore.” A nearby door opened and Gabe motioned for me to go inside, and as I stepped through the door, I was placed in restraints and held against the wall, forced to stare ar Pvt West, I was forced to watch as they drilled through her back, her screaming was terrifying, it was so full of terror and pain, they didn’t even kill her with the drill, they let her bleed out, next they faced me towards Medical officer Yang, she was crying, bawling even, they didn’t care, they just wanted to torture me, they made me watch as they scooped her eyes out, she kept crying and she wouldn’t stop yelling for me to help her, I couldn’t do anything, I was useless. They kept killing, next they went to Pfc Richards, they crushed his finger bones with hammers, but he never screamed he only stared at me… his dead glare was enough for me to just end it all there and then, but I couldn’t even look away, he never spoke, just kept staring at me. They just couldn’t kill him, they had to shoot him 5 times with a .50 calibre at point-blank range, then they moved to Lieutenant Delang, she only stared at me and frowned before giving me a thumbs up, at this something in me snapped, and I took a chunk out of the guard’s hand, he recoiled and swore, then I charged at the glass, the impact knocked me to the ground, glass shards slide their way under my skin, blood oozes from my head, but I stand back up and charge at the Guard with his rifle trained on her head, I slam into him and glass flies out of my head, it impales his right eye, but he doesn’t scream, doesn’t even move, I turn to see Gabe with a gun trained on the guards skull, he orders me to move, he has a gun, but I decide to take in all my options, I could grab the rifle and shoot him, but that would be unfair, so I move.” I take a deep breath, “What’s wrong?” the lady stares expectantly, hanging to my every word. “The fact that I didn’t die” Her eyes widen, she didn’t expect such an answer I assume “I assure you, ma’am, I am not suicidal” the words are cold and emotionless I hear a gunshot, followed by 7 more. I’ve heard that sound far too often, an M1911, standard-issue among American soldiers, but it’s a long-forgotten sound for most, but that sound reverberates inside my skull, bouncing like flubber. Someone taps my shoulder. “You still in there?” she says this jokingly, I can’t stop myself from smiling “Okay, I will continue my story as soon a-” I stop mid-sentence, I hear the familiar sound of a grenade, it sounds different than any I’ve ever heard, I stand and search for the pipe I’ve kept hidden. I find it under the couch, taped to the bottom of the couch, I grab it and pull, the tape lets go and I pull the pipe out from under the couch, I walk towards the door. I hold the pipe as if it were a baseball bat. Whatever comes through the door is going to die, but to my surprise, the door is left untouched, all except for a small envelope that slides under the door, I hesitantly pull it closer to me with my pipe, I motion to the lady to grab the note, she carefully crawls over to me, picks the letter up and damn near gets blasted in the face by a grenade that rolled under the door, I recognize the type M67, too big a blast radius for this room, I stomp on the damn thing, the resulting explosion would’ve blasted my entire lower torso off, but my hardened skin receives only minor cuts and bruising, I hear chatter on the other side of the door, but can’t make out anything. I hear a small hissing, the same sound I hear when someone leaves the room, someone is trying to kill me, or her.
Chapter 3 Gas, Grenades and Grand twists I move fast, if I don’t she will die
if anyone takes the time to read this, please leave your thoughts, I need some help with grammatical mistakes and punctuation, also please feel free to give a suggestion about something, keep in mind though, it is a story about war, there was a divergence similar to fallouts, but the divergence more so brought on things similar to the events soylent green.
+Solaire Of Astora Yeah, you're right. What I meant was that it's strange they chose to associate that piece of imagery with that part of the speech, is all.
Man I miss playing this game. Got totally hooked. Was forced to pack it up and grow up or face divorce so here I am watching videos of the game. Got my hit and happy, don't tell the wife
I waited years for Fallout 4. Always on the edge of my seat. The intro started playing, the chills up and down my spine were immeasurable. My whole body shook when I heard the familiar tune and the ever striking line 'War. War never changes'
War...war never changes Yes the way wars are fought has changed Yes the Soldiers fighting have changed Yes the technology has changed Yes the reasons to fight have changed But War: the killing on a massive scale that leaves nothing but pain and suffering on an even larger scale... Well that never changes...
