- We replaced a concrete driveway using time lapse video. The driveway is 6" thck of 4000psi concrete with stone base that was compacted.
We brought our concrete from a company named:
Delaware Valley Concrete
dvc-concrete.com/
We used all Marshaltown tools:
marshalltown.com/
We poured this job on a very hot day 92degrees
however we used 2% retarder.
For an estimate we can be reached at

After 32 years in the biz, I am amazed at all the experts in these comments.
I want to address many specific comments but they aren't worth anyone's time.
There are many different ways to pour concrete and all of them can be good and acceptable. Depending on the area of the country and climate and building codes.
I'm just surprised that actual concrete finishers are still in such high demand with all these "experts" I see commenting on this vid.
Good job. Good video. The best part of that house is now the driveway. It’s a nice upgrade and adds much value to the property.
I appreciate the music and visual work of this video. It relaxed me for some reason...
Glad to see a hard working brother as the General Contractor, Keep up the good work!
John Doe 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Did the contractor hire the whole neighborhood?
Great work. I'm sure your customer was completely satisfied.
V Chase thanks. We try to give our customers a dependable service! I appreciate the compliment sir.
let's see a picture of it today - especially want to see all the cracks...lol
Lmao yea, no rebar, a year, year and a half and it’s gone.
Really cool video. Thanks for sharing! I love the short intermissions with the sun.
Thanks for watching Fred, I am glad you enjoyed the video. Since its a long video, a mental intermission is needed.
Great job. You got a great group of hardworking men !
No rebar? Surely your not expecting the driveway to last for long? Over a short period off time I’m certain the concrete drive way would begin to give way? Correct or?
there is fiber in the concrete that help that way you don't have use rebar as much
4000 psi with fiber mesh? it will hold up just fine!
Wow...Highly impresses with this work...great time lapse video
No rebar no expansion joint no redwood to prevent cracking no diles to existing concrete this owner must be pissed off by now
Naw honey, it's still great.
They did the damn thing and made it look very easy
Thanks
well at least it didnt rain like it always does in the uk looks like a nice clean job to me
I didn’t like the trapezoid shape on the left side of the entry at the curb.
Why did it have such a narrow entrance?
City Specs.
fucking government so stupid
Great work. Getting to old myself to do the bent over screesding. I put handles on all my screeds. No bending over till the finish.
Hard work is good for you. Keep it up!
Ok. i noticed a few things during your video. 1. i think you might have over worked your guys during the demo phase. it might have gone a little faster if the skid steer scooped first then topped off by hand. 2. not once during the video did any of your guys look like they were frustrated or angry. lets face it tempers aways fly when doing hard work, your guys portrayed a very professional attitude. 3. every one of your guys kept busy doing what ever needed doing. And last but not least. your crew did some very nice work. thats what a job like that is supposed to look like. exactly how long did the job take, it looked like you got the whole thing done in just one day. you got a well trained and hard working crew. tell them great job.,
Of course u can't see their frustrations or Anger,,cause it's in Fast moving video ,,,DUH!!!!
Hey uncle love the time lapse.
Maxjamm Games thanks jordan. We work fast huh?
Man, these guys are awesome :)
No reinforcement bars? i bet it did not last long.
Never way to much help the more the better nice job
No, there are far to many people. It should be on in the skid loader and one with a shovel.
Por que no ponen varillas
I wonder if the reason they didnt expand the driveway's entrance was due to a city code, or because they lacked the funds for the expansion?
No rebar?
perdon por la pregunta y porque no le pusieron barilla o alambre
No re bar or wire.
Grant Beaty no need for it with fiber, and there was probably a code on the psi.,typicaly higher than 3000
@@justinjones1752 U do need rebar. All codes in my state require Rebar to be put in all driveways... This will fail in 3 yrs or less. And we use 4000 psi with mesh too.
