I think they are mostly noisy creatures that seem to tip over stuff when ever they get excited; always bumbing against the walls with their wagging tails and drooling snouts. But I don't exactly despise them either or is even negatively dispositioned towards them. I like animals and respect them as an older and perhaps wiser source of knowledge about my own nature than my culture would otherwise have me think. But it's not really the dog being a dog I'm reacting to, anyway. And it was mostly my speechless shock that found it's relief in reading RyoHazuki's comment, that drove me writing it out.

God, I love Carrie Fisher. I hate, loathe and detest what Kathleen Kennedy's imposter version of Star Wars has done to OT characters. It all feels like a fever dream that I can't wake up from. Carrie's death just adds insult to injury.
They need to introduce time travel to the Star Wars universe and undo what Johnson has done. But, unfortunately, Carrie is gone. Forever. No chance of a do-over there. 😡 Rian Johnson squandered what he was wrongfully entrusted with. He didn't deserve it. He didn't earn it. He made it all about himself (instead of the fans).

Umm...did you not get the message about her ship being destroyed in the asteroid field waaaay before the Alderaan thing?

Many people don't know that she's bipolar and yet she looks like the picture of health and continues to function and be amazing and prolific. Her career and her life is an inspiration to people who struggle with mental health. That's why I think it's inappropriate and hurtful to read things like "there's something odd about her". This woman is a survivor. What's odd about her is that she's brutally honest and not fake like most celebrities you've been used to dealing with. That's because someone who struggles with depression doesn't have the time or the energy to be fake! Appreciate her as a full human being!

I think they picked the right color blade for Leia, and I think they cherry-picked from former cannon in doing so. According to those old rules, blue blades are wielded by types of Jedi called "guardians". They're the muscle, the go-get-'em, nitty-gritty fighters. That fits Leia perfectly, because of how great of a military commander and fighter she is.
She's been wearing those shades for so long I actually swooned when she took them off. I was like "OH MY GOD THAT'S CARRIE FISHER".

Silencer, I am proud to be that "orange head supporter" because Trump will make this country great again and we will have more jobs than US residents because of him. I never met Carrie Fisher, but she played a huge part in creating the man I am today. In SW A New Hope, she was my first crush.The beautiful and feisty princess made my young heart go pitter patter. In Empire Strikes Back, I learned girls like the bad boys and strived to be Han Solo like to win their affections. And with Return of the Jedi, I acquired a slight taste for BDSM after seeing her in that slave girl get up. I'm so sorry to hear of her passing. Rest in peace Carrie Fisher, and thank you.

there'd ALWAYS a plot reason for these double standards. the question is why did Luke have to be a boy in the first place

Tiaan Engelbrecht she used the dark side to kill Jabba if you think about it. He's got that super thick neck and she's a small woman. The only way she would be capable of killing him is if she used the force which she did.
Dani Flunky Cook I don't think they're saying it's a problem that Luke was a male, but that people make excuses for why Leia couldn't have a lightsaber. Especially when Luke and Leia were twins. There was no actual reason for her to not be as powerful as her brother
It's not an accident though, it's a choice by the writer and they *could* have chosen to have twin girls, or twin boys, or reversed the roles. They didn't and that happens to conform to the norms of empowerment we are used to. This isn't a problem in isolation, but pretending it isn't part of a pattern is just dishonest.
