This is a masterpiece. This composition goes hand in hand with "Devil In The Deep Dark Ocean". Both are very theatrical and would fit perfectly in a full on flaming theatrical musical production.
Thanks for the great reaction, knew you would love this Coach, one of their heavier songs, and it's great. I love the energy in the crowd when they come out of the break. Tuomas is a genius, it's almost criminal that this band is more popular here in the states, we prop we some pretty sad acts as being talented, and yet Nightwish is virtually unknown.
Regarding Anette.. I love her voice in Tuomas's slower songs. I would recommend 'Eva', which is about a school girl who is bullied and 'Meadows of Heaven', which is about childhood and innocence. Both are just magnificent in their beauty and message, and they really highlight Anettes voice. Love your content coaches! ❤
Absolutely. Those two songs are both truly beautiful and show more of the range Nightwish has. I'd be surprised if Mrs Coach wouldn't at least like them. Studio version is best with Anette, and in fact many of the more "poppy" or softer Anette-songs are great but don't get enough acclaim or exposure because of music style, her not being Tarja or Floor and the song not being live. For example "The Crow, the Owl and the Dove", "Rest Calm", "Turn Loose the Mermaids".
Emmpu is always happy EXCEPT during the song called "Dead Boy's Poem". Empuu doesn't smile during that song. It is apparently Tuomas' self written obituary or how he'd like to be remember after he dies and Empuu is serious through that song. BTW, this tour they were on is called the Decades Tour. It was a sort of anniversary tour where they played a lot of songs from 10 to 20 years back. Love to see you folks do the Dead Boy's Poem from this same concert.
Tuomas wrote this song to get out his anger at persons close to the band who never really believed in them and were always trying to crush his dreams of making it as a musician. A ton of extremely personal songs in this era. You can feel the emotion.
Another good reaction, Coaches. This is definitely a “Tarja” song; somewhat ironically given what it’s about. But the best performance of it is hands down the End of an Era show.
Hey there Mrs Coach & Coach. Well done Mrs Coach on experiencing this particular song. there are always a few gems in every song, Emmpu is the treasure chest here. Gabriel will never steer you wrong. Mrs Coach has fallen badly for Nightwish. Cheers, Rich
I freaking love you two. After your debut with "Phantom of the Opera" which had me in stiches I have been totally onboard. Love you Mr and Mrs Coach make me smile every video you post.

100% concur!!!This is probably my absolute favourite song on her solo tour.Just to make sure you get the right version: ruclips.net/video/bBG8GdyLYDk/видео.html Greetings from Germany to the coach team
They reacted to Annette's version of Slow Love Slow at the Montreaux Jazz Festival while they said she did well, Coach said he wasn't keen as Jazz isn't his thing. This is when someone replies "Yeah, but that was Anette!"... but that argument doesn't hold here since a: it's a song Anette actually did brilliantly live, and b: Coach's issue wasn't the performance. Unless Floor's is that different.
@@mardroidmk1393 Are you going to shredder my opinion? I am not beeing 64 now to get my mouth shut. Thank you for going the long road! 9 albums are a lot to listen to. This song is also the "special" one for me. I never get warm with it. I only like the guitars. The extrem opposit is -While your lips are still red (Marco song) at Wembley. My other favourites are -Weak fantasy 2015 Tampere -Dead boys poem Buenos Aires 2018 -Noise official video -Tribal 2023 live compilation
For more Marco you might try "the islander" of "kiss, while your lips are still red". Still eagerly awaiting the moment you two will tackle poet and greatest show. before greatest show you might give "shudder before the Beautifull" a go. that was the first song of the album that had greatest show as the last one. tuomas makes concept albums and the first and last song are always milestones. Shudder live in Wembley is a perfect starter before you listen to the greatest show on earth. That one will leave you speechless, especially if you understand enough about the song: it takes its title from richard Dawkins' book. He is the biologist who wrote extensively about evolution, in very lyrical terms. his books are not just dry science stuff, he almost sings about the beauty of the science. Tuomas loved his works and they collaborated on the album.
