Wonderful tribute from Mark hamill and Billie her daughter
Mark is still in disbelief that shes gone, hes shaking, stumbling, just still in shock.... Proud of him for being here for this magical moment for our princess
Carrie was family to Mark, his little sister in real life.I know Carrie wouldve definitely been there for Mark's star too!
Gimme a break 😂
and here I was thinking he'd been relegated to a mere *voice actor*
Yes like he doesn't believe it!
Carrie would be VERY proud of Billie… well spoken, funny and strong AF!
And she looks just like her. There has to be a role for her in the Star Wars franchise.
@@RoyalMasterpiece she was in the sequel trilogy
I wish Disney would cast her in some of the Star Wars TV shows --- she is the daughter of a princess!
Should've used her in Rogue One instead of a CGI of Leia. Props to Billie for discluding Carrie's siblings who tried to capitalize on her mother's death.
Did not know Billie Lourd is Carrie Fisher's daughter! That's amazing! 🙂
Mark Hamill's speech was simple, short, and heartfelt. 💖 Billie Lourd's speech was everything, and more. 💖
Where are you from ?
I went to the star installation thinking since it was raining, not many people would be there, but there was a huge crowd. Lots of enthusiasm & cheering. Nice to see. I always attended Carrie' s stage performances here & the last time I saw her was at her mother's movie costumes & other movie memorabilia in Beverly Hills years ago. Of course I'll go see the star & take a pic after the crowd is gone. Very happy to see the large crowd & love for Carrie Fisher. Rest in Peace, Princess
So appropriate for the 4TH OF MAY! Love Mark lighting up with a smile when R2 speaks!
Billie must be an incredibly strong person with everything she has been through.
That was so hard for Mark not to get choked up. You can see him trying to decompress after he sat down. He really loved Carrie.
I thought it was disrespectful that Harrison Ford and George Lucas didn't show up
@@kerzytibok3211 Especially Harrison. I thought that the trio had stayed in touch over the years.
@@VAwitch Mark and Carrie did. Harrison, not so much. Maybe it was awkward, given the affair he had with Carrie when she was 19.
I understand why Harrison was not at this event. I’m sure he was at Carrie’s funeral and that matters more. George and Harrison love and miss Carrie but not as much as Mark does. He was not going to miss this event no matter what.
He was there for Carrie and Billie who is his space niece. I think the close relationship he has with her is very sweet.
@@kerzytibok3211 I never understood them. They want nothing to do with Star Wars. Probably the biggest thing either of them has or will ever do. It is disrespectful to the entire Star Wars community.
Mark's speech brought tears to my eyes. RIP Carrie Fisher.
I was the same age as Carrie when I saw her on the screen in 1977. She was a hero to me after seeing Star Wars for that first time. She made me realize that it wasn’t wrong to be a badass even for a woman. I was a fan over the decades. When the scene where Princess Leia passes, I was so heartbroken since we all knew our princess was actually gone in real life. Thank you Carrie for being you❤️
I can't believe she didn't get one while she was alive! But I'm glad she finally got Her Star⭐
She comment on an interview, she didn’t want to pay for one and to maintain it. It cost $75k. Usually production of the movie would pay for it or the actor and actress themselves but sometimes they won’t get it bc there this special interview process.
Not me bawling at Billie's speech!!! Loved the whole thing! Happy Carrie Fisher Day, we love you Space Mom!!! May the force be with you ALWAYS!!!
*Bawling
@@vegancam 😅 thx.
Billie carries herself so well, what a wonderful person.
It’s so fitting that Mark was there. They clearly loved each other, and in 2018 Billie was there supporting her Space uncle (Mark) when he received his STAR. 💔 Excellent speeches , Carrie was loved by so many
I thought it was disrespectful that Harrison Ford and George Lucas didn't show up
@@kerzytibok3211 especially since they both showed up for Mark’s Star in 2018 (but probably also to help promote the sequel movies) But in 2003, I don’t see Mark, Carrie, or George at Harrison’s Star ceremony. Just Steven Spielberg
It is too bad that Carrie isn't alive to see that. Billie's speech was very touching. She's sweet. I didn't know she has kids! Mark looks great. Congratulations, Carrie.
