How many bands would manage to give you one day a week, for so long, giving you over and over again a live performance worth remembering? Without practically errors or something out of tune? This is where we all agree that Nightwish is underrated outside of metal fans...
I'm going to be a bit of a fan boy, nightwish should have as much fame as metallica, gunsroses, queen, beatles, pink floyd. etc

"Fun"(or not so fun, rather) fact, back in the day when this was written, when Ewo, their manager, got to read the lyrics, he was seriously worried about Tuomas having kinda lost it and actually called him to ask whether he was okay or needed someone to talk about this. It's THE "pissed off Fairytale Floofball lastly exploded in a hellfire"-song. And still, for some reason, it's a composition, rather than a frenzy between the cooking pots.
So she's sick in this concert and still pulled out an incredible performance. Floor is truly a consummate pro. Thanks for the reaction Chase, I'd never noticed that psycho bit!
Slaying the Dreamer has a special place as the first Nightwish song I ever heard, courtesy of a piece of artwork I encountered on Elfwood (yes it was that long ago!) and I loved it. Racing off to get all their back catalogue. It wouldn't be until I went to uni and started meeting people who wanted to go to gigs that I got to see them live and I'd made my peace with never seeing slaying the dreamer live as it's a pretty obscure song on their back cat (compared to say Romanticide) .
THEN they did the decades performance at Wembley and pulled this out. I went NUTS. It is SO good live and I was so happy to hear it. Husband was laughing his head off at me during the whole song because I was headbanging and bouncing like a loon.

Floor has been the cause of a worldwide shortage of superlatives since exploding on the reaction scene - Phenomenal and exquisite both fit, although she is in a class above - She is just Floorgasmic!

Stargazers is my favourite nightwish song of all time (next to that, Sacrament of Wilderness). You should DEFINETLY take a listening to those two :)

I wonder why people who complained about the pauses never actually appeared in any of your premieres. I'd like to see them in the livechat and counting the pauses together happily. Speaking about horror film references, I've noticed quite a few in NW songs as well. Tuomas even paid homage to Halloween on TGSOE #horrorfilmfans
The "Psycho" theme also pops up in "The Poet And The Pendulum" and "Yours Is An Empty Hope".

Another older song from "Century Child" in 2002. Obviously a Tarja song. Quite an over the top ending. Always something different. Great job Chase. I think you are correct about the "Psycho" comment. Tuomas uses this dissonant stab technique in a few songs to create that "something about to happen" anticipatory vibe. He is extremely focused on creating anticipation and signaling changes to his compositions by using many different techniques. I feel this is why his musical arrangements create such emotionally moving soundscapes. Loved it as always my friend. I look forward to both your next one as well as the videos to come with Julia. The day chase does any nightwish reaction happens to be a very good day to me and also if you feel the need to rewind or pause then please do ,if we want to watch nightwish uninterrupted then we wouldwatch their official videos but the reason I love watching Your RUclips reactions for These videos is for the insightful breakdown and your thoughtful comments everytime you pause usually followed by some info that I certainly would find fascinating and wouldn't necessarily think the same answers etc .you are with out a doubt the very best reactor when it comes to nightwish and for this amongst other reasons is why u are so popular amongst genuine us . As a 17 year long and strong Nightwish fan who absolutely LOVES Floor and thinks she’s the best AND most versatile singer I’ve ever heard, I honestly think Floor started pretty rough on this song and got better as it went along....also please Forget “The Day That The World Breaks Down,” do “Everybody Dies” LIVE by Ayreon (unless you watched Tank’s reaction already cause it’ll lose something if you’ve seen it lol).

This same song performed by Tarja on End of an Era is very, very good version as well, hope you'd react to it in addition to this. It might be a good pick to consider each singers unique strengths. After listening to both live versions myself, I give this one to Tarja, since her dark tone compliments the atmosphere of the song just too perfectly!
I've always said Floor and Nightwish are perfect match. But to my own surprise wathing End of an Era again now I think I might agree with you in this one, or at least call it a draw :-)
I respect Tarja as a singer - I just don't usually like her style, but on Slaying the Dreamer in End of an Era video she sounds great and is really into music (not waving to crowd like to kids in a merry-go-around as in some songs...) Her voice cuts through hard which sounds great, complemented with headbanging and attitude - nice!
I like both versions a lot, Floor gives it more emotions as always, Tarja shows her best sides. My favourite song from Tarja.
I agree with this. Nothing wrong with Floor's version and I do love the more playful, horror film feel to this, but I prefer Tarja on this one so far. But I've only heard Floor do it once, which is this video. I'll have to see what she's done with it at other gigs, I think!

I give it to Floor because she is just better story teller She puts so much emotions there and her vocal range allows her to modulate voice in different part of song story to hit you much more. Tarja just sings the same every song. She sings great, but she can't do much outside of her comfortable zone.