Kudos man, I just started playing Fallout 4 and desperately was looking for this song after seeing the opening. Those chords towards the middle just gets me so emotional
ONE OF THE MOST EPIC VIDEOS EVER !!! I´m glad that there are still people who keep F4 alive with art like this... This is one of my top games of all time and I want to thank you for this great video! :]
Would've been epic to see a dlc of the war between China and the USA. Like something like this. So you go to the memory den and go back to when you served in the war. You do some missions and shit that would be so awesome to experience the pre war weapons and culture.
In the fallout Universe, the US army never managed to stablish themselves in china, that is why we can not see the military service of the sole survivor, because the story was already told in the operation anchorage dlc of fallout 3
This soundtrack says a lot. Everytime I hear it and see the power armor soldier's face, I'm reminded of that famous quote: "We must end war, or war will end us"
+SirPetterTheFirst can you give examples? Cause I just finished the main quest line (did brotherhood first) and it felt like a copy and paste of fallout 3s story.
Luis Alvarez Yeah, i'm gonna start a new game and go for a minute men or institute ending. however the first half of the main quest it literally the first half of fallou 3.
that1dude0092 hey, Your not looking for your father, You are looking for your son. one of my problem with the story is that the ending does not seem fit to what you do and You are fucking 200 years old and no one fucking ask you anything about it. its allways WHERE IS SHAUNE, HAVE YOU SEEN MY BABY. I mean just by how different the vault looks when you come out, You know he is not a baby any more but you are only giving option to say Im looking for a baby, Wich is not fucking helpfull
My life fades. The vision dims. All that remains are memories. I remember a time of chaos, ruined dreams, this wasted land. But most of all, I remember the road warrior, the man we called Max. To understand who he was we have to go back to the other time, when the world was powered by the black fuel and the desert sprouted great cities of pipe and steel - gone now, swept away. For reasons long forgotten two mighty warrior tribes went to war and touched off a blaze which engulfed them all. Without fuel they were nothing. They'd built a house of straw. The thundering machines sputtered and stopped. Their leaders talked and talked and talked, but nothing could stem the avalanche. Their world crumbled. Cities exploded - a whirlwind of looting, a firestorm of fear. Men began to feed on men. On the roads it was a white-line nightmare. Only those mobile enough to scavenge, brutal enough to pillage would survive. The gangs took over the highways, ready to wage war for a tank of juice, and in this maelstrom of decay ordinary men were battered and smashed - men like Max, the warrior Max. In the roar of an engine, he lost everything and became a shell of a man, a burnt-out desolate man, a man haunted by the demons of his past, a man who wandered out into the wasteland. And it was here, in this blighted place, that he learned to live again. And so began the journey north to safety, to our place in the sun. Among us we found a new leader: the man who came from the sky, the Gyro Captain. And just as Pappagallo had planned, we traveled far beyond the reach of men on machines. The juice, the precious juice was hidden in the vehicles. As for me, I grew to manhood and in the fullness of time I became the leader, the Chief of the Great Northern Tribe. And the Road Warrior? That was the last we ever saw of him. He lives now only in my memories
Just thinking of my older brother in the navy this fills me with courage and bravery and I’d like to say... you can not rewrite the past but you can rewrite the future, sincerely Isaac thomas
While I understand the dialogue over this cinematic was appropriate for the story because Nate was practicing his speech for the ceremony I believe it's more powerful to just let your mind run free to interpret what's unfolding. The greatest stories often have no words to accompany them.
