I am not even a Kiss fan but this was fantastic! That is great they had that intimate little concert , Talking to the crowd storytelling that was awesome! Obviously they never would have done that back in their heyday 40 + years ago. It was good to see their appreciation and a little bit of self humility and the humor too , that was great.
Trust me, the super fan packet that includes sound check is not cheap. For the band this is a financial pleasure. Most sound checks don't take 40 minutes. They play a few songs all the way through for that huge bump in ticket prices these people paid.
I love these guys. Been a fan since '77 when I was 5. Theyre influence inspired me to begin learning guitar at 7 yrs old and still through today and hopefully tomorrow. My tastes have grown up going Metal and away from the rock and roll of my youth, but I still spin some old vinyls and few things are more satisfying. Kiss ARMY since 1978
At this stage in my life (I’m 53 and a KISS fan since ‘75), I’d much rather be here than at the live show! This was just so personal and special to me!
You are a very smart and blessed person to of have been there. These are real RockGods. They were the hardest working band ever. Pulling off double identity all those years was great.
I give them great credit... they're an AMERICAN INSTITUTION....MADE INT U.S.A ! Was never much of a fan... but great respect for them& their music. Everyone can't be VH or acdc.... or KISS. They're each their own unique entity with no equals, whose music & LIVE CONCERTS will remain for all time.

@@dronepro7316 Back then I don’t think so…not sure if the makeup was just something they did & not really to hide identity’s.? Honestly I had never heard of them before that night…Savoy Brown yes very much so , Kiss…nope. I was back stage the whole night, I thought I was the shit.😎😝

Im glad i can now tell my son ive seen kiss live after they’ve been retired. Congrats on almost 50 years Paul and Gene.
Gene still has his voice, as many others are pointing out. But of course, this is astounding. He hails from way back when and can still sing. He and the dude from Creedence Clearwater Revival and Robin Zander have managed to keep their vocal chords in tune and that is amazing.
Thanks Mike for sharing this video! I like when fans ask questions from the heart and when Gene & Paul answer in a way that shows they are sincere and not giving a worn out sound bite reply so this was a good Q&A. Room Service is one of my favorites so it was a nice way to end.
Tommy is probably the most valuable member of KISS ! He's done so much for that band and hasn't sought the limelight like so many before ! Btw He's quite an accomplished player !!!
The sound on this recording as awesome. One of my favorites has always been "Plaster Caster" because of the riff. But Gene sing it so well. This is one of the best live versions I ever heard. These guys change my life. Wil always support them as long as they want to play.

Great video shows they’ve still got it loved Paul joking about the lip syncing and Kiss coming out, but Let Me Know and Two Timer, Burn Bitch Burn, Hell to Hold you wow, damn we need more of this KISS.
wheres burn bitch burn?? i cant find it!
Wouldve loved to have seen a sound check like this
This has got to be the BEST Q&A I have ever seen with ANY BAND EVER ! ! ! In fact This Q&A was better then alot of concerts I have been too.... I am Speechless.. Thank you for posting this MR Mike Brunn !!!
Thanks Mike for the share. My wife had an emergency hospitalization and I was unable to see them in Dayton. This was so awesome. Felt like I was a VIP for 30+ minutes! Lifted my spirits while being by her side. It's not a KISS song, but actually Foghat. "When I was stone blue, rock and roll got me through"
I’m glad this was able to help in a small way. I hope your wife is doing okay.
Foghat: 1978!
Hope your wife is doing on leo..I live in vegas last 8 years..where their foin this souncheck..I did so many shows their..Meadows smphyhestre use to call it..in hRtford. T. Where I was born..great venue.
Try Jesus!! Is 1000% better,!!
Every one of these fans is an extra 270 bones. A hundred each for Gene and Paul, and 35 for Tommy and Eric.
@@johnhutchison9782 That's not bad , I think they gave them their money's worth I thought, that was pretty personal and cool if you're a big Kiss fan
@@johnhutchison9782 your math checks out lol
@@scottydog62 totally. I'd pay it if I had the money!!!!
Kiss ARMY since 1978
Love you guys, ❤️
At this stage in my life (I’m 53 and a KISS fan since ‘75), I’d much rather be here than at the live show! This was just so personal and special to me!
You are a very smart and blessed person to of have been there. These are real RockGods. They were the hardest working band ever. Pulling off double identity all those years was great.
My god! Crazy Night was my first song to introduced me with rock / metal music in early 90's 🤩🤘
I saw these guy play for a couple thousand people when they were just starting out back in 1972’ish I believe…I was even in their dressing rm with them watching them put on makeup & talking to them. I was 16 yrs old and worked at the venue.
That's an awesome story, one that you'll never forget. 50 years ago. Time is flying by, but they were good times. 👍
@@890r6 Very true…They we’re the opening band for Savoy Brown, they were really nice guys too.
Wasn’t their true identity behind the makeup hidden from the public?
@@dronepro7316 Back then I don’t think so…not sure if the makeup was just something they did & not really to hide identity’s.? Honestly I had never heard of them before that night…Savoy Brown yes very much so , Kiss…nope. I was back stage the whole night, I thought I was the shit.😎😝