Since Mrs. Coach seems to be a very big fan of Marco Hietala, both of you might check out the song "The Gathering" performed by Delain featuring Marco live at Masters of Rock 2017. At this live concert, Marco sings this song together with Delain singer Charlotte Wessels, supporting the Band. I love their duet. To me it's a Goosebumps guarantee.
Hi greetings from Germany. I think your reactions are great, especially the ones about Nightwish (I'm a big Nightwish fan myself). But the solo projects of the Nightwish members are also highly recommended. A song that I also really like is "a lifetime of adventure" by Tuomas (his wife sings in this one). A quieter but also very brilliantly done song. Keep up the good work.....
Very warm thank You for your reaction! This has allways been one.of my favourites since the very first I heard that. Naturally it was sung by Tarja then and she sings this one very convincing too. Thank you also for notising Emppus character and humoristic way of participating in the band. I certainly will keep watching your reactions to Nightwish.
This is one of the older ones, a song from the history of Nightwish. It was kinda point of this tour to play old songs with new crew and new arrangements. Then songs also got recorded with floor singing.
Great reaction! I always thought this song was Tuomas ranting about the greed of the music business and how it gets in the way of creating art but another commenter mentioned that in the Nightwish official biography, Once Upon a Nightwish, Tuomas said he wrote the song after he was approached in a bar in Finland by a friend of Tarja's saying he was an asshole. From the book "Slaying the Dreamer is extremely heavy. I wrote the lyrics after a bar night at five a.m. I had just been told what a horrible person and an asshole I am, blah blah. The whole thing was actually really insignificant, but it hurt me like a thousand needles. Tarja's good friend came up to me in Kitee's Karhu Bar and said, "You treat Tarja so fuckin' bad - don't you understand how much she has done for your band? How dare you not give any credit to her!" Like, "Don't you ever think about what Tarja's going through", stuff like that. This person, whom I hardly even know, gave me total hell for five minutes. I have nothing against him personally, but the incident kind of triggered many traumas. I wanted to tell some people what I really think about them, and when I got back home, I wrote 'Slaying the Dreamer'. In the morning, I read the lyrics in a clearer state of mind and deleted the f-words. The result can be heard on the album" Pissing off Tuomas is never a good idea. Checkout Master Passion Greed for the ultimate dis song. Emppu does usually have a smile on his face. A couple of exceptions are Dead Boy's Poem or their live performance at Pinkpop in 2022. At the later the temperature was over 90 deg F and you can see Emppu is not his usual bubbly self. I think Floor joked about Fired Finns at one point. For Anette songs, Amaranth is probably her best although I love Meadows of Heaven and The Crow, The Dove, and The Owl. The later is heartbreakingly beautiful, especially the music video. It was created by a fan as part of a contest Nuclear Blast ran as a promotion. ruclips.net/video/iyY5QMf41dk/видео.htmlsi=h8sOH6vRvYtxWE20. This was the winner. You can also see the other finalist videos on Nuclear Blasts YT channel. Lot's of creative people out there. For live Anette I would go with Slow Love Slow at teh Montreaux Jazz Festival. That one would be a good double reaction along with Floor's version from her 2021 solo concert in Amsterdam.
Good reaction. Always loved this one. Very different from their usual songs and style. Great guitar playing from Empu. Got this concert on Blu-ray. Thanks for this reaction.
