I have a question if the author of the journals (I know who it is just not saying for the fact that it is a major spoiler) why in the hell would he keep a page of the journal for summoning Bill Cipher if he knew he was evil and could wreak havoc on the world.
When the author found out about Bill's true motives, he hid Journal 2 immediately (without getting rid of the summoning page i presume) hoping no one would find it in a well hidden place. But Gideon happened to find it on accident, same with Dipper.

I have a question if the author of the journals (I know who it is just not saying for the fact that it is a major spoiler) why in the hell would he keep a page of the journal for summoning Bill Cipher if he knew he was evil and could wreak havoc on the world.
When the author found out about Bill's true motives, he hid Journal 2 immediately (without getting rid of the summoning page i presume) hoping no one would find it in a well hidden place. But Gideon happened to find it on accident, same with Dipper.
He didn't know he was evil from the start.
The journals were a way to write what he found,summoning bill was something he found at a cave so he wrote it