"War... War never changes... In the year 1945, my great-great grandfather, serving in the army, wondered when he'd get to go home to his wife and the son he'd never seen. He got his wish when the US ended World War II by dropping atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. The World awaited Armageddon; instead, something miraculous happened. We began to use atomic energy not as a weapon, but as a nearly limitless source of power! People enjoyed luxuries once thought the realm of science fiction. Domestic robots, fusion-powered cars, portable computers. But then, in the 21st century, people awoke from the American dream. Years of consumption lead to shortages of every major resource. The entire world unraveled. Peace became a distant memory. It is now the year 2077... ...we stand on the brink of total war, and I am afraid! For myself... for my wife... for my infant son... Because if my time in the army taught me one thing...: It's that war... ...war never changes..." This game is a masterpiece...
traci beachel Because it took away the "RPG" aspects of the Fallout games. New Vegas and Fallout 2 are the best games of the series considering you're- well you're playing YOU. You can be whatever you want and pretty much do whatever you want. In Fallout 4 you're honestly just playing a character trying to find his son, a copy and paste of Fallout 3 but in reverse. There are some good aspects of Fallout 4 like the gunplay but the storyline is mediocre and so are a lot of the quests.
traci beachel I say its a copy and paste of Fallout 3 because instead of finding your father, you're finding your son. Which is like I said, a copy and paste but in reverse in terms of those two games. As for the other three games, at least they made those quest lines unique, considering the choices you can make upon doing those quests. You can literally convince the Master to commit suicide causing him to pretty much destroy the entire base. Or you can simply fight him, or if you want you can join the super mutants and become one yourself and destroy Vault 13. In New Vegas, you play as a Courier, but the choices you make are just as good as in the original Fallout games considering how linked they are in comparison to 3 and 4. You can help the NCR and create a democratic New Vegas. Help the Legion and create a Fascist nation, or be entirely independent and ignore the factions for a truly independent New Vegas. Not to mention that the writing and dialogue is great in New Vegas and 1 and 2. In Fallout 4 the dialogue is pretty bad considering you're only given four options that pretty much all result in the same thing. And the voiced protagonist takes away the whole playing "yourself" aspect. Im not bashing 4 as it is a good game, but I don't consider it to be a good FALLOUT game. Fallout 3 wasn't bad and in fact interested me in the franchise at a young age. But looking back on it especially after playing 1, 2, and New Vegas, I can safely say that 4 is extremely dumbed down in terms of what makes Fallout so great.
traci beachel "New Vegas fanboys won't ever shut up" yeah but not only fanboys bot most of Fallout series fans, critics and everyone. If not the time obsidian had to make New Vegas the game would be even better. While F4 do some things good and some things bad New Vegas do almost everything right.
This music reminds me of my grandmother. I lost her when I was 6, I loved her very much. Still, when I listen to this song I always cry, yesterday I cried for my beloved grandma
Michael RObinson both Vegas and 4 are brilliant in their own ways. Vegas harks back to the original two games whilst 4 offers much better crafting and core gameplay.
BlackSkiesProductions Wrong. He didn't just remove the audio. He made this entire theme from scratch using audio editing software and his own piano. Which technically makes it a cover -- which makes this cover his property. Shorter version -- Bethesda owns the song, he owns the cover.
"A few people have wondered how I did this, I completely re-created the music from the ground up in Logic Pro X by re-orchestrating the strings, and playing my own piano. This isn't taken from the original in any way or form :) "
oh lol...when you complete it there will be a another cutscene like the intro, could you make the song from it pls :D btw ur very talented, this vid is awesome
+Homur Sompsin There are alot of endings for the game, do they all use the same song? I've only beaten it once and that was the brotherhood ending. Just wondering, thanks!
The fact that this intro was written from an in-universe, pre-war perspective makes the whole intro movie seem that much more meaningful, as the world sits on the brink of total war, all anybody can think is. *War, War never changes* (Except they added settlements, war has changed)
Fuck I love the fallout games, they are things of beauty, everything from the atmosphere, to the score, the soundtracks, all the pieces of old stories you find in your travels, to the times when you feel like a complete unstoppable bad ass then the times when you feel so alone. These games are complete masterpieces, if they ever made a movie out of it, it would have to be done right, I'd definitely go and see it.
I was very emotional through a lot of my first play through of this game. Right from this intro, to stepping into the shoes of a character that saw the world as it should have stayed, only to emerge into a nearly unrecognizable irradiated ruin. All because of man's hatred and greed. It struck a chord in me. So, nope, definitely not the only one at all.