Thanks for sharing your reaction to a song that explores themes of betrayal, disillusionment, and the destructive nature of greed and jealousy. The lyrics depict a person (most likely Tuomas himself) as a sacrificial priest, someone who offers himself and his talents for the benefit of others. However, he feels unnoticed and taken advantage of by those around him. The chorus, "Put a stake through my heart! And drag me into sunlight. So awake for your greed. As you're slaying the dreamer," conveys the feeling of being metaphorically stabbed in the heart and exposed to the harsh reality of the world. It represents the pain caused by someone's selfish actions, as they take advantage of the dreamer's vulnerability and aspirations. The second verse introduces the concept of a "primrose path to hell," symbolizing a tempting and attractive but ultimately destructive journey. It suggests that the pursuit of personal gain and material wealth can lead to a negative and harmful outcome. In the following lines, the singer expresses feelings of blame, insignificance, and being used as a scapegoat while being a naive dreamer, whose romantic ideals only exist on paper and are not reflected in reality. The bridge sections contain a sense of bitterness and anger towards the individuals who have manipulated and betrayed the dreamer. The second bridge specifically highlights how the dreamer's artistic expression has been violated and misused by others for their own gain, leaving the dreamer feeling stripped of his identity and creativity. The song concludes with an outburst of frustration and resentment, as the dreamer proclaims his hatred towards those who have caused him pain and expresses exhaustion. The line "The Great Ones are all dead" suggests a disillusionment with the world and a loss of faith in people and their motives. Overall, "Slaying the Dreamer" delves into the emotions experienced by someone who feels used, betrayed, and undervalued. It emphasizes the destructive consequences of greed, jealousy, and manipulation, while capturing the pain of having one's dreams and talents exploited by others. P.S. This is a great song by Anette composed by Tuomas after having witnessed the last words his grandfather said to his wife at a hospital before he died: Nightwish - Turn Loose The Mermaids (With Lyrics).
Three wows from Mrs Coach--you know it's good. The opening reminded me more of Judas Priest. This song definitely sticks with you. As for another song fronted by Anette, consider Amaranth (Official Music Video). Floor does an awesome live version of this song also.
I recommended this song on your “Sahara” reaction, so I’ll take credit for this video. I’m not the biggest fan of saying X sounds like Y, but the guitar riff in this song has always reminded me of something from the George Lynch era of Dokken or the Jake E. Lee era of Ozzy Osbourne. It’s fun to play along with and is one of the first NW songs I learned on guitar.
Great reaction. 🤘🤘 I love the Buenos Aires 2018 setlist, because they played so many songs of the early years of the band. So many underrated songs there, for example "Carpenter" sang by Troy, with Floor doing the backing vocals. A quiet song. Song for Annette must be "Bye Bye Beautiful". Official video with over 150 million views. ruclips.net/video/hTdhXxxWREo/видео.html
Have to admit that Bye Bye Beautiful is one of my least favorite Nightwish songs. Not sure why. It is well written and catchy as heck but it just doesn't work for me. Song is part of the Tarja break up trilogy along with Poet and the Pendulum and Master Passion Greed and specifically about Tarja. Floor is good friends with Tarja and supposedly has said she would never sing Bye Bye Beautiful although since Tuomas won't play Master Passion Greed (it's about Tarja's husband) because it is to personal I don't think he would ever do Bye Bye Beautiful live either. If Coach want's heavy Nightwish then you can't get heavier then Master Passion Greed!
@@rnowak85 Fair point, however it is great song and great video. How about just to enjoy the song and not to think about things which did happen almost 20 years ago? Everyone moved on and got a great career til to date.
@@celtbhoy Whether I enjoy the song or not is not driven by what happened 20 years ago but by how the song makes me feel. You think it is great song. I don't. Art is like that. It is very subjective and one person's masterpiece is another persons meh. For me Bye Bye Beautiful is meh. I think we will have to agree to disagree.
In Dutch, mondegreens (misheard lyrics) are referred to as 'mama appelsap' after in 1982 a listener mentioned that when trying to request the Michael Jackson song Wanna Be Starting Something. Appelsap is Dutch for Apple Juice. That became a recurrent radio theme with many fun examples :-) en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mondegreen
For me, the most fun song featuring Anette, is Scaretale by NataWorkStudio channel since it blends music video with live performance and has perfect sound. Other Anette songs are Meadows of Heaven lyric video and The Crow, The Owl and The Dove (OFFICIAL FAN VIDEO). All three are completely different from any other Nightwish songs.