AWESOME. FANTASTIC LIGHT SHOW, YOU GUYS GOT BETTER WITH AGE,
MR PAUL that was great you told people to reach out that have trouble! note i went to your concert in the 70s in Duluth MN and i think your guys almost burned the place down flames were to the sealing:)
I never in a million years thought I would say that Gene Simmons voice sounds better than John Bon Jovi.
It’s true though
Gene's voice ALWAYS was better then JBJ, he had a ok voice at best.... Even in his 80s glory
Always better...Jovi is a clown pumpkin patch for Brandon w/ 12 people! Garbage!
It always did in my world! Gene rules .
@@JHOFF111 he was good but never great , if it wasn't for the beautiful harmonies of Ritchie Sambora Bon Jovi wouldn't have been as good !
Ibanez "Iceman". What a beautiful guitar.
I can't believe this was shot 5 days ago and not 20 years ago, they genuinely look and sound great. I've heard so many bands over the years, from all over the world, but KISS truly deserve the legends tag. Peace
Gene sounds great, Paul’s voice is shot but still love them both! Eric is tolerable but I would throw Thayer off of the stage if I could.
Been Kiss fan since 1982. Paul & Gene are undoubtedly awesome. Love ❤ from Russia.
@@Duski67 why do that to Tommy? He is great live!
Look great?
Kissrocks. They know about rocking, they are the most amazing rock group ever.
I like this because anytime I want to hear KISS icon always go back and play this back , I had every album that they made until my sister sold them all in a yard sale 😡 but I have forgiven her 😃 not one scratch on any of them and the album covers were in great condition 😭 I will always be a big fan !!!❤❤❤❤
It's good to hear the old songs like Plaster Caster etc...I love it, the atmosphere is calm, I didn't know that in France at the time. It will remain a unique band in the world.🤸
I grew up with them in the 70s I didn’t get to see them until 2009. It was what I always expected awesome show I would like to see him one more time if I could
Still puts a smile on my face :-)
This really is great fun, & brings an earthy perspective to all the guys. Love their respect for the serving members . Good luck to all. Seeing them twice In Australia soon..
they're actually more fun and enjoyable here during soundcheck then they are at one of their regular live shows.
AGREED!
Sure. This ticket is more expensive
Yeah so them last summer in Bangor Maine. I wasn't impressed by the music. And I gave them all the COVID-19... 😆
@@scottdudley2740 it's garage rock. They do it well. But that's all it is
i was thinking that too. having fun.
Greatest band ever. When my son started listen to them I had to take him to a concert was one of my best memories as a father.
Best band ever? Totally and completely debatable.
Uh...no.
@@eightinches6094 Not even debatable...He said GREATEST band ever????? LMFAO. Only good thing about this GARBAGE Band kiss is they were smart back in the day to let ******RUSH****** tour with them.
Worst band ever
@Steve Not even on my top 500 list.
Saw em for the first time ever in 2019. I avoided it my whole life because i always saw videos and thought they were either playing to tracks or not giving it their all. Ill tell you what, i left that show with such a great appreciation for what these guys do. It changed my opinion totally. Probably the best concert of my life next to Rush. Im glad i can now tell my son ive seen kiss live after they’ve been retired. Congrats on almost 50 years Paul and Gene.
Say what you want about Gene, his voice is still in fine shape.
EXACTLY 😎👍🏻.... where are those idiotic naysayers 🙄
Voice good... but he really needs to lay off those Twinkies :)
@@onefatstratcat 😂
Seen these guys 5 times and they were great entertainers every time.
Love ‘em
Paul, you are the MAN!!! Thank you for the depression speech. I am a Combat Veteran, active duty Veteran. I have a lot of DEMON$
Thanks for posting. Love these songs. What fun. KISS means so much to so many people.
Gene still has his voice, as many others are pointing out. But of course, this is astounding. He hails from way back when and can still sing. He and the dude from Creedence Clearwater Revival and Robin Zander have managed to keep their vocal chords in tune and that is amazing.
They're tuned down an entire step. Most of his songs weren't written in his upper range. His highest stuff was written during the non makeup days.
You must live in a cave
@@jerrythomas4457 I live in a home, actually. Your comment seems strange--hostility for no reason, just gratuitous nonsense. Nothing better to do?
Robin Zander is probably the best sounding singer from that era. He is amazing.
John fogherty is the dude from credence clear water revival
Thanks Mike for sharing this video!
I like when fans ask questions from the heart and when Gene & Paul answer in a way that shows they are sincere and not giving a worn out sound bite reply so this was a good Q&A.
Room Service is one of my favorites so it was a nice way to end.
Tommy is probably the most valuable member of KISS ! He's done so much for that band and hasn't sought the limelight like so many before !
Btw He's quite an accomplished player !!!
Only probably is that his body does not look healthy. He needs to take better care of himself.
What classics did tommy write?
Talk about time flying! In two years it’ll be 50 years since I first saw KISS live!
I wish you got more of this Paul during the Kiss shows. Conversational in his normal tone. It's more real.

