  • Every year Jeep brings some new and exciting concept vehicles, not to some stuffy car show, but to Easter Jeep Safari, an event packed full of off road enthusiasts. Last year they brought some fun stuff and here is a quick review. Which is your favorite, and what do you hope to see at this year's EJS?

    Personally I would love a basic jeep, manual transmission, solid axles, lockers, no power options, a decent engine, just a good off-roader with only stuff you need and no bells and whisles

      You could always get a Roxor....that's really the most basic Jeep out there.

      You literally just described a Roxor, which Jeep attacked and tried to sue a few times.

      Unfortunately Jeep has to build vehicles for the largest audience they feel they can sell to. People like you and I who just want a fun basic vehicle to sometimes take off road are in the minority. So we are locked into buying older Jeeps and maintaining and modernizing them to our own tastes and that's really not all that bad is it?...

      @@mikereinhardt4807in Phoenix there are lifted JLs everywhere. It’s the status vehicle here I guess. I sure see JLs when I go play in the dirt, but not the thousands that you would expect from the ones you can’t even count on the street.

    I like that they brought out something not-a-Wrangler. The Grand Wagoneer was cool. I thought I was watching a magic show when I could only see from the waist up in the camper.
    Build up a Grand Cherokee or anything else not a Wrangler.

    Not interested in all electric but if with a range extender maybe. The torque from electric axles is appealing but not plugging in every however many kilometers. Also I'm very unsure of the battery tech being that we live in northern Canada. Love the concepts Fred and next time don't hold back just because of wind, the video was awesome ❤

    I’ve always thought the gladiator needed its own front clip. Not just a JLU with a bed. Some of these concept vehicles are so good it’s sad they don’t make production.

    How many times have you said, " Welcome to Dirt Every Day?" I bet it is a lot. I see some cool new Jeep ideas there. I think the 392 is overcompensating for small oem in the shorts... The straight 6 or V6 is usually plenty.

    No more electric. Especially on the trails. If it runs out of battery, you have to bring in a generator. If they catch fire, it's impossible to put out and will cause so much damage.

      I agree, but I don't think anyone is being "forced". But electric is coming, whether we like it or not. And I personally won't buy one. But we absolutely need to invest in the technology as a country. So we aren't dependent on other countries for the technology. We need to be world leaders, not dragging our feet living in the past.

    • @nateb754
      @nateb754 3 месяца назад

      @@rediron44not so much. In the last couple of months a lot of manufacturers have backed out of and reversed course on their dedication of full electrics. I think it’s much more likely most things become hybrids.

    While I personally think we should slow down n ride horses n bicycles alot more, I also think that the trucks of today are needed. Electric is fine, but not as long as lithium is the battery standard. There are too many problems with lithium batteries: explosive nature, low temperature performance, strip mining to get it. Also the power grid cannot handle the charging needs of everyone using EVs. I think Hybrid is the current best EV and will think that til there are better power to weight ratios in batteries and better power grids to charge batteries.
    Personally I am looking at Edison Motors Hybrid conversions.

    How many Jeeps were responsible for catching people's house's on fire the past year was terrible for Jeep. Jeep should invent a Jeep that doesn't catch on fire. Everything designed by Italy is, has been a recipe for disaster.