I hated how fan servicey this game was. Because I was conscious of it, but this was my first game of the series. Btw it's absolutely amazing that you remade this to near-perfect accuracy. And thanks for doing it! It's a perfect moodsetter for a lot of creative processes.
Seth R.C how was this game just fan service? It pissed off a lot of old fans for fucking uo the lore. I know this comment is old but Jesus Christ I couldn't hold it in.
((Playing as Nora)) Nora: *looks at Nates body* "I'll find Shaun. I promise." *Places hand on Nate's hand. Begins to cry* "But I cant just leave you here!" *Turns away and cries more* Then Nora would carry Nick's body and give him a proper burial while this song is playing. I think I might've just given myself depression
+The questioning Velociraptor I didn't take out the voice from the original, I completely re-made this from scratch in Logic Pro X (Music software). I played all the parts, re-orchestrated the strings, and played my own piano :)
It'd be cool to play a Pre-War Fallout game where you play as an Elite soldier who does government work and one of the last missions is to prevent someone from launching the nukes and the game ends with all the bombs going off and your main character dying or entering a vault and watching the fallout universe begin
Lars Slind, 1:58 did an amazing job capturing the emotion Power Armored soldiers felt at the time. When the T-51B's were deployed in Anchorage, and the Chinese mainland, it's widely known that per engagement, a single squad of T-51B operators could cut through hundreds of Communist adversaries at a time. Could only imagine the mental distress after a battle, where you firsthand, saw thousands of men being cut down by gunfire with no hope of survival.
War....war never changes. In the year 1917, my father, serving in the marines, wondered when he would be able to go home to the wife and son he'd never seen. He got his wish when Germany signed the Treaty of Versailles in 1919.. The world awaited German Armageddon . Instead, something miraculous happened. we began to finally have world peace, not have another war. People enjoyed peace once thought the realm of historical fiction. French - controlled Lorraine. A subdued Germany. but then.. in the 1930s.... Fascism took power in Germany. Years of unrest in Germany led to the rise of Hitler and Nazi ideology. .The entire world unraveled. peace became a distant memory. It is now the year 1939. We stand on the brink of total World War. And i am afraid. For myself, for my wife, for the rest of the free world. because if my time in the army taught me one thing, it's that war. war never changes.
They are kind of the same thing, Nazism has the same political layout as Fascism , if you know what I mean, but Nazism centers more around the Aryan Race.
Seeing the evolution from WWII to 2077 was pretty legit with no voice. I really liked how even without the voice a new player would be able to see how Nate followed in his grandfather's footsteps.
They said everything would go fine before the war. our home , our love one, even those whom ready for battle watched that day during the bomb. My wife and I didnt know what to think but knew survival was first and last. Now in those cold harden cave made by greed and test over fear I sat and waited 200 year. my age thrive but the old world is my nightmare to live in. Ever since I realised seeing the bones and pre war tech that war just never changes and it all we get the more we want. To you my love Norah I'll find Shaun and hope this fear become my strength to the bitter end. Fallout 4
The weapons of war change, but the destruction and the pure awe of warfare never change. Neither side is righteous, or wrong. All in all, lives are lost to the steamroller we dub war... We're aware of its effects yet we still seem to keep fueling it. War... War never changes.
Abuyin ibn Djadir if it were possible to run efficiently with such a large game, i know Bethesda (giving the time and money) would be able to put out a product with this kind of atmosphere. Only time will tell if tech advances to support it
Nah, besides if they did do this everyone would have a hissy fit about it not being like the rest. I believe that although it captures real fallout and war perfectly, it doesn't capture the sense of chaos and nuclear war properly.
Pre-war Fallout could be one heck of a movie or TV series.
JorgeAraujo97 you are onto something
Nah thats just not what fallout really was about from the beginning
And also post war
"Hey Mike, what are you up to?"
"Nothing much bob, just founded this thing called jet"
(10 minutes later)
"Ugh... My head... What the-OH MY GOD I KILLED MIKE!"
Great idea huh?
JorgeAraujo97 fallout 4 vault life could be a movie too
Pretty Intresting track, but you need 5 more holotapes to find Eddie Winter.