I can't believe that her daughter calls mark her space uncle and I grew up with her mom Carrie and I miss her so much and Mark and Billie's speeches were awesome
What a beautiful ceremony. Thank you. Carrie Fisher, forever our princess and a brilliant writer.
The ceremony was so beautiful. Carrie certainly deserves this honor. Mark spoke so beautifully about her, as well as Billie. I agree with Billie that there should be a writing emblem on the star with the film emblem. Carrie was a terrific writer as well as a fantastic actress. Princess Leia will live on always for generations to come. I still miss Carrie so much, I love her so much. Now, every May the 4th will belong to Carrie along with Star Wars. Sending Love to Mark, Billie, C-3PO, and R2D2. I'm gonna picture Carrie taking Gary for a walk along the walk of fame and stopping by her star.
If you have daughters, and they want to be a princess, there's only one to have them strive to be and it's Leia. Disney inherited the best example of what a strong female lead can be, and it wasn't forced or contribed.
Carrie was a great woman and went through a lot. Her acting was great, but her writing was phenomenal. There will never be another. The world is missing her these days.
I grew up on Star wars, the 1st coming out right before I turned 5. She is the princess of my generation (gen x) to grow up and admire. She is the best princess ever!
I would love to hear what Carrie would say about the writers strike? I bet you she would be right out there on the picket line. She reminds me of Lisa marie Presley. Talent exceeding. 'Delusions of grandma', we are all entitled to Carries opinion😅 Godspeed Carrie and Elvis and Lisa marie and John Travolta
Yet, if it was Disney's choice, they would change her.
And the sad part is, they don't even realize it. Even Jyn Erso, yet they tried to force Rey down our throats smh.
@@Constitutionalist76 After years of seeing stuff that didn't make sense to me. I have come to the conclusion that feminism and the "Feminist Agenda" are 2 different things. Disney is interested in the latter, mostly pandering and optics. They don't actually care about role models and peoples children. At all.
It was great to see the droids, Space Uncle Mark, and Billie. RIP Princess.
Beautiful words from Mark Hamill. When they declared May the 4th Carrie Fisher day in Hollywood... wow. That got me! 😭
On May the 4th no less. This is the way. RIP to the princess
She captivated me from the beginning as a small boy right up until the day she became one with The Force and still to this very day! I met and married my wife 20 years ago, hardly surprising that she has the same ballsy attitude as my Princess, no fear, no filter and not a single F given, continue to soar Carrie ❤
I wish we could have seen Carrie receive the honor when she and her mother were still alive to enjoy it. She's finally on the Walk of Fame with her mom, dad, and stepmother. Imagine all the witty irreverent hilarious material she would have drawn from it; her speech would have been glorious! Carrie Fisher, now officially and literally a Hollywood icon ❤
Grew up watching Star wars with my Dad. Named my childhood cat Leia. I love her so much. Then when I grew up and saw interviews of Carrie Fisher I fell even more in love. Her openness about mental health helped me learn to not be ashamed of myself.
Carrie opened up to Harrison Ford. When she was 19.
I loved Billie's speech. ❤❤❤
they are the true "chosen one" twins, the bond is very solid from Mark, Carrie, and now Billie. May The Force Be With Them, Always 🌟
I didn't expect it but her death hit me so hard. Legend. 🤴
My true childhood man, Mark, Carrie.. jeesh. Rip princess! MH is an inspiration and legendary! Billie's dress is amazing! 🎉
Maaan, Mark looks great.
Beautiful speech from a loving daughter
The best movie princess ever. RIP Carrie. ❤️
My mother's twin sister died just about a year before Carrie did. Hearing Mark talk about her always reminds me of the way Mom still talks about her sister.
Billie was simply fantastic: grace and beauty defined.BRAVO young lady
i’m watching this in public and trying not to bawl, tears are escaping tho 😭🥺❤️
billie always honors her mother so beautifully every time.
I'm so glad Billie highlighted the fact that she wasn't JUST that actress from Star Wars. Jesus... She did SO much more than just that! She was an excellent stand up, telling crazy stories about the infamous Debbie, Liz Taylor, Mike Todd drama with a level of wit and humour that was unmatched. When I think about her, my first thought isn't just Princess Leia, she was FAR more than just that character that nerdy fans are obsessed with. Rest in Peace CARRIE FISHER, we love you.
