i know this is 2 years old but this is why youtube is great. i’m looking to do this to my rs3 now and the perfect video is the first result. god bless the internet
Oh, BIG bummer for me on the mods to the lugs. Sounds like having the smaller brakes is also how you can get 16s on too. Thanks for the link anyway. Trying to find a drag tire and wheel setup for stock brakes and hubs.
For stock brakes, most go with a 245/40/18 Hoosier DR2 for the tires. For the wheels there are a ton of options out there, but Neuspeed, Superspeed and FastWheels all make cheap 18x8 ET35 wheels.
If I was just daily driving the car I would have used wobble bolts. Seeing as I am drag racing it though I felt more comfortable having the appropriate bolt pattern.
Was the spacer made in house or? If so do you remember the size needed? Have traklite 17x8 for my mk7 with 340mm fronts and 310mm rears. Fitment is mint. If I could keep the rims I will if I can downgrade the rs3 brakes like you did.
What components did you have to change for front and rear to fit them just the calipers rotors and brake pads or did you have to get the caliper carrier as well ? Looking to do this on my golf r
I never liked large rims on such a small car. It makes no sense and looks like a child wearing big shoes. Personally I think RS3s should've came with 16s. More rubber, improve comfort, and cheaper to rotate.

Glad I could be of assistance
Should hook up well now! Will be interesting to see how much better your 60ft will be. Looking forward to next vid👍
Can’t wait till you hit the track.
I'm headed out tonight! Video should be uploaded in a few days
Great, GL brotha! What’s your IG btw?

Sweet! Keep us posted on the difference in the 60’ and if you gain any mph with the less rotating weight etc! Thanks for sharing
Took them out for the first time last night actually. Watch for my next video I upload, it will be of the first night racing with them on!

Sickkkk, love it 💪🏽💪🏽
Thanks
Nice choice i hope your times go better
Thank you!
225..is wide enough tire for a 9 sec car?? 245 would of slowed you down? Love the way they install tires!! Protect your wheels
It would appear so!
Why you didn't use wobble bolt ?
If I was just daily driving the car I would have used wobble bolts. Seeing as I am drag racing it though I felt more comfortable having the appropriate bolt pattern.
Why didn’t you put mk5 or Mk6 Gti or Gli brakes instead? They spec out at 312mm and clear 16’s
Base MK7 Golf brakes are smaller and lighter at 288mm. If I want to go 15's in the future (which I probably will) I'll be able to fit those too.
Where the a3 rear and golf front calipers bolt on? Or did you have to fabricate an adapter bracket?
The rears bolted on. I think the fronts we needed a spacer

What’s the smallest rim you can go with if you wanted to keep the stock front and rear brakes? Btw, love the videos!
Thanks for watching! Some 18" wheels fit the stock calipers. If you shave down the stock calipers you can also fit some 17's.
Thanks Adam! #GetTheViews
What’s the offset
5x114 16x8 et 38?
I think 16x7 only has et43,45
16x7 et35 is perfect. These particular wheels are et30 though.
What components did you have to change for front and rear to fit them just the calipers rotors and brake pads or did you have to get the caliper carrier as well ? Looking to do this on my golf r
A spacer on the fronts I believe
Hey, if you don’t mind me asking did you do a drag alignment?
I did, yes
Do you think you can shoot me a DM with brake setup you have the on the rear, trying to run 16s on my TT RS.
I say at 0:45 and 4:36 the brakes that I put on the rear
Question why did you remove your brembo calipers?
To fit smaller and lighter wheels and tires on the car.
what is offset inset this enkei wheel 8j +38, 7j+43 , 7j+35 7j+30 ???
35
@@VancityAudi thank you .
How about non catalytic iroz downpipe??
Does it smell? Shold i use catalyst downpipe?
@@user-yi3gl6xs3i I don't mind it at all. If you are super sensitive to smell then go with the new Unitronic catted downpipe.
What brake pads are you running?
Stoptech
Front rear same size tire?? 225 50 16??
Yes
@@VancityAudi what is the center bore on these 57.1 or did you have to put in a hubcentric ring to spec?
@@bcruzin28 No Enkei's come in 57.1
