Oceanborn is one of my favorite albums of all time.
Absolutely! Once, Oceanborn and Wishmaster are amazing albums but I've loved all of their albums so I'm a little biased. The evolution of the band has been amazing over the years. Like many I was surprised and thrown a little bit by Human:Nature but having now understood the messages of the album it is up there as one of my legendary albums alongside 'Powerslave' (Iron Maiden), 'Highway to Hell' (AC/DC) and '...and Justice for All' (Metallica).
Nightwish have been so lucky to have enjoyed all 3 singers but I actually think those vocalists have allowed Tuomas to evolve their music. I know some people didn't like Annette but I think her studio performance on Imaginaerum is very playful with a sinister edge that suits the album perfectly.
Personally, I thought that this was a great version of Stargazers and if you close your eyes you really cannot tell whether this would be Tarja or Floor singing.
I just want this pandemic to come under some control so I can get to Wembley in December! However, if it doesn't happen, I'll be making sure I catch them as soon as possible anywhere in Europe.

You, sir, are very animated :) This was the first Nightwish song I ever heard. I remember thinking - Wow, this is a cool mixture of vocals and rock - then I heard the first breakdown and KNEW this was it. This was Music Perfected. I've been a fan ever since.
Everytime I listen to another song of theirs... it's an amazing musical event! None of their songs are disappointing or bland... they're all freaking unbelievable!!!

you should react to Nightwish - "nightwish". it was the first song they ever recorded together, and the song they got their name from, as well as their deal with roadrunner records (they're with nuclear blast now though). there is no live version, I don't think, but it was on their "decades" album. also, it's acoustic.

I prepared my university admission exams with oceanborn... so much intensity provides the full album. Give it a try.
Stargazers is one of the songs in their first popular album from 1998, Oceanborn. So, it’s 22 years old now.
You should go back and listen to those studio albums before the live orchestra recordings, Oceanborn, Wishmaster and Century Child. They were done with Tarja and featured a more power metal sound. It will give you context for how Nightwish came to be the force of nature they are today. Once was the last album with Tarja and the first to feature the recorded orchestral bits (before it was just synths). You will also get more of Emppu showing guitar skills.

you have to react to The Pharaoh Sails To Orion (Live DVD) this song is from the same album "Oceanborn".. the 2n album of the band, at this time the band hasn't the "Symphonic" the most of the "sound" plays for tuomas' keyboard... for that he's more present in the songs ... you really love the song !

Just for the fun of saying it, both Tuomas and Jordan Rudess of Dream Theater play the Korg Cronos keyboard.
You said Tampere pretty well (correctly with a harmless accent) for following Floor's lead, she has practiced the Finnish name. The key in Finnish spelling is that every letter is always said the same way no matter in which place of the word it appears, and doubling a letter means that sound is - double long. The main exception is NG which is said like in 'soNG', only in Finnish it only appears as double long inside the word. Finnish sounds a bit like Spanish % Italian spoken more calmly, like mixed with Scandinavian, but not the melody. Finnish speech melody is pretty flat, something like the West or Midwest
