Back in the early 90s I moved to Pittsfield and was with someone who worked at Beloit there in Dalton. Christmas was so beautiful in Dalton….not so much Pittsfield. This video brings back some wonderful memories.

I was recently diagnosed with emphysema and asthma. My breathing has gotten worse every year. I cared for my Mom for 8+ years with this disease. I know what's coming and it scares me. I am so sorry you've had to deal with something so debilitating. It's difficult, but these videos do give us some good ideas, reminders, and we can still see the beauty. There's so much I wish I could say to try and be more helpful and encouraging but I myself have been struggling as well. Life is so precious but sadly it took too long for me to understand that. I spent or devoted most of my time trying to "fix" everyone or everything else that when they all passed on or left I had no clue how to accept it. You have a good attitude and I pray that you can get all the joy and happiness you should have. God Bless you and please take care.

I started watching you cuz, after a house fire.. I was forced to go live off grid here in my northern Wisconsin cabin.. built by Amish & 1/2 the size of yours but, it's just me & my dog.. I got lots to do to prepare for the fast approaching winter.. like: wood stove added, I got no refrigeration so, using large cooler & buying ice every other day-(can get costly)-& I am working on getting settled.. as I got storage unit here to put all my personal items I had in a garage like shed @ my home that burned.. (rented)-anyway, I been here one week.. it's like your woodsy place.. so, removed from civilization & ok n the most remote part of the state by Lake Superior.. nights are lonely.. no where to really go.. me & my dog been up late w/a fire pit & cooking meat meals I get every other day at local non-chain mom-&-pop grocery.that has great & affordable meat selection.
It's an experience & I'm liking it better.. kinda a shock as I had to do this w/no where else to go.. I'm closer to my remaining family now.. & they are supportive but, not really wanting a 52yr old man & his dog moving in.
I had I surance & it is yet to be paid out.. just money for moving here (5)hrs away from my old home.. I pray I get something substantial soon in a check from my insurance company for items lost in fire & it's several $10,000's of dollars worth but, try only pay on what items are worth at time of fire after depreciation & it sucks they do that.. with $25,000 of insurance I'll only probably get $7,500 bucks or, I dunno but, whatever I get I'm doing without all the "things" that had no meaning & I'm investing in my cabin adding a cottage style cabin & connecting the two.. it will be challenging & I cannot do much until money arrives.. I also, got laid-off my job one week after the fire.. many others did too at my work.. so, that really motivated me to move quickly & get here quick & set-up.. & find a job to help get settled & bring some money in.. without rent.. I should have more disposable income to invest in cabin.. I got applications to do online on my cell phone this wk-end.. it's my only internet connection
I can get water down the road at a reservoir until, November when they shut down outdoor spickets for campers on site.
I don't have any unemployment coming in yet.. & gotta get my P.O. box on Monday.. I did interview at a job already but, they been blowing me off every time I call or, stop by to get a status of where we're at & I asked if they could just gimme an answer.. even if it's "no!".. I can have closure & move on..

Yep, it's gonna be fun.. got resources for some money-(insurance, unemployment & nothing yet.. I do what's required to get the benefit & my claim was approved for fire insure.. you'd think they would understand people cannot just sit around waiting for them to pay you or, get things moving)-but, that's the new world we're living in now.. probably good idea I am out in the middle of no where so, when shtf occurs.. I'm already acclimated to roughing it while others will be in panic mode.. cuz, our world is imploding.. it's just a matter of time.
You two are very inspiring & natural.. I love it.. your giving me some peace of mind here about my dilemma-(actually, it's not a dilemma.. it's just different & I been spoiled with all the comfirts of the modern world.. oh well, hope ya can read this.. & I am an inspiration to you & others.. I dunno what stage or, when this video was taken but, whatever the case & wherever you are now, I pray you are both happy & doing well.

I'm considering it.. my buddy is kinda lonely since, we left the bustling city w/neighbors & noises everywhere.. pretty quiet here.. & it's now, dusk w/perfect night temps & weather.. clear skies to view the green comet.. it's a harbinger ya know.. of things soon changing on a massive scale.. our old lives are over.. it'll never be like it once was back in 2019 before COVID & all the chaos.. we gotta prepare to buckle up for times ah changin'

I've been thinking of buying a Solar Generator. I've seen Jackery Solar Generators from watching other channels but you talking about EcoFlow introduced me to them in a good way. I will have to think about which one to buy because most people seem to use Jackery Solar Generators.

Fun to see life in small town America. I grew up in a small town of 600 in the Midwest. Sometimes I really miss it. That old fire truck is great! Solstice has passed... you didn´t make the construction deadline. Try to enjoy more... the world won´t end if you aren´t done. Your health is your only wealth... it is ok to be in bed sick, your body is trying to tell you to take a break!!!! You crack me up with all those cars. I was very sad to hear that your neighbors aren´t welcoming to you and that you feel the need to be quiet. I heard about a guy who was bothered by his neighbors about some building he wanted to do. It went to the zoning board as a result of complaints by his neighbors. He got a permit to put in a pig farm instead. And said that if they don´t back off, he will put in the pig farm. Worked like a charm. I would like to suggest for a New Year´s resolution..... take a day off once a week! Happy holidays.