@@scraplifetrashtocash4551 i bet it does not fail, and that must only be in your state only because its preference
it will be fine it’s 4000 psi with fiber mesh
Depends on weather, PSI, and fiber mesh.
i would of pulled the truck in saved lot of time labor lower bid . to start
The truck driver apologized for not bringing out enough chutes and gave us a discount. Good observation!
to each his own ive done a million wheel jobs that big or bigger. i was just observing. man then long gut tool joints gotta suck . we ually tool the sides and send one laborer back next day or few hours later saw cut a rip up the middle first time i did this i thought it looked like crap then as i worked it as a worked it was much much easier . but to each his own another company i worked for did it just as you showed and they had better work. overall.
what kind of mud if you dont mind me asking?
matt matney yes joints same day is a pain. This job was far from our shop and the customer was itching to pay us immediately. I always cut concrete but this time I did not.
matt matney I used 4000psi 5in slump, air, with fiber mesh 2% retarder, it was 92degrees
O just have one problem at the end where driveway meets the road you should have widen
out the drive just 3 more feet.
Rick Joneshy
The right-of-way property belongs to the Government not the homeowner. The homeowner cannot make any changes to that property without the Government ok. They probably wouldn't have given permission because of placement of utilities, i.e. Water Meter, Gas Line, Telephone and Cable lines, etc.
Fantastic job !
Looks great!! Now take off all that vinyl siding and replace it with wood or cement board.
Nice video driveway looks great
I know nothing about laying concrete. My father used to do it when he was still living. Why do you put the lines in the slab? Is it for looks or water drainage?
Big Dawg they are called control joints so if the concrete cracks, it cracks there
Is their any trans being represented here
one thing when you broomed the sidewalk it should of been broomed the opposite direction the same direction of your existing side walk
Mike Godziz thought I was the only one who noticed that.
Hello sir I love your video.i’m a home owner.i just got my house last year. I’m planning to put concrete at the back yard.its 30 ft length and 20 ft wide. 1.How many slopes from away from the house from point a to point b?
2.and how many concrete yards is 900 square feet.
Thank you
Nice work, guys.
It’s good to have help because being a hero put you throw stress and y not to much help he is a smart man who brings people and make them mony not like others working only 2 people they did a good job and every one is happy god blas
If this was in Europe we do add iron grid on the concrete to protect it from cracking and weight.
why humans load the loader???
stathis ouranitsas 😂😂 their hard workers they work with their backs and not their head
i lost faith to humanity that's it!
I actually was laughing loud watching them
Another comment says the driver lost his chutes so they couldn't drop it where it was needed
No re-bar... It will crack before too long.
Why wipe it out so many times tho?
What about the entrance?
Didn't need to jackhammer old concrete?? Pick it up with forks
Great job .
Excellent work.
The concrete truck should have aimed that shoot all the way. You should not have to use a wheel barrel.
How much dıd it cost?
Rio?
The approach its crooked
Nice job
what you did is illegal , you have to completely separate the driveway from the sidewalk with a expansion joint and not just make a small line off less than 1/2 inch deep
Adem Krasniqi that depends on the area you are in.
Adem Krasniqi quick, call the concrete police
After all that and you did not even put your initials And handprints in the new cement.
Whats up with everyone asking where the rebar is. My parents had their driveway done about ten years ago without rebar and not one crack in it.
and why the hard trowels burners on a exterior?
Much easier and faster to manipulate the concrete, tool is long and light weight. All the union finishers in Philly use this method too. In 40 years we had no issues with our concrete spalling of peeling from a quick trowel; Its only a 1st pass then a quick broom finish. Revisited jobs and all is still good from decades ago. Philly style!
why people do holes to this i mean doing squares? it looks afwul
Invest in a power screed and the proper tools you could save yourself the pay of about 3 of those helpers. Job that size should take no more than 3-4 guys with the right tools.
Beeez Neez
Stop hating on employment! If these guys aren't employed, you will have to pay to house and feed them through taxes. I am thankful that some employers put people before profit!
This could be done with 4 people if it was sof cut control joints but hand joints I rather have enough guys especially if it's hot outside and lose the finish.
Jeez I’m sure your neighbors would appreciate if you took care of your lawn
How do you cure? Why no wire mesh? Thx.
Nice
Where's the expansion joints? All, contraction joints. Also, they put the trowel on way to early. Traps moisture, causing it to flake the surface over time. Too much help
Looks ugly at the entrance.