This show was 2 hours 11 mins and we're near the end here, over 90 mins in. The vocal gymnastics by both Marco and Floor at this stage are phenomenal, particularly the rapid triplets Floor ends with You aren't off the beaten path - I often recommend this one and pretty sure I've mentioned it in your comments before. Edit: here's something for you. You like Floors version, this one is different not just because it's Annette, but there are changes to some of the passages too You get to see Annette mopping Tuomas' brow as well. ruclips.net/video/o3j0X69eeH4/видео.htmlsi=2_b_vzRN2Wnczl-B And you may like Emppu in this rarely reacted-to song.. ruclips.net/video/c7ALbzAdH_Y/видео.htmlsi=snb-_GujJNZA-AV1 A rare example of Tuomas' writing a hate song. There is a misheard lyrics video of Wish master with Tarja. I find UK comedians are usually funnier than Americans, though there are exceptions : RIP Bob Newhart.
This is one of my favorite Nightwish songs. Emppu just nails it, which isn't surprising, the man can play anything. If you want to hear more from Annette, you're best off with music videos. She's much better there than live. Mrs. Coach, I think you would like Amaranthe, the official music video. And, for Mr. Coach, give a listen to Bye Bye Beautiful, the official music video. And, don't worry when that one first starts, you do have the correct video.
You absolutely should do the official Amaranth Video, to me it's even better than Floors Wacken-Version, and that means a lot, me being nightwish fan since sleeping sun was realeased back in the days 😂🤘😇
Coach - This particular Buenos Aires concert was fantastic. Tuomas picked the songs for this “Decades” tour that represented the timeline of the band from start to present. So many bangers that you will love if you stay the course with this concert. Another overlooked gem is Sacrament Of Wilderness” along with others like “10th Man Down” Mrs Coach will love the beautiful “Dead Boys Poem” - But Coach if you want to stay with the heavy high tempo guitars, and fast drumming, react to Sacrament of Wilderness……
Powerful stuff . Did you notice, how Thomas hammered his instrument with a fist...hot damn 🤘😎🤘!!!! Tuomas, Nightwish's songwriter, wrote this one night in a fit of rage, and had to edit it later on to get rid of all the profanity. It's an angry song directed toward the greed of mankind, and their stupidity. Floor is able to handle both the Operatic songs from the Tarja era and the more pop style of Annette, so that the band was able to have great live concerts doing a "Decades" (curret video) tour with so much of their older music mixed between the different eras pre Floor. Also I think everyone wants "Live" Nightwish because the live shows were with Floor before Tuomas was able to write new music for the Floor era. This song was from the Tarja era and Tarja did a great job with it as it was written for her style, but it's great that Floor can also cover this music from the early days of Nightwish. NWSU/FloorFan/Epican/Ayreonaut/TWA 🤘😎🤘
Nightwish has a sound for every ear! and that's the beautiful thing... I've been a fan since 2004 and I think that people generally make good lists for reactors, but they tend to be guided by those longer and more surprising songs, and that can be overwhelming many times, because they are presenting you a band with too many sounds, too many arrangements, and a lot of depth in their lyrics, and perhaps a song with a more contemporary sound may be a better option for those new to nightwish...I will give a simple example that would captivate anyone without introducing its masterpieces...(which of course everyone has to get there at some point) -Romanticide -Storytime -ghost river -Amaranth -ever dream -Shy is my sin -The phantom of the opera... etc
This one is all about Tuomas' anger at the music business and criticism towards his music. Tuomas is the Dreamer being slayed by the greed of the industry. Thus the final screams of frustration. Here are a couple good ones with Annette. There are only a few live quality performances. Also a couple great music videos. Emppu can be serious as well. Depending on the song. Check out "Dead boy's poem": Which is a masterpiece and may get you emotional. On Gabriel's list as well. ruclips.net/video/S8E3L7ggLMM/видео.html
We were not kidding when we said every song different Ive found every album packed with no "I'm gonna always skip this song track" for me. Even my beloved bands form 70 80's didn't have an album where I would hit the ff or skip somewhere. I was gifted a cd in 2005. Nothing has come close to this band for me. On another note. Did you see Majestica has dropped a new video. "A new beginning" if you are not familiar Tommy Johansson is lead singer, he was formerly lead guitar in Sabaton. Connection: Sabaton drummer is Floor's husband.
