- In this video we get a very unusual and rare 1983 Hutch Pro Racer in very good shape and completely overhaul the bike. We install cool retro tan wall tires and white cable. You just have to watch the video. I hope you enjoy!

I had a Hutch, a Kuwahara, a GT, and later a Haro. The Kuwahara was my favorite. I used to race a lot as a youngster and was sponsored by a local bike shop that had a team… thanks for the vid, brought back memories. Now in my mid 50’s My shins are still severely dented and scarred from those damn aluminum pedals, and freewheels. 😂

This brings back so many memories! I had a Hutch Pro Racer too! Although I had Araya 7X rims with bullseye hubs. KKT lightning pedals, CW bars, Tuf neck, GT laid back seat post and mushroom grips. I went with a blue, white, and chrome theme. Unfortunately, just like my Diamondback and my Redline, it was stolen. You got a great bike! I love that it still has the Hutch seat post clamp! I had the same one.

Well, my theory is that he upgraded as time went on like I did. I didn’t think that Z-Rims came out until about 1983-84 ish.
Could have gotten the sticker at the same time. By the time I was done racing my 81-82 DiamondBack Silver Streak the only thing original was the frame!
The Z-rim had a date of 1985. I will ask him when he comes back in.👍

This is crazy.......I have the exact same bike, chrome hutch no serial number, same white stickers, same brakes, same crankset and same white ACS Z wheels with suzue hubs and I was never sure about the year but mine has vector bars!!!
Take care of it. I wish this had Victor bars. Try to look yours up and see if you can find white decals. I'll be a son of a gun that you can. Thanks for sharing.👍

@@jasonmarshall7983 Thank you. I'm fine. I like the thrill of the hunt. I love finding Gt bikes at yard sales for $60. Torkers in basements for $90 and saving Mongoose Motomags from the scrap yards as people look at you like your nuts for wanting an old kids bike. I'll find something it's a goldmine around here for old BMX.👍
If it was drilled after as custom chances are there would be light surface rust at the rim where chrome was shaved off during the process. A couple of my frames lacked serial numbers, one of them was a Torker ll the other was a Mongoose.
On closer inspection you can tell it was drilled not in the factory.
look for the date codes on the hubs !
You scored well finding this one,it looks mint now too. I should think you must have one of the most interesting/best old school BMX collections around. 👍
I don't know about that. I probably have the best collection within 100 miles. There are a lot of BMX collections in North Carolina. Thanks for commenting.👍

It's hard to say. I have seen them go for as little as $1000 but I have seen them go for as much as $2500. It depends on the parrs and condition it's in.

Pretty sure that’s a pro raider
It not a Pro Raider. We had a Pro Raider in the other day and it was made in Taiwan. The Raider also looked a little different. We noticed the Raider has vent holes under the seatstay.