Nick i already shot eddie winter in the head, fix your chips
Nick, Eddie's the only one with a working Nuka Cola fridge. I think we should let him live.
Nick, Nick ....... I already did that!
Nicky! I thought that you died in the COA Submarine in Farhabour when YOU REFUSED TO LEAVE THE GOD DAMN COFFEE MUG ALONE!
but I love you Nick
And yet, Mr. Metal-for-hands still doesn't know how to get back to the factory...
You're gonna knock em' dead at the veterans hall tonight, honey.
Oh, they're dead alright.
China beat him to it
You think?
Definitely.
Now get ready and stop hogging the mirror.
for some reason seeing the man at 2:00 gives me chills. You would think that someone in a badass suit of power armor would be pumped but his face is pure dread and horror. Best intro for a game ever
I wouldn't say dread and horror. It's more like battered, bruised and tired, but ready for more in a few moments
He looks tired and I dont blame him
@@nikolakaravida9670 yeah he isn’t shaken, just tired and almost entranced from what it looks like
@@theidiotnamedjay5501 Yeah exactly. Tired and lost in thoughts.
The thousand yard stare. When you've killed too many of the enemy, watched too many friends die beside you, this is what you become.
Only a few seconds of a scene, but a great job by the actor.
The background score in this game is phenomenal. Ridiculously underrated.
I agree. It seems to implement a situational/ environmental trigger for certain tones. Similar to red dead redemption 2’s music score system
Feels...Feels never changes...
+White343 Makes me so sad when I listen to this!
I think you need some heelys for your feelys.
Look at the back right at 2:00 that guy is holding the original mini-gun, they changed it in fallout 4 to the kind where it looks like Heavy's mini-gun from TF2
i remember when i start the Game, o get to personal when i play and the feels DAMN you are right...
+White343 like war ( says at same time as narrator ) war never changes
War does not determine who is right...
But who is left...

This is wonderful, But there's a settlement under attack. I need you to go help, Here, I'll mark it on your map.

I'd buy it.
And with a better engine as well
I'd pay good money to play Before the Fallout: Anchorage, or Before the Fallout: Shanghai. Forgive me Mama!
No thanks, Id rather leave the vision of prewar America as a guess rather than a known since that adds to the themes of exploring a strange new world
IMO, it should be a DLC like operation: anchorage rather than an entire game.
Fallout 4: War never changes.
Battlefield 5: War has changed
*who do i believe*
Fallout, because BF5 is a joke.
Fallout 4
Fallout 4 because they put effort into it
Battlefield V is ass, so definitely Fallout 4
BF 5 sucks BF 1 was Way Way Way better and Fallout 4 the triple
interesting how it tells its own story, even without the narration
If anyone wants to know, name of that guy in power armor in 1:58 is Lars Slind and he is also the voice actor for most Brotherhood of Steel soldiers.
and if i am not mistaken, the name of that girl in 0:48 is Jean Louise O'Sullivan.
looks like danse
RGaming i thought it was the soul survivor.

The fact that you re-created this from scratch is unbelievable, good job
This is even sadder without voice 😢😢
What's amazing is that it doesn't even need the narrative. The pictures and music tell the story perfectly all on their own.
Imagine if Bethesda actually made stories that made you feel the way this intro does...
Styx Monster Shows they are capable of writing and making some excellent, emotional and thought provoking content. They seem to have fallen at a few hurdles though jumped them with the best intentions. But scenes like that truly show why they can be a brilliant company.
This whole damn game is depressing i even cried a bit when i figured out that his/her son is the leader of the institution

Really makes me want a Fallout movie... ;_;
+Rogue Games Turning a game into a movie never ends well.
Corbin Redmond That is very true... Maybe if we got someone like Spielberg involved? :P
I think it would be better as a really high budget tv show because of how long the games are
+Mad Max Rockatansky The universe is vast, but if you take away the side quests and looting, the main story is actually quite short.
Brings tears to my eyes 😭
remember that in fallout 3.
I would forget new Vegas

this song inspired me to write a book about war. with luck, It should be published by, 2029 or 2035, long time I know but most of that will be me trying to polish it up and then trying to find someone that will publish it
I will leave a portion of the first part here.
