    I feel like when you get sentenced 30-50 years, it's as if you've sent to another dimension. Coming out at the other side, you've basically time traveled. There's new technology, new laws, new inventions, new social norms and references...so much to catch up on. Crazy stuff.

    My dad lost both of his parents, a brother, and sister EACH separate time he went to prison. He was able to attend his parents funeral, in hand cuffs and shackles 😩 guards on each side of him. We weren’t even allowed to give him a hug... it was rough. He eventually got lung cancer, found out while he was in a small county jail. He kept getting sicker and sicker and the doctors didn’t know/care what was wrong with him, so they let him out early, on probation....so he was able to come home and do chemo for as long as his body could take it 😩😣😭 miss him everyday!! So I know lots about the prison life, from the perspective of the child. Thanks for sharing your experience! Lots of love. May God continue to bless you and yours 🙏🏻❤️🥰

      These stories make me so sad and upset. Could you invoke or appeal to that organization that reevaluates cases to help innocent people out of prison?
      Is it called The Innocent Project?
      They definitely could help your friend if they absolutely handled the case wrong especially not even using you as a witness who could have cleared your friend of charges and or a prison sentence. 😢And if people are truly innocent they can get to the bottom of it and free people. ❤

Not being able to see your child one last time or to be with them during their final days. Not being able to be with your baby after carrying him for 9 months. I am just so grateful to have been born into the family I was born into and that I stayed on the right path. I pray to God everyone who has a bad relationship with the law watches this and changes because I don’t think I’d wish life in prison on anyone. I’m 43 yrs old, I have 3 kids who are now adults living their own life, i had a hard life in the system too, but I’m so proud to say my 3 kids were nothing like me, all college graduates, great, kind hearted people. I was a teenager having my first child, everyone said horrible things because I was such a screwed up kid that no one believed I could or would be a good mom, My kids are great because they had a loving/understanding and present mother, where I didn’t! I was 9 when she put me into care, and every year when my kids turned 9 I would look at them and think I can’t imagine what they could ever do that would make me get rid of them. i think it's so interesting that the people who watch you range from people who've been in prison for years to younger kids who've walked the straight and narrow their whole life - i used to volunteer with the police in my hometown and I've never done anything lawfully wrong, but i'm OBSESSED with your channel, it's so interesting to hear about the American prison system because it's so different to the way it works in the UK (obviously both are terrible but the US seems a lot more brutal). Thank you for these videos Christina, they really are so influential

    Life +20.... What a weird concept.. It just sounds stupid how they formulate that... Life is enough +20 won't change a thing :p

    • @miasommers7065
      @miasommers7065 5 лет назад +7

      X-andra life is 25 years so plus twenty would be 45 years

    • @OhSnapItsTiaa
      @OhSnapItsTiaa 5 лет назад +20

      Marley 134 no, in some states (like florida where christina is from) life means literally your whole life. the +20 is for when you get 2 seperate charges (e.g. robbery and murder) and one of them gets dropped for whatever reason, you still have to serve the 20 from your other charge. you get a sentence for each individual crime you commit

    • @jean9567
      @jean9567 5 лет назад +7

      Yes life +xx years just means those sentences run consecutively, basically to ensure they still serve a bunch of time if they happen to beat one of the charges.

    I'm an EMT and got called to the prison for a male with a swollen leg. We get there and his leg is clearly broken but they didn't give him any pain killers and we were called 8 days after he had fell!!! We should of been called the day he fell but for some reason the prison waited to call us.

    i feel pity for the wrongly imprisonated but as for people who did bad shit like murder ( especially child murders), rape, assault etc can literally rot in there. earth has basic rules simply follow them. i like your videos because its letting people know that there are consequences for actions and the consequences aint cute

    You really touched my heart when talking about a family member passing away. I lost my grandma in prison only after being there for a month.. I couldn't go because the prison was on lock down because of covid. That was the hardest thing I've ever been through and I've been through alot. Some people in the free world who has never been in trouble before never even think about these things. You are so right!

    I lost my mother while I was in prison. This video was so hard to get thru once you mentioned that. I too, had an escape charge, but that wasn’t why I couldn’t go to the funeral. I couldn’t go to the funeral because it wasn’t at an “official” funeral home. It was in a family members private home. So I wasn’t allowed to go. I was locked up from 2014-2016. My mother passed summer 2016 just a FEW MONTHS before I was released. I will NEVER forgive myself, I can “heal”, and “grieve”, but forgiveness---never. Love you. Love your videos and honesty. 💕🙏

      Oh. My. Gosh. My heart literally sank at the first sentence and I was in tears by the end. I am so sorry. And I am so sorry you had to listen to me talk about it in that way.
      My heart breaks for you. I hope one day you can find a way to forgive yourself. I’m sure she would want that. Ugh, sending you a long and tight hug!!!! I wish I could hug you so bad.
      I love you girl 💜💜💜💜

I wished I had someone to tell me all this stuff and maybe I’d have made some better choices....🙏 I do hope someday to forgive myself but keeping it all the way real idk if I ever will.... I hope you continue to grow and all your dreams fir you and your family come true!!! Much love Christina!

    “U don’t have to give up on people, but don’t enable them” really hurt my soul cuz I’ve been in too many situations where I try to protect myself by not letting people like that take advantage of me, but then everyone makes me feel bad for not giving them a place to stay, cash, etc when I know they’ll just use it for something bad