About a songwriters feelings when their work is harshly criticized. A Tarja era song, from the 4th album, 2002's Century Child, first album recorded with Marko. Emppu co-wrote the music with Tuomas. We told you all their songs are different. LOL . Since Mrs. Coach wants to hear it again, check out the version with Tarja, from Helsinki 2005 (End of an Era). Mischievous is fairly apt, Emppu is the band jokester. LOL. Another video with Anette? I would recommend the music video for "Amaranth".
Hm, I've nearly caught up on your Nightwish reactions now and yet to see Greatest Show on Earth or The Islander, meaning I still have more to look forward to :D Someone must have mentioned this by now but I'll risk it anyway. Floor is married to the drummer of another metalband from Sweden, Sabaton. And much like Nightwish they have an insanely loyal fanbase and an insane music catalog to listen through. Their "schtick" is powermetal, which sounds more aggressive than it is, but their lyrics are important as each song is a story about a historical moment of war, not typically known to the wider world. Like the story of the 2nd largest battleship in the 2nd World War, Bismarck - baptized by the grandchild of Otto von Bismarck, which was sunk on its maiden voyage. Or the story of Attack of the Dead Men, a battle during WW1 over a fortress in what is now Poland, between German and Russian troops, where the dead men in question where soldier poisoned by gas so lethal it made them cough blood, but determined to make their death worth somethign so they charged as "dead" men, instilling fear into the defending troops and securing the victory in that battle. Sabaton has its own secondary channel where they tell the story of each song in detail. I'm not even a history buff, but listening to their songs teaches me about so many important but unheard of moments in history. Floor is also featured on a track of theirs called Christmas Truce. I honestly can't recommend them enough. Sabaton define themselves as power metal, but none of their songs are "heavier" than anything you've heard from Nightwish so far. If anything I'd say that apart from the symphonic aspect, they have very similar sounds.
@@CoachCastTV Looking forward to it! :D And just to make sure, as a "first time" video if or when you get into them, I suggest Bismarck, Christmas Truce or The Last Stand. If you don't mind a song in their native language but with a serious emotional punch, the live version of "En Livstid i Krig" - A lifetime of war.
Anette is more of a studio singer than live. I would suggest the music video “Bye Bye Beautiful”. Marko has a huge singing part in the song. Emppu is wearing high heels! 😄🤘 ruclips.net/video/hTdhXxxWREo/видео.html
Nope, you definitely did not go rogue. This is one of the gems. 🤔 But, then again, all Nightwish's songs are gems. They don't have any pee songs. Those are the songs a band puts near the middle of a concert so you have time to walk back to the men's room or ladies' room to pee because you don't mind missing it. None of that with NW, nope, huh-uh, nada, zip. You'll have to get one of those plastic drain bags to strap to your leg hidden under your pants or don't drink any liquids for a couple hours before the show! LOLOL!
The most interesting song by Anette is really the live version of "Scaretale" which really seems like a horror song and she screeches like a witch in it. The one with the music video just isn't quite as good. There's also Anette singing "Amaranth" at the 2008 Echo Awards (with NW of course). I don't think Anette really realized how big NW was getting, nor how rigorous touring with a relatively (at the time) big band was going to be. She got sick often, her personal life was in constant upheaval, and the band didn't really understand, since they had been doing it for years. The first thing the band noticed from Floor was that she had opened for NW a lot (with her band) and they were confident she was ready. Another thing that had plagued NW was that they wanted someone who was committed to the band and would rehearse regularly with them. The term used by Marko in an interview was that she was "professional". After hiring Floor, Tuomas said he felt that NW was finally rising from a "dark place". Floor's being hired as a vocalist for NW has drawn massive support from the start, something Floor herself made her feel "confident" as she said in an interview. Here we are over a decade later, and the band knows best what they can/can't do.
For songs with Anette I would suggest Meadows of Heaven studio version. Her live version is quite good, but the recording quality isn't great. Also, for something completely different, that very few people request: The Crow, The Owl and the Dove: the official fan video. Sung by Anette, Marko and Troy. That is one of the few songs whose melody was written by Marko. More poppy than their usual stuff, (with a bit of folk mixed in) but very sweet. I warn you, it's very sad though. While the video is a fan creation, they did it as part of a competition judged by Nightwish and the record company so its official.
