Last April I found out a childhood friend I hadn't talked to in awhile killed himself. I got in the car and my stereo came on and this song came on after the last song I listened to b4 school ended. I had to wait in the parking lot until the tears weren't so heavy I could drive home. It hit me hard and still does.

Today was a day that was coming. My dad made it into heaven today. 1:07pm my dad passed away. My dad and I would sing Linkin Park songs from In The End to Numb to me in the car in my teen years. I would sing Mike/Chester's parts and my dad and I would sing Chester's part. His last words were "Glory to God" and "I love you, buddy." Those memories will last for a lifetime. I love you Dad, Isaiah.

Before I finally started working past the loss. Before I started working on actually living again. Today? I am happily married to a wonderful woman. With a 5 (Almost 6) year old son. And an almost 8 month old daughter. I use the experience from 14 years ago to help others. To relate to people and feel their pain, to relate... I saw you guys live in 2012 and it was the absolute GREATEST concert I have ever seen... We miss you... You changed lives, you battled the very demon that claimed you for others... Two days ago I lost 2 friends of mine to depression. 1 of them was like a little sister to me, I hired her at my gym, trained her myself, and eventually she became the general manager of her own gym, and enrolled herself in college, she was only 21. She was so bubbly and happy, always with a smile on her face. Depression hides itself well, the happiest people are the saddest sometimes, myself included. Surround yourself with love and take care of yourself. I may not know who you are, but I care about you too.

Played this at my autistic sister's funeral a few months ago. She was 36. She never said a word, but people from different stages of my life, my brother's life, and my parent's lives showed up not just for her, but for us too. They showed up because they care. I found myself telling a room of the most important people in my life that we are the helpers, and to keep caring. This song was the perfect way to end the night. Will never forget it.
One of my brother's favorite bands was Linkin Park. We lost him to cancer a few months back but I still can't listen to this song without crying. Since he was terminally ill he had time to plan out his funeral, and he requested this as one of the songs to be played. Everytime i listen to this gem of a song i can't help but to get teary eyed. Being a fan of Linkin Park since i was in middle school, and now being 25, Chesters' passing really did hurt. He sang about his pain, his sadness in many of his songs but listening to them now it has a whole new meaning to them, despite understanding and knowing of his struggles (Depression) and having to deal with it myself, and it's still a battle i struggle with. Songs like Iridescent really did save me in my teenage years. Chester you were not weak, you were hurting, the battle got to overwhelming and you made the choice to lessen the pain, but thank you for not only helping me, but literally millions of others in the world who too suffer from Mental Health issues. You're a legend, you always will be. Your songs, their meanings - the depth, the message, it will never be forgotten, nor will you. Your impact on many people's lives will remain solidified within our hearts. Thank You once again Chester, Linkin Park. I hope you found your light, your glimmer, you deserve it all.
I'm 26. I remember the very first Linkin Park song when I was in elementary school was In The End on MTV at my babysitters house. Haven't stopped listening to this day. They were the rock of my adolescence days. More than any other musicians. Saw them in concert my freshman year of highschool. I'm so upset. Chester Bennington was the Kurt Cobain of our generation IMO.

After the first couple of times, after a hug, he always asked who I was on the road with, then we just seemed to continue where we had left off in our previous conversation. A friend of mine died this year. He was the kind of person that would take the shirt off his back to make sure you were warm in a snow storm. I told him when he got cancer that money was no object i would spend every last dime i had to keep him alive.....he knew the cancer would be very progressive but kept it hidden from me, he loved my 3 children. He wanted to live his last days without radioactive chemicals in his body. The verse "And you're angry and you should be" hits me hard because my selfishness wanted him to fight, but i now know that him going the way he wanted was the best way. When somebody says a picture is worth a thousand words......I think in music a Song is worth a thousand memories.

Friend of mine took his life three years ago. A week before he passed away, I spoke to him and we still made plans to do something that following weekend. When I asked him how he was, he said he was great and things were going well. I never suspected what was to come. It was an absolute shock, I still remember reading the text from his mom the day it happened, I went numb and collapsed to the floor in tears. If you are reading this, always check in with your loved ones PROPERLY, some people are proud and wont admit to the agony they are experiencing behind closed doors. That‘s often the case when they‘ve decided to end their lives. It gives them a sense of peace… Do check on them, if you experience something like that.

Last April I found out a childhood friend I hadn't talked to in awhile killed himself. I got in the car and my stereo came on and this song came on after the last song I listened to b4 school ended. I had to wait in the parking lot until the tears weren't so heavy I could drive home. It hit me hard and still does.

Today was a day that was coming. My dad made it into heaven today. 1:07pm my dad passed away. My dad and I would sing Linkin Park songs from In The End to Numb to me in the car in my teen years. I would sing Mike/Chester's parts and my dad and I would sing Chester's part. His last words were "Glory to God" and "I love you, buddy." Those memories will last for a lifetime. I love you Dad, Isaiah.

Chester, you and LP saved my life 14 years ago. I had lost my pregnant girlfriend due to a jealous ex of hers and I gave up so much. I suffered daily at the thought of living. But all I needed to do was listen to Linkin Park and I found a reason to suffer another day. I attempted suicide so much because it hurt so damn bad to wake up. I suffered for 6 years. Before I finally started working past the loss. Before I started working on actually living again.
Today? I am happily married to a wonderful woman. With a 5 (Almost 6) year old son. And an almost 8 month old daughter. I use the experience from 14 years ago to help others. To relate to people and feel their pain, to relate... I saw you guys live in 2012 and it was the absolute GREATEST concert I have ever seen... We miss you... You changed lives, you battled the very demon that claimed you for others... Chester, you and Linkin Park are and forever will be heroes to many of us. To millions of us who have felt the same way that you did. That felt the same way I did.

