Pulsar Thermion 2 LRF XG50 Thermal Rifle Scope Review & User Impressions

  • This is my user impressions and review on the Pulsar Thermion 2 LRF XG50 Thermal Rifle Scope. I've had this device from Pulsar in real hunting usage conditions, multiple times a week for a few months so far. It's an amazing thermal scope and well worth considering if you're in the market.
    This isn't a "how to" video with boring unboxing and basic menu function explanations. This is my handle on the new XG50 as a shooter and user with a huge amount of thermal footage with animal species and distances for you to view.
    Big thanks Pulsar in Europe and Extravision in Australia for sending me the new Thermion 2 LRF XG50 to play with. Without support from companies who are proactive in the hunting industry like this, these video's are mostly not possible with the speed tech is evolving.
    If you are interested in a thermal or night vision device in Australia, have a chat with Ben from Hunt the Night.

    While I'm familiar with some modern military systems, the systems coming out now in the civilian market are pretty bloody good. Compared to what we were using back-in-the-day, when I was shooting a bit, these things are pure science-fiction.
    I remember in the 80s one of my mates got his hands on a set of ex-Soviet NVGs. They were a monocle system and ate batteries alive. 25 minutes tops out of the batteries before you had to put new ones in. They weighed a ton and you couldn't wear them for long or you got a sore neck. 2 hours battery life? What a dream!

      Thanks mate, fortunately there's no real practical application in a hunting sense to use a thermal scope at that range. It's passive, just go closer 😁 That's the beauty in it all.

    • @thehammer223
      @thehammer223 10 месяцев назад

      For a hunting situation, you are correct. I was just wondering in the case of serious problems where defense was needed, how far would it hold up before you couldn't identify your target? An example, an animal is messing with your livestock, you might not have time to get closer, and need to end the threat immediately.