While I get that, that IS the reason she is as famous as she was. There is no denying that role and those "nerdy fans" put her where she was. You shouldn't look down on people like that
@@ImmortalDraylo I'm not looking down on them, I'm just laughing at them lol. But in all seriousness, it is what made her famous but I just think she has shown more of her talents in the work she did outside of the star wars universe.
@@DamienHurts Why are you laughing at them? Star Wars is modern mythology. If Disney hadn't been completely incompetent with the sequels, we'd be honoring her wonderful and memorable roles in the sequels as well. Yes, she did more complex characters in more sophisticated movies. But, is she loved and adored for those roles by the masses? 🐸
@@deadtoadsoup I'm not part of the 'masses', for this and many many other reasons. It's just my personal opinion. Her character wasn't very fleshed out or nuanced, and I think crazy fans of any franchise are irritating and cringe. Sorry not sorry
I think it's just because it was a Hollywood star. Though I am surprised Billie didn't really mention that she adapted her own novel into a screenplay, because that's relevant. From her interviews, I get the impression that Carrie much preferred writing to acting, and being a mental health advocate was as important as anything else. But Carrie also acknowledged that she couldn't escape Leia, and Leia wasn't such a bad thing to be stuck with, all things considered.
Tears in my eyes. I love Carrie.
Her mother should be proud. Billie Lourd was fantastic in Scream Queens and Booksmart.
I hope she will continue acting like her beloved mum.
So beautiful. I can’t stop crying. I lost my mom to Covid in 2021. This hit me deep rn. What a privilege to honor her mother this way ❤
My condolences to you and your family.
What touching tributes from all 6 speakers, Billie and Mark especially. May the Force be with them.
I had the good fortune of being able to attend the Carrie Fisher Tribute at Star Wars Celebration's
40th Anniversary panel in Orlando in 2017, where George Lucas and Billie Lourd gave very moving
and touching speeches, and John Williams performed Princess Leia's theme with the Orlando Philharmonic... I also attended Mark Hamill's panel as well, where he spoke fondly about Carrie...
Both were very moving events... There wasn't a dry eye in the house... I will never forget it...
this Walk of Fame ceremony bought back all of those bitter-sweet memories...
This event was just as touching!
It's about time that this "Star Wars Star" got a "Hollywood Walk of Fame Star"...
Well deserved!
I also had the good fortune to see Carrie on stage at SW Celebration in 2012... She was HILARIOUS!
One of the happiest moments of my life as a Star Wars fan...
We miss you, Carrie... I'd jump into a trash compactor with you anytime...
You have been my Princess since 1977... You will be our Princess forever...
May the Force be with you... Always.
Now, please be a good "Force Ghost", find a log, and have a good "sit-down chat" with your daughter!
Remember when Carrie once said to that "contemptible pig", Jake Blues...
"You betrayed me! So, for me... For my mother, my grandmother, my father, my uncle, and for the common good... I must now kill you and your brother."
Let's hope that this movie dialogue doesn't extend to Billie's feelings about Joely, Tricia, and Todd!
All joking aside... I don't know who's right and who's wrong... but it's time to heal these old wounds...
I don't think that Carrie or Debbie would have wanted this... And besides... It's not the Jedi way!

Carrie's bad-assery was undeniably present in Princess Leia!
R.I.P. We miss you

May the 4th be with you r.I.p Carrie hope your having an amazing day up there
Thanks for this raw and uncut version. She was beautiful from the first time I saw her on screen until the the last time I saw her on screen. Thanks for existing within the same 100 years as me.
Carrie France Fisher will forever be our space princess
This was so beautiful! Carrie Fisher was a Superhero in the movies as well as in real life. RIP Queen. Mark Hamilton and Carrie Fisher's daughter Billie Lourd did great@ this celebration.

Should of get one when she was alive
I’m so happy for Carrie! And to have this on Star Wars day! This was perfect! We miss u everyday!
Beautiful tribute to a beautiful and talented woman. She will always be missed.
Thank you Variety for uploading this in its entirety. Love and miss you Carrie
This is somber and a great moment honoring Carrie Fisher , ,thank you sooo much Mark Hamill , you are the true torchbearer for proper StarWars ethics and spirit of story , , ,Carrie had more to bring , , , seemingly gone before her time , my deepest sympathies for Carrie and Debbie Reynolds two great sparks in the galaxy 🙏😢🙏😢
I loved it how Billie called Mark by “space uncle.” Super sweet 😭
Beautiful tribute to a great Lady. Loved her in Star Wars. She was a role model for me. I wanted to be as strong as she is/ was.
