The victim and her boyfriend, Robert Maltby, were attacked by a number of teenage boys while walking through Stubbylee Park in Bacup, Rossendale, Lancashire, on 11 August 2007.[1] As a result of the severe head injuries Lancaster sustained in the attack, she went into a coma from which she never regained consciousness and died of her injuries thirteen days later. The police said the attack may have been linked to the couple wearing gothic fashion and being members of the goth subculture.[2]
Five teenage boys were later arrested and charged with murder. Two of them were convicted of murder and sentenced to life imprisonment. The other three were convicted and jailed for grievous bodily harm. Disclaimer: Tarja has a realy impressive Voice and i respect her, but her Voice colour was not my thing.
Anette is also realy good singer, but on stage that does not work for me that well.
Floor on stage, singing and stage presence, for me outstanding.
I try to imagine how hard it was for Marco (and the other Band member) to wait more than 5 years to finally get her in the Band.

Finally someone who has the guts to say it. I always thought Tarja's voice sounded a bit too closed, as they call it in vocal coach terms. But I did like Nightwish and their creativity. Anette was a mismatch imo. Floor opened the door to a larger audience. A band like Nightwish deserves a Vocal Queen. And Floor is the one.
Its really sad that we need to put a disclaimer for these situations :/

Tarja, Annette or Floor, each has their own pluses.....but only one is a gift from the gods. Floor is everything, she can sing as sweet as can be, or she can growl.....and to top it all off she is a stage general, she commands the stage, and feeds off the energy from the crowd. I in my 63 years on this planet have never heard her equal, and probably never will. She is awesome and Nightwish is so much the better for asking her to join them.

You got to admit that the current Nightwish goes for it and holds nothing. Heavier is not always better, but for Nightwish so far that's the way.

She just is so much more versatile. Tarja was Superb at the most demanding operatic part but still I think Floor does so much m ore. But the magic is in music. None of them alone would be able to create such magic alone.

Ellen M Yeah, this isn't my favorite Nightwish song, but Floor blew me away and gave me an appreciation for the song that I didn't have before. I find that Floor does that a lot with a bunch of Tarja era songs (for me).

@@EllenM1967 Yes you see the chemistry they have on stage. With Tarja it was more like 'Okay I do the songs, and then I'm away', while Floor is really part of the band. She often refers to the guys as her 'brothers'. That says enough.

to answer your question, yeah the current drummer (Kai Hahto) used to be in Wintersun.
Voted down, but not because of your reaction, because of the song itself. Don`t get me wrong i had a blast listening/watching ALL your reactions to Nightwish with Floor and she is indeed a beast. But in this song ... it feels to me like she doesn`t know how to approach it, how to tune it, it sounds bland and empty of feelings/emotions/passion. Is just like someone from the news reading a piece of papper about some random fact. Here it feels like the band hard carries the song rather than the singer.
The soft melodic voice of Tarja is more suited for some Nightwish songs than Floor's. "Nemo" is another of them, "Bless the child", "Ever Dream" and so on. While Floor's voice makes u want to headbang,/jump around/lay on the floor (pun!!), i like Tarja's way to make u feel like closing your eyes and get ported in the fantasmic of a song through her voice. Imo they should let Tarja's legacy songs remain the way they were performed originally and just make new songs that fit Floor's style.
I'm amazed at how she can do the metal growl and scream and then switch right into the operatic voice.
Jukka actually stopped touring after the tour Wacken '13 was recorded. Kai joined them as a fill in recording EFMB and became the permanent drummer this past July. BTw Emppu is working over the whammy bar to get the effect during his solo.

It's rare for me to say this but I actually prefer the Tarja version of this song. Just a little bit though :D. Probably has something to do with getting used to her pronunciations and rhythms etc... Like every small piece of it that sounds different bothers me a tiny bit :D

There are just a few songs that sound better with Tarja and Anette. I prefer 'Nemo' and 'Amaranth' from the original singers but Floor is slaying all the other songs with ease. I just love her and the new energy she brought into this band. Also, I've never enjoyed the harder Nightwish songs more then with Floor.
Nightwish has gotten 100 times better with Floor, when you see the boys on stage and the fans go crazy all over the world! But that's my opinion.
Both are great ... Both with their own vocal quality .. You can't compare them... Both did a great thing with this song...in fact Nightwish did ....as a whole band

Tarja has a darker operistic voice. It's more powerful and brings more goth vibes. I prefer the version with Tarja. Nightwish did his name been known as a symphonic gothic metal. It was the big diferencial they had. But I love Floor too, specially in After Forever or Revamp. By the way, please, react to Supremacy with Tarja ❤
I dont think its more powerful, its more headvoice with operatic higher notes. Floor is more powerful on chestvoice and has much more stronger sounds. Like het sound that she 'added' in the final seconds of ghost love score. The good thing is that she can switch to heavy metal which makes it complete for me. Like 'yours is an empty hope'

I've seen NW with Floor live and I LOOOOVE her. God she lives the songs and it's a party with her.
I've seen Tarja live with NW and solo and she drew me into some very dark places with that dark timbre of her voice and I spent lots of time staring mesmerised at her. And then she just smiles and dances and you're having the best time.
They are so different yet equally amazing. I'll just keep enjoying both of them and Nightwish as a whole. ✌

Floor is great at the first part of this song, but that second part isn’t as good as with Tarja. Don’t get me wrong, i love Floor and i think she’s the best singer for Nightwish 🙂 Marko is great as always, Emppu is killing it and Kai is a beast!
