To get permit as an adult in TX: Get Aceable plus 1 hr impact video plus get your "permit to drive" at DPS bring your soc sec card and your proof of residency (at least 2 proof) schedule your dps road test at the test center closest to your home (20 minute driving test) bring that test result back to dps to get your license 😅 (phew)

I have a tricky question and I CAN NOT find the answer online. I have a adult permit because when I was 17 I got my permit and I never did my drive times pr took the driving test. I have since then renewed the permit to an adult license/restriction of 21+ older passenger. It’s not expired. I need to get my license but do I need to complete an adult drivers course or since I have license with restriction can I just go in with that and my documents to take the drivers test?? TX

What if you live in another state and you say you live Texas but you don’t will they still give you the licenses or not?
No but if you go to the DMV they can get your licensed changed to a Texan one

I live in San Antonio Texas and it says on the dps FAQs that you have to apply(verify all documents) before taking your drivers exam, not all in one appointment
So the lady told me to take a 6 hr course online but if you 18 and older then i can go take the test
my appointment is in like 8 hrs ill let you know

@@jwproductions8572 I'm not sure but I did myne online so no need to go at the DPS. Once you complete the Impact 1 hour course, they will send your serrificate by email. But make sure you have a valid email for it