Usually NW plays little bit heavier setlist when they tour South American countries, they do like heavier stuff I've noticed. In Finland, and even USA legs they play much more there never stuff and established hit's.
Coach, have you heard the news? YG himself released a video stating that BLACKPINK will comeback in 2025 with new music and do a new world tour! Also, 2NE1 (an old YG girl group) will comeback after years with new music and tour. Same goes for BABYMONSTER!
If you want to try a completely different side of Nightwish with Anette, you could have a shot at either Eva or Meadows of Heaven (studio version or lyric video is probably best way to go) - don't think Floor has sung either of those live. That's a softer side of Nightwish that you may not be your thing but it shows another facet of the band.
Anette in my opinion sings many of Nightwish ballads best, she did sing jazz before she joined Nightwish.Meadows of Heaven with her and ofcourse Scaretale with Marko and Anette.
thanks to great reaction like always and have wonderful new week. you asking anette nightwish era song. check out meadows of heaven - nightwish and studio version coz that version have usa gospel singers sing also link. lyric video ruclips.net/video/vxsjv6LtRz0/видео.html&ab_channel=GondaHuisman this is my favorite nightwish song. all the live versions not have gospel singers and thats not good ;)
This is one of the best songs we've heard from them. Your definition of a b-list song is not ours. Plus, we plan on reacting to this band for a long time, so we need to hit all their songs we can. We're not going just for the popular reaction songs, and many in the fanbase appreciate that if you read the comments.
One of the best things about Nightwish is, no two songs are even close to being alike. Emmpu killin' it but Marko and his bass making the walls and roof pulsate. That dude's a thumper. Only way to get through a move is to keep putting one foot in front of the other until it's done. Try to get through it best you can and know better days are right around the corner for you guys.

Absolutely. Those two songs are both truly beautiful and show more of the range Nightwish has. I'd be surprised if Mrs Coach wouldn't at least like them.
That's very interesting. Thanks for telling us that.
One of my favorites.
For anette, I recommend the owl the crow and the dove. Not sure if there is any good live recording, but it is one of her best songs with them.
Yes, Nightwish goes in all directions, they keep surprising you🙃 Nice reaction, thanks👍
Thank you too!
With Floor he can write everything he wants, she can do it all
Next? Slayning the Dreamer End Of An Era Helsinki Finland consert by Tarja Turunen & Marko Hietala.
I don't think anyone's mentioned this here yet but "Scaretale" (Official Live) is a really good one with Annette and Marko.
Thanks for that!
I concur
Save 'Scaretale' for until halloween season😊
Dramatic! Not my usual style, but I really enjoyed that!
This is originally Tarjas (and Marcos) song. You might also like to watch a nice version with Tarja in End of an Era dvd.🔥😍
Thanks for this.
Thanks so much!
Thank you...we are glad to have you along!
This hits pretty hard. Love the guitar tone! I thought Mrs Coach might break out into a windmill at any moment.
🤣
Emppu has all his characteristic traits here, the prevalent pinch harmonics and and using the whammy bar. A NW classic with new life breathed into it.
Thanks so much for this information. We did do the Slow Love Slow with Annette that you mentioned.
Good reaction. Always loved this one. Very different from their usual songs and style. Great guitar playing from Empu. Got this concert on Blu-ray. Thanks for this reaction.
Thanks for watching!
Anette sings an awesome Poet and the Pendulum
Thanks once again! Next 10tm man down (Buenos Aires) or Weak Fantasy (Tampere)!
Great reaction to a great song 🤟🇸🇪
Great information on the song's meaning. Thanks for sharing this with us and all who read the comments. It certainly was a fantastic song.
Three wows from Mrs Coach--you know it's good. The opening reminded me more of Judas Priest. This song definitely sticks with you. As for another song fronted by Anette, consider Amaranth (Official Music Video). Floor does an awesome live version of this song also.