Chapter 1.
War burnt into the eyes
“The world spins around me as my eyesight blurs, the ringing in my ears is unbearable, my skin is sloughing off an-”
“Sorry, but could you go back farther?”
Her words aren’t rude, she is undoubtedly trusting that I am not a killer.
I smile and speak carefully and quietly.
“Of course”
“The year was 2011, I had been drafted into the U.S army. H-h-He, I’m sorry it’s just, he was the best outa all of us, he was only 15, he was still a fucking kid, always had a smile on his stupid face.” Tears begin to fall from my charred face and scared cheek
“It’s okay if you need ti-”
I cut her off
“NO!”
I startle even myself with how loud it was.
I took a step inside and the door clicked shut behind me, next thing I knew I was in free fall, falling and falling on end, I can’t remember what happened next, come back later”
She has a layer of steam built up on the inside of her helmet.
She remains seated, she seems lost in thought.
“Could you explain what happened to the rest of your squad?”
My squad… I had locked that memory in the darkest sector of my mind, long-held down by other memories.
I speak slowly, trying to stop myself from crying as the memory rushes back
“In… Time… Patience…”
She sits waiting, all I can hear is their screams, them calling out to me
“I’m ready when you are”
“Than I shall begin”
Chapter 2.
They just couldn’t kill him, they had to shoot him 5 times with a .50 calibre at point-blank range, then they moved to Lieutenant Delang, she only stared at me and frowned before giving me a thumbs up, at this something in me snapped, and I took a chunk out of the guard’s hand, he recoiled and swore, then I charged at the glass, the impact knocked me to the ground, glass shards slide their way under my skin, blood oozes from my head, but I stand back up and charge at the Guard with his rifle trained on her head, I slam into him and glass flies out of my head, it impales his right eye, but he doesn’t scream, doesn’t even move, I turn to see Gabe with a gun trained on the guards skull, he orders me to move, he has a gun, but I decide to take in all my options, I could grab the rifle and shoot him, but that would be unfair, so I move.”
I take a deep breath,
“What’s wrong?” the lady stares expectantly, hanging to my every word.
“The fact that I didn’t die”
Her eyes widen, she didn’t expect such an answer I assume
“I assure you, ma’am, I am not suicidal” the words are cold and emotionless
I hear a gunshot, followed by 7 more.
I’ve heard that sound far too often, an M1911, standard-issue among American soldiers, but it’s a long-forgotten sound for most, but that sound reverberates inside my skull, bouncing like flubber.
Someone taps my shoulder.
“You still in there?” she says this jokingly, I can’t stop myself from smiling
“Okay, I will continue my story as soon a-” I stop mid-sentence, I hear the familiar sound of a grenade, it sounds different than any I’ve ever heard, I stand and search for the pipe I’ve kept hidden.
Chapter 3
Gas, Grenades and Grand twists
I move fast, if I don’t she will die
its a long chunk for a comment so I will reduce it to chunks of the first second and the first few words of the third.

But seriously, this cutscene is epic and the music gives me chills.
Quite sure those are B24 Liberators.

What I meant was that it's strange they chose to associate that piece of imagery with that part of the speech, is all.

Would've been epic to see a dlc of the war between China and the USA. Like something like this. So you go to the memory den and go back to when you served in the war. You do some missions and shit that would be so awesome to experience the pre war weapons and culture.
hazardous gaming fallout 3 already did that. Operation: Anchorage
LedZep 102 But operation anchorage is a simulation not the real war.
In the fallout Universe, the US army never managed to stablish themselves in china, that is why we can not see the military service of the sole survivor, because the story was already told in the operation anchorage dlc of fallout 3

While I understand the dialogue over this cinematic was appropriate for the story because Nate was practicing his speech for the ceremony I believe it's more powerful to just let your mind run free to interpret what's unfolding. The greatest stories often have no words to accompany them.

This game is a masterpiece...
traci beachel Because it took away the "RPG" aspects of the Fallout games.
I wouldn't call it that. It's not bad, but it doesn't deserve to be called a masterpiece.