I thought that video was bad ass!
Where is name song?
you mean the annoying " Fur Elise " by Beethoven ?
thanks
This job is all wrong for a drive way you always have to put 6 to 8 inches of baserock these dudes did this job the fast way that concrete will crack
All concrete crack even the concrete with control joints
I'm no pro but this driveway should of been wider near the entrance
All the work for nothing in less them a year the concrete is going to crack no rebar.
concrete is going to crack regardless if rebar is in it or not its the separation after cracking that they have no support to stop
All you guys watching this tell me where you from so i can get a job when im layed off...
my question is why are they wheel barrowing this shit. if ur gunna put a form on at the end than put it on at the end they should of just backed the truck in and shoot it out and than muck it out than bored it. way to many guys for a job that takes 2 people
Your tear out is rather obsolete. U need a medium sized excavator and back your tandom in. Casting as big of sized slabs that will fill in the dump body. Breaking the existing and loading like that is not as productive. Also never have truck on opposite side of street. Just asking for accident. But a power buggy. Leave three of your guys at home
How does this crowd even make money
@jason9022 owners on the job working with them.
Knew it was Philly .
No la arman. Mucha jente poco trabajo
Seems like a decent finish but they work way to hard for what they are doing. That’s a one day R&R. Homie on the bobcat should of done 95% of that prep by himself.
El mallazo,se lo a comido el lobo.
Why is there no rebar? Also where is your concrete pump? How come when I watch West Coast Concrete video's he has a concrete pump and isn't using wheel barrows? You have to invest in your business and buy equipment. That's the first thing you should know as a concrete contractor.
If you need to time lapse it, it’s not easy.
way to much help. me and one other man is all I need for a job this size.
arose460 i can imagine the mess you do
Yeah captain america? You better pay nicely.
I agree with you way to much help,we pour entire hotel floors with less people than that.
Thats probably a 3 man job tops.
Do Bo its what i do for a living guy.i shit you not we pour entire hotel floors with 5 guys.i build them all over florida.
The music doesn't suit the video
Steph On
Really!
6:58. The right side of the driveway , the line is crooked , not lined up to the existing walkway on the right side of the driveway. Ugly. And the end of the driveway looked sweet, but only 1 side? Looks ugly. Sorry but it does. And I’ve seen in the comments no rebar Used.
wow, 7 guys. the job must be expensive
Fuck no gravel really like a inch of gravel u could see dirt still
First time i see black people working. I bet it takes 3 black guys to do job of 1 person. Thats why they have so many people.
MC So Trumpian and racism at its peak I refuse to delete this comment, instead will frame it! I want to showcase real America whilst contrasting its glowing ideologies..
So can you 🎨 it green like pikaso after the job is done ✅ if you can then call me 🤙 yea great work
.
Nothing quick or easy about that.
Sorry but u guys need more experience
Too much guys for something that little, where's the profit???
dislike because you make dirty municipal road and unload gravel on the road - it make abrasive injuring for asphalt
That company must charge by the hour per man pitiful
Should have saved some grass
No rebar. Poor quality workmanship.
Whers the Steel? Probably still in China......😂
fuck driver tractor lasy ...omg
America Number One. Trump people very good. All jobs are done and nice. Supper work with all men. +1
GN GD sarcasm?
Tibbity
, No. I am not sarcasm my friend. I honestly like their work. Hard people work very good job to earn their money better than Gang and Drug dealer. Only thing I don't like in this video is Music place in the wrong time and wrong place.
GN GD Lol... you've never seen hard work then
Tibbity
, yes you right.
Amateur hour
You're a real pro, huh?
40% work 60% bla bla bla
How about everyone appreciate the great work this company did. Great job!
no rebar?
No rebar or wire for a driveway??? 🤔 that driveway won’t last 2 years
Naw honey, it'll be there for many years. You don't need rebar for a driveway, goofball.
You don't need rebar for a driveway
@@williardpienus8014 u need wired mesh only cheap as companies dont do it.
Short strand fiber is awesome.
It is 6 inches thick with good concrete and base you jackass