According to Wikipedia, Emppu is a co-composer of this song. Perhaps the guitar riff is his :-).
Thanks
I concur!
Well, great suggestion. We truly appreciate it! 😁
Great reaction. 🤘🤘
I love the Buenos Aires 2018 setlist, because they played so many songs of the early years of the band.
Cool, thanks!
@@rnowak85
Fair point, however it is great song and great video.
Try the LOWLANDS 2005 version - Marko's screaming intro is unbelievable + Tarja's voice later... 😍🤩😍
Thanks for that suggestion!
Hey team ‼️headbanger special 💥 I bop my head, but without any hair, I look a little bit silly🤣not the same affect like the guy on the guitar
LOL...no doubt! But headbanging is for everyone.
Very cool. Thanks for sharing!
Appreciate this information.
This show was 2 hours 11 mins and we're near the end here, over 90 mins in.
The vocal gymnastics by both Marco and Floor at this stage are phenomenal, particularly the rapid triplets Floor ends with
You aren't off the beaten path - I often recommend this one and pretty sure I've mentioned it in your comments before.
Edit: here's something for you.
You like Floors version, this one is different not just because it's Annette, but there are changes to some of the passages too
You get to see Annette mopping Tuomas' brow as well.
ruclips.net/video/o3j0X69eeH4/видео.htmlsi=2_b_vzRN2Wnczl-B
And you may like Emppu in this rarely reacted-to song..
ruclips.net/video/c7ALbzAdH_Y/видео.htmlsi=snb-_GujJNZA-AV1
A rare example of Tuomas' writing a hate song.
There is a misheard lyrics video of Wish master with Tarja.
I find UK comedians are usually funnier than Americans, though there are exceptions : RIP Bob Newhart.
Thanks for this informative comment and links.
This was the band criticizing the label. This is an older NW song from Tarja's era. Somehow Floor drives it home.
Thanks for that info. We'll try to get another from her in soon.
Another overlooked gem is Sacrament Of Wilderness” along with others like “10th Man Down”
Mrs Coach will love the beautiful “Dead Boys Poem” - But Coach if you want to stay with the heavy high tempo guitars, and fast drumming, react to Sacrament of Wilderness……
Good info. Thanks for the great comment.
@@CoachCastTV oh - forgot to add “Devil and the deep dark Ocean” monster drums on that!
I've been a fan since 2004 and I think that people generally make good lists for reactors, but they tend to be guided by those longer and more surprising songs, and that can be overwhelming many times, because they are presenting you a band with too many sounds, too many arrangements, and a lot of depth in their lyrics, and perhaps a song with a more contemporary sound may be a better option for those new to nightwish...I will give a simple example that would captivate anyone without introducing its masterpieces...(which of course everyone has to get there at some point)
-Romanticide
-Storytime
-ghost river
-Amaranth
-ever dream
-Shy is my sin
-The phantom of the opera... etc
From the ones we've heard, that is a very good list.
You gotta check the misheard lyrics for the nightwish song "wishmaster"!! There's a hilarious RUclips video
Yeah, someone sent that to us when we reacted to the song. It's fantastic.
This one is all about Tuomas' anger at the music business and criticism towards his music. Tuomas is the Dreamer being slayed by the greed of the industry. Thus the final screams of frustration.
Here are a couple good ones with Annette. There are only a few live quality performances. Also a couple great music videos.
This is shot at a rehearsal studio in LA prior to starting the 2012 US tour.
ruclips.net/video/-XNeU88p8Zg/видео.html - NIGHTWISH - Planet Hell (OFFICIAL LIVE)

There is a misheard lyrics video for Nightwish Wishmaster. It's uncanny with the accents.
We saw that...it's fantastic.
Imo the best non Floor sung song goes to Bye Bye Beautiful from Anette so do they're official video
Some songs from Tarja era sound better with Floor. This is NOT one of them. Good reaction anyway as always
We are not familiar with that group...yet. 😃
🤩👍💥💯🎼
🤘😎💙🎶
About a songwriters feelings when their work is harshly criticized. A Tarja era song, from the 4th album, 2002's Century Child, first album recorded with Marko. Emppu co-wrote the music with Tuomas. We told you all their songs are different. LOL . Since Mrs. Coach wants to hear it again, check out the version with Tarja, from Helsinki 2005 (End of an Era). Mischievous is fairly apt, Emppu is the band jokester. LOL.