Rest well Beautiful Princess.
She’s so great . Mark is great too . Bless
Glad to have been been there when Star Wars was in the Theaters. To see Carrie Fisher earn The Hollywood Walk of Fame . FULL CIRCLE.

I met Carrie fisher at fanexpo she was a amazing woman and she was such a kind person
Such a beautiful tribute. Carrie you were one of a kind.
Love you Carrie Fisher !!!!
Honouring our Princess. Thank you for this and our thoughts and hearts are with you Billie and Mark.
I love the droids in the picture. And R2D2 “talking “
The beauty now lives in you daughter ❤ .....
sobbing crying at billie's beautiful speech.
Awesome she finally got a star. Great speeches by Billie and Mark. Never got to meet Carrie. The one year I thought I was going to meet her at R.I.C.C., she had to cancel due to a filming conflict with The Last Jedi. We will always miss you Carrie. :(
Life doesn’t make people like her anymore, she was a gem.
Carrie seemed to be a very special person. A truly incredible personality. A witty & very sharp mind. And of course absolutely beautiful inside & out. It's no wonder so many men (Mark, Harrison, Paul Simon, and anyone who got to spend like 20 minutes with her) would fall for her.
cannot believe in her memoir she couldn't believe Ford would dig her.
Thanks Variety for let us watch this!
Beautiful ceremony and great tribute that Mark Hamil and the daughter of the late actress made to Carrie Fisher. Those of us who saw the Star Wars movies and the documentaries she recorded showed us Carrie Fisher being a case. Just like her Leia character, she is honest, direct, frank and direct, she is not intimidated or bends the knee to anyone because her natural rebellion prevents her from doing so, she is tough and vulnerable to it, she knows what she wants and has the determination to achieve what she wants. that she proposes
A Legend in our Galaxy! 😎👊✊ A Long time Coming and Well Deserved! 👌 May The Force be with you!! 😊
Congratulations!!! 👍 🍁♈
RIP Carrie Fisher 😔
What a beautiful moment congrats Carrie we will always miss you 😢
Billie is SO MUCH her mom. They're both absolutely stunning. Holy shit.
Such a beautiful ceremony. Thank you to Billie for carrying on her mom's legacy of my childhood hero. 🤍
Love Billie…what a wonderful continuation of an incredible legacy of talent. ❤
I can’t believe she didn’t have a start before this.
I said the exact same thing
Billie’s speech was beautiful!

Hell yeeeeeah and she got it on may 4th? What timing. I'm so happy for her and all of us fans. Thanks you.
❤️😭👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 love you, Billie, beautifully said!!!
Mark Hamill brought a sense of connection to my lasting fondness for Carrie Fisher, here. Grateful to see him looking younger than ever, however that's possible. For Carrie, her other roles were great, however this adventurous part allowed her to work with robotics, fly, think critically, support male colleagues, and set a believable bar for "stakes," at the galactic level. Well deserved, and that it's called a "star," on that walk.💫💖
If you haven't seen it yet, he also talked about Carrie at a Star Wars Celebration panel a few years ago.
😭 this is absolutely amazing, thank you for everything
Tears and smiles. Nothing but tears and smiles.
I finally have a chance to sit and watch this... This is gonna make me cry, isn't it?
Really love Carrie Fisher! Rest in peace ! You were a queen!!!!
Loved her, so talented my fav author , miss her and her creative genius , if only she was valued and given the accolades she deserved when she was alive RIP Carrie, sending all my best wishes to Billie as well .
this was the best and saddest ceremony. I was 8 when I saw Star Wars in the theatre, my earliest movie memory. thank you for the memories
brilliant speech mark an billie xxx
It's about freaking time! Bravo 👏
May the force be with you and always ❤
I was so happy this past May 4th was declared Carrie Fisher in Hollywood lovely celebrated with a star in the walk of fame and with lovely & moving tributes by Mark Hamill and Billie Lourd. Bravo Carrie, you made it💖💖💖 You will be our princess forever ... May the Fourth be with you ... always❤