Mason DeLong gameplay is still badass, but the story sucked ass, now the Witcher 3 is a masterpiece...
traci beachel "New Vegas fanboys won't ever shut up" yeah but not only fanboys bot most of Fallout series fans, critics and everyone.
The fallout 4 gameplay as well as the game itself is extremely emotional.
Bruh what?
I said the gameplay was emotional. Can you read?
Schnatten nigga you think this is good? Play new vegas
Michael RObinson both Vegas and 4 are brilliant in their own ways. Vegas harks back to the original two games whilst 4 offers much better crafting and core gameplay.
George Jones fair enough, can’t argue with that.
That was amazing, I might use this in a battle video at some point if you'll allow it. Really hits me in the feels. ;)
Cosmic Contrarian The cutscene and music belong to Bethesda.
Original theme in game is different
GamersOnVideos That is not how it works..
Could you make the song from the final cutscene pls
I haven't completed the game yet! :O
oh lol...when you complete it there will be a another cutscene like the intro, could you make the song from it pls :D
btw ur very talented, this vid is awesome
+Homur Sompsin There are alot of endings for the game, do they all use the same song? I've only beaten it once and that was the brotherhood ending. Just wondering, thanks!
+ClassMcGeek yup, ending cinematic, different in game responses
+Cthulhu i think the ending theme from 3 and NV are better for an ending, this however is perfect for an intro
The fact that this intro was written from an in-universe, pre-war perspective makes the whole intro movie seem that much more meaningful, as the world sits on the brink of total war, all anybody can think is.
*War, War never changes*
(Except they added settlements, war has changed)
Fuck I love the fallout games, they are things of beauty, everything from the atmosphere, to the score, the soundtracks, all the pieces of old stories you find in your travels, to the times when you feel like a complete unstoppable bad ass then the times when you feel so alone. These games are complete masterpieces, if they ever made a movie out of it, it would have to be done right, I'd definitely go and see it.
I can't be the only one that cried during this part
no it shows a world in peace and with technology , then it's greed and eventually its dowmfall
WTF it's Cam I cried
WTF it's Cam your not the only one
Why are you guys crying within the first minute of a video-game?
This is actually somehow much better than the original. Which is very rarely the case. Well done yet again Sam!
Beautiful but depressing, I love it
War is a beautiful blessing and a horrific curse . It kills hundreds of millions of people but yet after each war we advance in technology

Btw it's absolutely amazing that you remade this to near-perfect accuracy. And thanks for doing it! It's a perfect moodsetter for a lot of creative processes.
I agree with you, my friend. I am actually listening to it for inspiration while storyboarding for a mod!
Seth R.C hey me too man I love this game now I'm starting to play the old games and I'm still playing this game till this day
Seth R.C how was this game just fan service? It pissed off a lot of old fans for fucking uo the lore. I know this comment is old but Jesus Christ I couldn't hold it in.
This game wasn’t fan servicey. It just had the lore fucked up. Get your facts straight kid
Ah, good morning sir! Your coffee 175.3 Degrees Fahrenheit, Brewed to perfection! And todays newspaper, just delivered!
Chills baby, chills.
In your description you said if anyone could find the original track but I think you just created what everyone is looking for lol
When the bombs go off that when we’re given a hole-less grave, as our bodies are disintegrated by the explosion our shadows of our fear still stands
perfect song for my WWII project, teacher will never know
+Caleb Peters how did it go, anyone in the class recognize it?
war.....war Never change
War has changed
war never changes.
Mgs 4
War has change cuz Pmc with ID shit and Raiden is pacifist :,V
War change was the has
It is no longer a question if humans will Die out
It is a Question of when we will Die out
So go out there smell the roses while we still can
War never changes indeed. We’re back on the precipice.
((Playing as Nora))
Nora: *looks at Nates body* "I'll find Shaun. I promise." *Places hand on Nate's hand. Begins to cry* "But I cant just leave you here!" *Turns away and cries more*
Then Nora would carry Nick's body and give him a proper burial while this song is playing. I think I might've just given myself depression
This is the version that the game should have opened up with. The omission of the voiceover has a profound effect on the emotional delivery.
