This song was written early on in the bands life. Born from Tuomas' frustration with execs making demands of the band that Tuomus didn't want purely to be commercial. Slaying the dreamer, them trying to kill his dreams. I love the line gather your precious glitter and leave me be.
Tuomas wrote this song after drunken bar night where someone totally stanger to him came and bashed him and the band with no reason. He has told that he had to delete a lot of curse words from the lyrics the next day. So this is what you get if you piss off Tuomas 😄

you should watch the whole decadces show from buenos aires its absolut great ant there are more old songs then new ones, also some nice moments where floor drinks whine from a bootle and else :)
This song was originally written for their founding member & lead female vocalist Tarja Turunen. For me this is not among their best songs & it also sounds better with Tarja on vocals, although one must also remember that Floor was really sick and could hardly talk during their South-American tour & hadn't still fully recovered for this Buenos Aires show.
@@Kazumatempest There r so many songs from this concert that Floor would never have done except for promoting the Decades album. Her vibe is totally different. I prefer Tarja on all those old songs. That doesn’t mean I don’t listen to Floors version and enjoy them. I understand why people are obsessed with Floor. That’s why you guys don’t need to disrespect one of their founding members to elevate her. Floor doesn’t need it
Sorry Matt but I must disagree with your assessment of Empu looking like Brett Hart. I've always thought he looks more like Ronnie James Dio. Finally I think you guys really need to check out Greatest Show from the Tampere show. Have a great day from a misplaced Buckeye

Handsome Emppu squeezes everything he can out of the guitar 🤝👍👍👍👍👍👍🤘this is cool
The fire in background is coming from Floors personal transportation, it's her badass Dragon parked out back
One of my favs! Great job & glad you enjoyed it too! 🔥🤙
Mat and Chels really enjoy your Nightwish reactions! - keep up the good work!
Thank you!
Great job guys and fun reaction - try out 'Sacrament of Wilderness' from this same show for a nice contrast to this song.
This is FIRE!!! 🔥🔥🔥
Loved your reaction Chels & Mat! Peace out.
If you want to cry, just listen to The Poet and the Pendulum live in Wembley, it's got everything, an emotional roaller-coaster
Hi folks here’s a complete banger for you. Epica “Once upon a nightmare “.
The breakdowns in all their songs are AWESOME....
Yes this song is a banger. Super legit all around banger!
I feel this song has a strong 80"s vibe to it. And that is a very good in my humble opinion! \m/,
mucho grazie from the nederlands... just love.... the music

Floor Jansen just did a cover of Let It Go from Frozen on her channel, Chels! ♥️ 🤘 ❄️☃️
lmao you are fast.
@@hi_keith6423 Like Speedy Gonzalez!
Makes you miss the world where we had this.
Tuomas said he's a huge fan of a big and dramatic sound. This song is all that and more. Very theatrical, I'd say.
That break down has such a Pantera vibe to it 🤘
Bro, same thought here
Another kick ass shirt dude, I also have a Spaulding shirt, RIP Sid Haig. Nightwish 4 life! cheers \m/

She's metal mom - has hubby and three yr's ol daugter...
The End of an Era version (2005) is more darker and harder.
the range that woman of a very gifted rock and metal singer cool harmonizing between Floor and Markco and that dark dissonance at the end there
What a performance considering it is rumored that Floor was recovering from a bad cold during this concert.
Remember Tuomas is writing lyrics, he might very well be a vampire. He keeps drinking that red liquid during the whole show.
LOL!! You are definitely NOT the first to mention Emppu's resemblance to Bret Harte. 😂😂
Mira ese tema pero con Tarja live ......

Even if this song was made for Tarja i cant see her singing this song as well and bringing the same energy that floor does same with Ever Dream.

Can you please react to black tongue second death. I know you’ll love it
I would like to recommend "Weak Fantasy" from Tampere (ruclips.net/video/AN239Pbqbjo/видео.html) for some delicious harmonies between Floor and Marko.
This song is nothing without Markos Perkele
Did you react to "song of myself" yet? Then do so, you will not be disappointed
I see you have a His Infernal Majesty (HIM) tattoo over there but I don't think you have reacted to any of their songs yet?
We haven't but we've talked about doing one for a throwback video soon. Chels has never watched any of them. - Mat
