Incredible work! The concerto transcriptions are incredibly underrated! A ‘collaboration’ between one of the two greatest melodic geniuses the world has ever had!

Ah! One of the works, J.S. Bach used in his youth to build his skill in playing the harpsichord. After all, Das Wohltemperierte Klavier did not yet exist. And Bach had to get his skill from somewhere!
The second part is, to my taste, a little bit too slow. But all of it is played in a magnificent manner. (Including the second part.) The player really knows what he (or she) is doing.
    Thanks for sharing this piece!

Bach also transcribed concerti by Vivaldi and other composers so that he could study (by playing and listening to them) how they were constructed. It's important to remember that Bach was largely self-taught, and after his first attempts at composition he realized that he needed good models to follow. Aside from Vivaldi he also transcribed works by Telemann, Prince Ernst, and anonymous sources as well.

@@tomfurgas2844 I thought Vivaldi was self-taught. I'm pretty sure Bach's father was a composer, Vivaldi, on the other hand, was just a virtuoso.

@@leonhardeuler6811 Bach probably did get some early lessons from his father, but his father died while Johann was still a boy. He did get some instruction from his older brother after their father died, but as I say, Bach was "mostly" self-taught (not completely). Vivaldi was taught by his father and later by the director of the Sovvegno dei musicisti de Santa Cecilia. To say that Vivaldi was "just" a virtuoso is putting it rather too mildly, I think.

@@tomfurgas2844 When i said Vivaldi was "just" a virtuoso i meant that he wasn't formally taught how to compose music (his father didn't compose).
Bach, to my knowledge, had an older cousin who composed.
I didn't mean to discredit Vivaldi, in fact, I find it impressive he made such masterpieces without formal training.

@@leonhardeuler6811 Now I understand a little better. Sorry to make an issue of it. But in any case, Vivaldi did indeed have formal training as I mentioned. I have to admit I cheated by looking it up in Wikipedia!

Es un concierto de los dos. Vivaldi lo escribió y Bach lo tomó como suyo.

I think the performer is a veteran, but I question her choices with this performance. It could be played grandly, or it could be played excitingly, or even cheeky/with quirkiness; but this performance is quite modest and unambitious.
