I did the same thing to my old Trek 830 this past year. I also updated to 9 speed in the back. Ross bikes are especially loved in my home town because they were made right here.

I like what you did to the bike. It's nice to see someone closer to my age still getting out there and still working on their bikes. Since retiring myself some years ago riding and working on different bikes gives me something to do with my days other then yard and house work. I have l&s and look forward to seeing what else you are up to.