The sound on this recording as awesome. One of my favorites has always been "Plaster Caster" because of the riff. But Gene sing it so well. This is one of the best live versions I ever heard.

Kiss was my first-time concert experience when I saw them in 1973 -74 with a bunch of my friends back home at Cobo Hall in downtown Detroit Rock City God bless them

Gene and Paul are in their 70’s.

Thank you mike.im home watching this.taking care of my wife.she had a stroke.and I can't make the shows.but you get me there through your videos.your the man.
I’m sorry to hear about your wife. I hope she has a speedy recovery.
Gene has some good accuracy throwing guitar picks.I remember one time,i was sitting in the lower balcony.he threw one at me from about 200 ft and hit me in the chest.
200 feet ? LMAO Rick Nielsen is the king of throwing picks and the farthest he can do is maybe 20 feet. Picks don't have wings. They are so light weight so they won't go to far
Dont know exactly but i was way up in the seats,it was far..
@@markdeleon5610 just bettering the story....i liked it!
I measured 20 ft,thats not far at all,i know picks can fly farther than that,we need to ask Gene how far he can throw a pick.
@@markdeleon5610 200 feet wouldn't be hard at all ... but after nearly 50 years I would think you would get real good at it. 😎👍
I saw these guys the first time July 4, 1975 at Florida Jam. It was my first concert. We were all much younger. I was from $hit kick CA and hadn’t even heard of them, and Gene blew my mind!
You got me beat. Inthink it was November of ‘75 when I saw them at the Omni (now only a memory) in Atlanta. The LP Kiss Alive had just come out.
Back in those days Gene was skinny as a rail.
Without Peter and Ace they are no longer Kiss in my book. Now they are Kiss light plus two guys.
I first saw them in 1977 at Madison square garden New York! My first concert!