How did you do this? Take out the voice i mean
+The questioning Velociraptor I didn't take out the voice from the original, I completely re-made this from scratch in Logic Pro X (Music software). I played all the parts, re-orchestrated the strings, and played my own piano :)
SamYungOfficial Wow.... Something i can never do
+SamYungOfficial that's absolutely insane dude.. Props to something literally almost no one can do
+SamYungOfficial No pro tools?? Logic's legit though too.
+SamYungOfficial dedication at its finest
It'd be cool to play a Pre-War Fallout game where you play as an Elite soldier who does government work and one of the last missions is to prevent someone from launching the nukes and the game ends with all the bombs going off and your main character dying or entering a vault and watching the fallout universe begin
This is amazing Sam, I really hope you go places with your musical talent, shame the game couldn't live up to the chills this gave.
For myself, for my wife, for the rest of the free world. because if my time in the army taught me one thing, it's that war. war never changes.
robot 1435,
Fascism and Nazism are Not the Same thing
They are kind of the same thing, Nazism has the same political layout as Fascism , if you know what I mean, but Nazism centers more around the Aryan Race.
Booooooooorrrrrrrrinnngg, can we go back to shooting plasma rifles and laser weapons now?
@@Hal-uu8de wow
This fits well for Wolfenstein
I feel like this will actually happen one day 😐
adam beaupre me 2
Bound to happen
yeah.. someday i hope i die before that all happened
adam beaupre meh thinking that can ruin weeks death by nuclear annihilation can only ruin one day
It has happened already
War.
War never changes
+
+SniperSurvivor War changes, war gets worse as the world grows.
+ClassMcGeek Yeah but its still war
+SniperSurvivor pretty much never change all that change is how fast it take lives.
Seeing the evolution from WWII to 2077 was pretty legit with no voice. I really liked how even without the voice a new player would be able to see how Nate followed in his grandfather's footsteps.
The fact you totally recreated this is mad, hope you do more like these
They said everything would go fine before the war. our home , our love one, even those whom ready for battle watched that day during the bomb.
Fallout 4
the war has changes
-solid snake
That moment you realize the intro was actually a sad reminiscence of how life used to be and what led up to the bombs...
Holy crap, this is real good. Great work, you got some major talent to recreate all this!
what I love about these games they are old fashioned yet future ristic at the same time, it's just an entire setting on its own
People who don't like Fallout 4 are clearly insane. the amount of heart that was put into its attention to detail is incredible
Gavin Wilger what made me dislikecit was the story content :s
Gavin Wilger I dislike it becasue I can't role play in the game like fallout new vegas, 1, and 2.
(Grabs Power armor helmet and puts it on, and walks down the road into the wasteland with Dogmeat alongside)
BRUDDUH, SHOW ME DA WEI!!!
godzilla691138MW3 *strong disliked that*
Danse liked that
Intro: war is cruel and painful
Gameplay: go have fun killing everything you want
The weapons of war change, but the destruction and the pure awe of warfare never change. Neither side is righteous, or wrong. All in all, lives are lost to the steamroller we dub war... We're aware of its effects yet we still seem to keep fueling it.
War... War never changes.
Fallout franchise is just a dystopia
Beautiful master piece
I liked this intro more than the game itself.
Abuyin ibn Djadir if it were possible to run efficiently with such a large game, i know Bethesda (giving the time and money) would be able to put out a product with this kind of atmosphere. Only time will tell if tech advances to support it
I would have loved if it started right at the end of this trailer fighting on a battlefield -_-
Ish Except Capital Wasteland project was canceled due to legal reason (not bethesda's fault)
Seathe your weapon, I said, seathe your weapon! Clever boy.
SRSLY
Comments...comments never change cuz of the "war...war never changes" comments
I've been missing out on this game. Glad I finally got into it
who thinks this one should have been the main theme?
cyborgskelli me
Me
This IS the main Fallout 4 theme.
Nah, besides if they did do this everyone would have a hissy fit about it not being like the rest. I believe that although it captures real fallout and war perfectly, it doesn't capture the sense of chaos and nuclear war properly.