Two days ago I lost 2 friends of mine to depression. 1 of them was like a little sister to me, I hired her at my gym, trained her myself, and eventually she became the general manager of her own gym, and enrolled herself in college, she was only 21. She was so bubbly and happy, always with a smile on her face. Depression hides itself well, the happiest people are the saddest sometimes, myself included. Surround yourself with love and take care of yourself. I may not know who you are, but I care about you too.

Played this at my autistic sister's funeral a few months ago. She was 36. She never said a word, but people from different stages of my life, my brother's life, and my parent's lives showed up not just for her, but for us too. They showed up because they care. I found myself telling a room of the most important people in my life that we are the helpers, and to keep caring. This song was the perfect way to end the night. Will never forget it.
One of my brother's favorite bands was Linkin Park. We lost him to cancer a few months back but I still can't listen to this song without crying. Since he was terminally ill he had time to plan out his funeral, and he requested this as one of the songs to be played. Everytime i listen to this gem of a song i can't help but to get teary eyed. Being a fan of Linkin Park since i was in middle school, and now being 25, Chesters' passing really did hurt.
He sang about his pain, his sadness in many of his songs but listening to them now it has a whole new meaning to them, despite understanding and knowing of his struggles (Depression) and having to deal with it myself, and it's still a battle i struggle with.
Songs like Iridescent really did save me in my teenage years. Chester you were not weak, you were hurting, the battle got to overwhelming and you made the choice to lessen the pain, but thank you for not only helping me, but literally millions of others in the world who too suffer from Mental Health issues.
You're a legend, you always will be. Your songs, their meanings - the depth, the message, it will never be forgotten, nor will you. Your impact on many people's lives will remain solidified within our hearts. Thank You once again Chester, Linkin Park. I hope you found your light, your glimmer, you deserve it all.

I'm 26. I remember the very first Linkin Park song when I was in elementary school was In The End on MTV at my babysitters house. Haven't stopped listening to this day. They were the rock of my adolescence days. More than any other musicians. Saw them in concert my freshman year of highschool. I'm so upset. Chester Bennington was the Kurt Cobain of our generation IMO.

Mat. I never worked for Linkin Park. But over the years, Chester and I crossed paths over a dozen times at airline first class lounges. After the first couple of times, after a hug, he always asked who I was on the road with, then we just seemed to continue where we had left off in our previous conversation.
Incredibly down to earth guy. After he left us, I would unconsciously find myself looking for him at whatever airport I was in. And would be sad when it hit me that he wouldn't be there.

But now, as an adult with depression and anxiety I wish I did paid attention sooner, your songs help me so much and bring me peace. Anyone else still crying in 2021? I lost my best friend to suicide in 2015. Linkin Park saved me from myself countless times. I was heartbroken when I learned of his passing, as if I'd lost another friend.

Can just listen to this over and over, and NEVER gets old.
A friend of mine died this year. He was the kind of person that would take the shirt off his back to make sure you were warm in a snow storm. I told him when he got cancer that money was no object i would spend every last dime i had to keep him alive.....he knew the cancer would be very progressive but kept it hidden from me, he loved my 3 children. He wanted to live his last days without radioactive chemicals in his body. The verse "And you're angry and you should be" hits me hard because my selfishness wanted him to fight, but i now know that him going the way he wanted was the best way. When somebody says a picture is worth a thousand words......I think in music a Song is worth a thousand memories.

Linkin Park brought me so much things, they learned me how to live more than anywhere else, and I'm so thankful for this.
They were with me in every moment, in the worst and the best.
Like a lot of people, I'm mentally sick, and I wanted to end my life so much time, too much.
But, like a good star, and in not even knowing, they gave me the strength to stay alive, and enjoy what I have to enjoy.
Now I can say it so loud, Linkin Park saved my life.
When Chester left us, I just.. never felt so guilty in my whole life, I thought like some people: "Chester give everything for us, and we didn't save him" .
Now, he is the brightest star on the dark nights, and we know it, he's looking at us, proud of what we are.
And.. just a special line for Mike, who's actually and for a long time, my model.
I find this man just.. so strong, and inspiring. He lost two of his friends, he had so much bad time, but, he stayed with us, making some prevention, and continued to give us the hope and the love that we need.
I will never be able to thanks him as he deserves.
But.. whatever, Thank you, Mike, thank you for never give up with us, you're such an inspiration.

Friend of mine took his life three years ago. A week before he passed away, I spoke to him and we still made plans to do something that following weekend. When I asked him how he was, he said he was great and things were going well. I never suspected what was to come. It was an absolute shock, I still remember reading the text from his mom the day it happened, I went numb and collapsed to the floor in tears. If you are reading this, always check in with your loved ones PROPERLY, some people are proud and wont admit to the agony they are experiencing behind closed doors. Jurie my friend, I miss you and I miss the days we used to hang out, play guitar, video games, drink and just laugh at the dumbest things together. His favourite bands were Strung Out, Rise Against and Linkin Park

But you were there always. Even if I don't have the honor to know you both I do know the experience. So I'm pretty sure that wherever your friend is, is very proud and happy to have met you. One thing I want to give you is share this tohught I learned about a while ago and hope it helps:
