This is definitely a Church dish. We call it Pineapple Soufflé where I am from in Philadelphia! Yums! Goes great with a honey ham and baked beans!

We make this every Thanksgiving...and we love, love, love it. Thanks, Paula. Btw:: I pour the pineapple mixture in my big mixing bowl and get the cubes of bread covered fully.

hi Paula, thanks for your videos. It`s been pure pleasure with you. I´m learning american cuisine. Made 3 pies :D, I have to practise my crust. Made peach-mango, apple and choclade. And now some food learning, too. I live in Finland and here winter is near.
This would also be good with mandarin oranges, or add coconut for a pina colada bread pudding. When you said ham- I thought of those breakfast casseroles. You could put ham, pineapple and green bell pepper for a Hawaiian version like the pizza. How about ham, cheese, and pineapple. Seems like a lot of possibilities for different versions of this. Thanks for the recipe. I had this at a potluck once but didn’t like it. Maybe that lady who brought it just couldn’t cook. Lol. I’ll have to try this myself.
I made this. It was delicious, but too dry. Not all my bread was saturated so i had bread that was dry. I used a 9x 13. Maybe adding some milk or cream would help?

I've been making this for years, but call it scalloped pineapple. I put the bread (any kind of bread) in a large bowl, and pour the pineapple mixture on, adding in about a cup of miniature marshmallows (and sometimes pecan pieces if I'm feeling festive); before placing it in the baking dish.

When I lived in Savannah almost 60 yrs ago, my mom's friend made the best sausage gravy, not lumpy with sausage bits. I would love to see that, also she made divinity. Really miss the trucks that did home deliveries that sold salt water taffy, yum! Don't miss the humidity, snakes, alligator in the creek after a hurricane though.

I've been eating sherbet every night since the beginning of the summer. I've found that the Harris-Teeter store brand of sherbet is excellent, very creamy almost like ice cream. I alternate the various fruit flavors like raspberry, orange, lime, and pineapple which is my favorite. I really look forward to this nightly treat.

My family has ALWAYS loved this 5min crock pot recipe!!! Beef Burgundy!
A package of beef stew meat
1 plagerized Lipton Onion Soup mix,
1 can Cream mushroom soup
1 cup red wine
Cook on low 6-8hrs and serve over egg noodles.
Could blend about a 1/4 cup of heavy coconut cream in with the egg mixture and sift some powdered sugar to finish.

To make sure it is all moist after cooking I would dump all into a large bowl and mix together thoroughly. Then put into baking dish and bake. I am a pineapple lover thru and thru. I know I would love this. Nice visiting with you today Paula!

On that recipe I would have made the liquid part a little more wet and thin with some half and half or heavy cream so it will seep down to the bottom because it looked too thick at first. I would also add some rum, amaretto or bourbon in that mixture as well!

We make it in PA and it's called scalloped pineapple. We add cinnamon to the top and with ham!

This looks really good! But typically when I see bread pudding made they put the bread into the bowl of custard, mix it all together and then pour it in the baking pan. I think that's why some of your bread was dry. I totally agree that it is screaming for ice cream. And someone suggested coconut and macadamia nuts I'd be all over that
