Why is NOBODY talking about how mcgucket was acting like himself one minute so nobody noticed him, only to grab dipper pulling him to the side acting more serious.
He’s smart, especially after starting to regain his memories. He knows it would be weird to people if he stopped acting weird.

The ending always creeps me out. I think Bill was actually looking at them.

The real mystery is, what do the Northwest's know about Bill?
Maybe the Northwesterns and possibly the entire town were once a cult or STILL is behind the scenes and Bill was the God they worshipped or there may be possibly an even bigger entity than Bill himself. The Author might actually be a former member or founder of the cult and defected and dedicated his life to research and stop the supernatural phenomenon and Bill. Maybe he created that gate/portal to summon someone powerful to combat or seal away bill cipher, or perhaps it was used to bring some of those creatures that lurk in Gravity Falls.
don't read to deep into this this is just a way for bill to tell anyone who saw that picture that he is coming and he will cause havoc in gravity falls

Why do they have that first of all
This is my favourite episode thus far. the ghost was a great mixture of gruesome and hilarity, the jokes were all funny and the growth of the too and fro between Pacifica and Dipper was handled brilliantly, helping to further develop her character (another couple to ship, but one that I can get behind). But my favourite part about this episode was this part, not only for the foreshadowing of the next episode, but also Dippers reaction. Instead of leaving the party to obsess on another mystery or supernatural threat, he decides to stay, have some fun and spend more time with the new friend that he made. now that is character growth.

Fun fact - Gideon was a major villain in epiosdes 4 & 11 of Season 1. In episodes 4 and (most likely) 11 of season 2 Bill is the major villain.
That's either one of the craziest coincidences or Alex Hirsch is a freaking genius. (I'll take the latter)

On a side note, love seeing McGucket again after his last appearance.
Man, when I watched this fragment of the episode, I was both surprised and shocked by such a plot twist! I didn't suspect until that fragment that Bill Cipher, a triangular dream demon who finds other people's suffering funny, would suddenly turn out to be a threat to the existence of not only the entire town of Gravity Falls of the whole world. I know that at first Bill was not the main antagonist of the series, but a simple trickster, but it's still good that he was given such a role.
So, I see bones at the bottom of the Bill Tapestry, a sea of flames, all (suppossedly) predicted by McGucket to happen in less than 24hrs in the style of an Apocalypse.
... I'm both terrified and really excited for the next episode if this is true.

ani_veanohi Well, usually the way GF works is 2 filler episodes, then 1 big episode, repeat. This episode kindof broke the rule, so I don't think there would be 3.9 filler episodes in a row.

If they went this far with graphic violent content in this episode with the lumberjack ghost then I have no idea how far they're going to go with Bill in his return for the apocalypse.

Kind of correct in hindsight. SPOILER WARNING
He needed Ford to return so that the space crack thet Ford contained would serve as a vehicle for his (Bill's) return. If Dipper had discovered it, he would've stopped Stan dead in his tracks, Ford would've never returned, and neither would've Bill. That said, such events spelled Bill's demise as well.
One question: why exactly do the northwests have that quilted up there

I think the show later implies that Bill has been playing around in Gravity Falls for a very long time, with him even appearing to ancient peoples. I don't think it's a stretch to say that the tapestry indicates that he's been influencing the community to his advantage.

I wonder why McGucket didn’t attempt to stop the activation, since the laptop shows the status of the portal, and if McGucket was the first to learn the danger of the portal, why didn’t he attempt to go to the Mystery Shack and stop the activation?
He doesn't have all his memories back. He doesn't know what's coming, just that something is.
Anyone else wondering what they thing with the bell was all about? It looked like Pacifica really had to obey her parents when the bell was rung, and she was physically having to fight it to open the gate. Could the bell be magic? Making her obey her parents without question when she disobeys?

My guess is that the apocalypse won't happen yet. McGucket said according to his calculations that there is 21 hours left. I think he is actually wrong and that it is really supposed to be 21 days. Alex Hirsch himself said that each season was about the span of a month, so 21 days is enough to fill out this season and place the apocalypse on Dipper and Mabel's last day in Gravity Falls. Then there shall be epicness!
