I feel like they could tweak the heal to make it work in some way, like maybe making it an install state where she gets like a certain amount of heals on hit on a timer or something like that. I'd really love to see her back too

From what I remember, EX dash punch was always + on block. It could also lead into Ultra 1 (Ultra 1 also had followups). He also had a super, super good dive kick, his movement was very strong and his whole kit in general was really solid with him also having good combo damage. He was a very versatile character who was threatening pretty much anywhere on the screen.
Refreshing. Lovely to see USFIV still relevant to this day, and players still upload serious content about it. I remember when I was watching that match you played, and back then I didnt even know you existed, you did amazing in that match. This just confirms why USFIV is the greatest FG ever to exist.

Truth is, I enjoy playing Elena on Sf3rd Strike. I played Elena for 11 years now and I hope she makes it on Sf6. Hopefully other characters on 3rd strike or on sf4 makes it on sf6 and good luck to the players on this year EVO.
I quit during Super Street Fighter IV which I had thought was the game at its best. I was really surprised to even hear about Ultra being released because it felt like SSF4 was so perfectly balanced.
I played Elena in USFIV, but I never used healing. Only reason being is I could never rely on myself to use it correctly lol but she is one of my favorite characters and I pray they bring her back in VI
Funny I love Elena that I wish she could be in street fighter 6 because a capoeira fighter will make the game super unique but like you said about the healing “OH HELL NO” in sf6

The premature release of SFV was the only thing that "ruined" SF4. I don't disagree that Elena could have used some patching, but even in its final form, USF4 was one of the more balanced fighting games while also being enjoyable from the standpoint of a player AND a spectator.
They should delete those last characters they added from the game and it would make it more balanced again. There was so much pressure to get it balanced and then they just ruined everything.
how did exactly Elena ruin USF4 again? it doesn't add up. only 3 Elenas were @ Capcom Cup 2015 (Justin Wong went out 0:2, Xiao Hai 1:2, GamerBee went out 2:2 - eliminated with a Perfect from Tokido) meanwhile: 10+ Lukes in Capcom Cup for SF5 last season -> MenaRD won with Luke 10+ Lukes in Capcom Cup for SF6 first season -> hopefully Luke army is stopped next weekend on a personal note, I have 1000 hours in USF4 and fought her online in exactly 2 matches (and I won both). in SF5/SF6 there's orders of magnitude more Luke players online.. and I wouldn't exactly say Luke ruined SF5/SF6...
Don't forget she had only been around less than a year in 2015, and she still dominated the entire season (aside from not making top 8 at CPT) for the most part. That goes to show how strong she was when players were obviously unoptimal with her back then and still had amazing results. Now there isn't big money on the line and very few USF4 tournaments, you don't see her that often, even online... how surprising haha
And they ruined the character. Her animations and design were so cool back in third strike and they just f'd it all up. She was my main in 3S and I didn't even want to use her in this game
I want her back along with the twins who were also broken. I just want Capcom to balance them right in SF6. Outside her brokenness she has interesting move sets and if they can come out with characters who only use punches then why not a character that only used kicks.
It’s strange I played akuma, m.bison and sagat throughout the lifespan of sf4 (didn’t play sagat in vanilla) and never really had a problem with the most problematic characters as the game progressed. I even played evil ryu when he came out and was the number 2 evil ryu player online for a brief period, got as big as number 5 with m.bison. I never even found Elena to be much more than an annoyance. I was always most frustrated with Decapre. Certainly as well as I did though, I probably never quite faced the fiercest of players.
To be fair, I think all those characters did decent against her, I played Sagat and Yun and always had Sagat ready for Elena. I also had a tough time against Decapre though, hard to uppercut when she's flying around haha

USF4 was abandoned 1-2 patches a little too early because of SF5. It's too bad, but I'm a casual with only 300 hours of play on Steam. I play on Arcade mode only on Extremely Hard difficulty and highest round settings once or twice a week (trying not to lose a single round), and I have a great time. The game has its flaws, but it's still my favorite Street Fighter. At least until the time that USF6 is released, anyway. 😁
It's still my favourite Street Fighter game! I don't think her addition affected casual/single player modes at all, it was more the competitive scene that got heavily impacted by Elena. Hopefully we do get a USF6 one day lol. Thanks for watching!

Hate to be that Internet guy but i warned all of my buddies and the FGC in my area that this would happen if Capcom slapped Elena on the game. Especially with healing in HER KIT. 🤦♂️🤦♂️ Nvm the fact her type of character playstyle the parry system from SF3 checked her if that makes sense. Elena/Bison/Sagat/Yun/Poison/E.Ryu Sheeshh lol
TBH i don't even have her in my top 5 Eryu, yun, akuma, seth and poison are all better than her and have much better matchup spreads. But shes deff 6th haha.
I hated that Elena was so busted because I liked the character in general & wanted to main her. And I'd like her back in some fashion But playing her in Ultra made you feel dirty. Plus I don't think Elena's moveset would survive in SF6. She's stuck in her move animations and overextends herself a lot😂. That'll get you murked hard in 7.
that whole update ruined the game, so many stupid choices made by "community managers" who didn't really have any idea what they were doing. unblockable setups were a massive issue particularly at that point in the games lifecycle, but the remedy was so half assed. not to mention red focus was a straight ret@rded addition for certain characters throwing the balance further into question, all of the new characters were such low quality too as you've mentioned here. im still so salty about it after all these years😂

Decapre is worse imo, the recovery on her reversal is ridiculous. Rolento rolling attack also hard to counter. Ultra was such a bad way to end SF4.

Just enough to get a life advantage can swing the whole round in your favor, especially a game as defensive as USF4