Another video with Anette? I would recommend the music video for "Amaranth".
Thank you for this info and suggestion!
Hm, I've nearly caught up on your Nightwish reactions now and yet to see Greatest Show on Earth or The Islander, meaning I still have more to look forward to :D
Someone must have mentioned this by now but I'll risk it anyway.
This is great info. We appreciate you sharing such detail with us. We will keep them in mind. And yes, much more Nightwish to come. 😁
@@CoachCastTV Looking forward to it! :D
And just to make sure, as a "first time" video if or when you get into them, I suggest Bismarck, Christmas Truce or The Last Stand.
If you don't mind a song in their native language but with a serious emotional punch, the live version of "En Livstid i Krig" - A lifetime of war.
@@jarlhenrik Thank you so much!
Anette is more of a studio singer than live. I would suggest the music video “Bye Bye Beautiful”. Marko has a huge singing part in the song. Emppu is wearing high heels! 😄🤘 ruclips.net/video/hTdhXxxWREo/видео.html
😁
Nope, you definitely did not go rogue. This is one of the gems. 🤔 But, then again, all Nightwish's songs are gems. They don't have any pee songs. Those are the songs a band puts near the middle of a concert so you have time to walk back to the men's room or ladies' room to pee because you don't mind missing it. None of that with NW, nope, huh-uh, nada, zip. You'll have to get one of those plastic drain bags to strap to your leg hidden under your pants or don't drink any liquids for a couple hours before the show! LOLOL!
LOL!
That's great. Floor is definitely a great fit. "Scaretale" sounds like a good one for October/Halloween. LOL
Good info. Thank you!
Usually NW plays little bit heavier setlist when they tour South American countries, they do like heavier stuff I've noticed.
In Finland, and even USA legs they play much more there never stuff and established hit's.
Interesting. Coach must fit into South American demographics, then. 😁
More like Slayer!!!!
Coach, have you heard the news? YG himself released a video stating that BLACKPINK will comeback in 2025 with new music and do a new world tour! Also, 2NE1 (an old YG girl group) will comeback after years with new music and tour. Same goes for BABYMONSTER!
That's great. Haven't seen that yet. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you.
Anette in my opinion sings many of Nightwish ballads best, she did sing jazz before she joined Nightwish.Meadows of Heaven with her and ofcourse Scaretale with Marko and Anette.
You show me a bad nightwish song and I'll show you grumpy Coach 😅
LOL...Mrs. Coach says Grumpy Coach does exist, though.
Oh that poor lady lol
@@edwardschwind4986 🤣
ok.. .when "Poet and the pendulum" ?
Probably after our move in a few weeks.
Tuomas was a little p*asked when he wrote this song. He actually had to back off the lyrics a bit.🤘🎸
thanks to great reaction like always and have wonderful new week. you asking anette nightwish era song. check out meadows of heaven - nightwish and studio version coz that version have usa gospel singers sing also link. lyric video ruclips.net/video/vxsjv6LtRz0/видео.html&ab_channel=GondaHuisman this is my favorite nightwish song. all the live versions not have gospel singers and thats not good ;)
Thank you for this one.

Still doing b-list songs. Why?
This is one of the best songs we've heard from them. Your definition of a b-list song is not ours. Plus, we plan on reacting to this band for a long time, so we need to hit all their songs we can. We're not going just for the popular reaction songs, and many in the fanbase appreciate that if you read the comments.
Still typing BS. Why?
One of the best things about Nightwish is, no two songs are even close to being alike. Emmpu killin' it but Marko and his bass making the walls and roof pulsate. That dude's a thumper. Only way to get through a move is to keep putting one foot in front of the other until it's done. Try to get through it best you can and know better days are right around the corner for you guys.
Thanks very much. It's been tiring but we're making progress.
