Life,people,jobs, can really get the best of you. Depression is real,suicide is the final stage where we become numb to it all and just want an escape. If you have never felt it you can not judge. Raven, this isnt Dennis, its his wife Donna. I keep trying to explain, convince, prove to my husband, Dennis that Depression is real. I was already suffering with depressiom on Valentines Day & he was criticizing me ( major understatrment! Dennis never doew ANYTHING by halfs) for just sitting around, not gettin dressed, not getting his ever growing list of "chores" etc i was Expected to do. Suddenly, he jumped up, packed a bag & ABANDONED HIS CLOTHES, ALL HIS "STUFF" HIS DAMN DOG & oh yeah, ME!! I spiraled even further into depression, to the point where I couldn't get dressed I didn't shower I didn't eat and as Chester said I hated everybody I wanted it all to go away and leave me alone curl up in a ball and just die! My counselor says I'm not suicidal but I don't want to live either and she nailed it there! But the point that I was working up to is my husband doesn't believe in depression he is always telling me to quote-unquote, "SNAP OUTTA IT! or DEPRESSIONS A COP OUT! YR JUST LAZY!" and a few other goodies. My counselor sez there are many people out there of the same opinion and I should not feel ashamed of something that is a disease & to disregard my husband as hes deflectin his own inadequacies onto me! Its a daily struggle, Depression. I use the A.A. NA/HA AL-ANON rule of One Day at a Time, One Hour at a Time, One Minute at a Time & One Second at a Time if you have to! But im astonished at the number of ppl who mistake Depression for Laziness!
@@dennishputerbaugh5552 donna I hope you see this...my bf of 16yrs always says JUST GET OVER IT,THINK POSITIVE OR FIGHT!!!! I understand where you are at with him..it frustrates us even more when you have no kind of understanding or support..like I tell him,you know 0 about depression or wanting to just end it,so how can you say just snap out it!!! Until it happens to you and you struggle for yrs with it,you have no understanding of how we feel...I deal with manic depression, have bipolar,generalized anxiety,the suicidal thoughts that enter my mind when I get so low are horrific..BUT IT IS REAL SUFFERING AND PAIN...you have 0 energy,motivation to cook,clean,bath,go to work,socialize.you feel completely empty inside.no feeling at all.the insomnia or nitemares are horrible..you are exhausted at with end but sleep doesn't come. Toss turn all nite,or all day you sleep to escape the dreaded thoughts,feelings...trust me,you do not just snap out of it.and sometimes even meds do not help...I have been on so many..but I do know I need to find something to take the edge off soon,I been off meds 6 months and I have been depressed like no other...my anger,irritability, frustration, crying,sadness has been off the chain..so can't no one tell me you can do it without some kind of meds..mental illness is REAL. We do not just become lazy,or detached from reality for the sake of it..we are mentally sick..our brain is sick...do we judge people with cancer or diabetes or any other organ in our bodies not working right? Well our brain is an organ also,,it can become sick too...it's sad we have loved ones judging us instead of help coping with it..a lot commit suicide because they feel they have no one to turn to...Depression, bipolar, anxiety all is 100% real.
