Hi boys, I'm just a fresh graduated sound engineer, I work with the DT 770 Pro 250 Ohms since 2 years now and it is real good product, very strong (compared to the Sennheiser HD25, which tend to break on the left ear, known problem), the frequency response is really flat, and it is really good for mixing, and sound taking on a field ! Comfortable, though it may feel heavy when you use it for hours, and make your ears feel hot (is it clear ?) pretty quickly.10/10 recommended ! Have a good day boys and Thanks Oliver for your work !
How hot? I tried them at my local Guitar Center and they were really comfortable and not heavy at all. I'm worry about the hot part that you mentioned (I tend to sweat a lot during the summer)Also, the ear pads on the Dt 990 pro are better than the 770.
Frequency response is flat? Are you kidding me? It is NOT flat by any means. Very little headphones can produce flat response, or anything even close to flat response.
As an Electrical Engineer I believe the reason why the higher impedance headphones tend to produce better sound is due to the fact that they are less susceptible to picking up noise from the environment which causes interference. You may have experienced a cheap pair of headphones before with poor shielding around its wires that leads to odd hums or pops if you leave the cable on top or near another electronic device that creates significant electromagnetic radiation. With higher impedance drivers it's easier to ensure that only the frequencies driven by your amp are getting to your ears and not other distortion form ambient sources of electromagnetic radiation. Edit: After a little research apparently the extra impedance is also a result of more turns of wire in the voice coils of the drivers which means that the drivers in the higher impedance models are actually more powerful.
Great review, very helpful and your description is accurate to how these sound. I bought these and a Schiit Modi/Magni combo to run them. Together with a good FLAC song, I see how audio experienced like this can make your eyes water. Great channel Oliver! Thanks for all your work! I just bought a MOTU M4 and was curious if you thought the 250 ohm would be driven enough with the M4’s advanced properties? Thanks for your time!
Rexor Magbutay I ended up getting the 80ohm version since the 250 were sold out for a couple months. My ears are pretty weakened after 30 years of gigs so I can’t honestly distinguish most upper tones anyway. Lol. The 80’s sound good to me and will be sufficient for my home studio needs. Hope all is well and be safe!
Abosultely nice way to get through 30 years, totally see no regrets there! Looks like the 250's were your first choice. Gonna get the 250's then. Appreciate it sir, thanks so much. And stay safe out there too!
thank you for putting them on, 5 videos above you and not a single person wore them lololol.. its kinda important to try them on to see how they look on people haha
Many people prefer the 80 ohms because the bass goes deeper, not more bass, just more range. And the treble on the 80s is just high enough but not overdone and painful like the 250 ohm. Normally the higher the ohm, the better. But not on the 770s. Good review of these though
Thanks for the review, very helpful. Thinking my tube amp could tame that brightness. And this would be a great companion with the HD6XX I have. Happy you mentioned the HD650 here and yes will be playing that Mountains track in first listen! Quick question, how long of a burn in do these cans need?
Hello. From previous watched videos (including yours lol!) I'm sold on the BeyerDynamic DT770 Headphones. I am a bit confused as to which is best for me overall. I don't wish to purchase two sets of headphones. I need one pair, for now, that will serve more than one purpose. I am a singer as well as a voice-over actress. My main desire for the headphones at this time is for voice over. But with some of my voice over opportunities, the character needs to be able to sing. Will the 250 ohms be ok if I don't have a mic amp? (I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT THAT IS LOL!)- but I do have an interface that's been in the box for 3 years that I'm now having to learn how to use. Forgive me, I'm still in the learning stage of all of these technical terms lol! I will be recording from a very acoustically dead closet and on my MacBook Pro most likely thru Twisted Wave or adobe audition. Haven't decided yet. I Can't find a video where someone really explains - to make the 32.80-or 250 ohms decision when it comes to voice over work because most are referencing mixing etc. I want to know if the 250 with an interface work perfectly. In one video I watched the gentleman stated that he didn't need a mic amp & that some people (his colleagues) says otherwise & that it was a 50/50 opinion. But his studio was mostly used for music recording. I also went to your site on the audition audio presets but didn't understand whatthe prices were for. I'll go back later to explore the site to see if I missed something. Sorry for the mini novel lol! I'm just ready to purchase these headphones. Thanks for posting the video & I look forward to your reply.
Hello! I’m also a voice over artist and singer looking for good studio headphones. Sorry that nobody answered your little novel :) But may be you have already bought something and now can share your experience? Thank you;)
Ксения Ким hello. I purchased the Beyerdynamic 250’s. I can only tell you that they ate extremely comfortable. I haven’t used them yet bcuz you need to use them through an interface bcuz of its power. My interface software isn’t compatible with my new Mac Air computer software :-( So I have to purchase a different interface- which I haven’t done yet. I’ll do my best to remember to give an update review when I get my new interface.
Hello Oliver, very insightful review. For vinyl record listening enjoyment, which cans would you suggest under $200 USD ? Sibilance is unfortunately common on vintage vinyl via mediocre cart's (IE. 2M Red), and thus I would prefer less analytical cans, but with decent kick, transparent mids, constrained fatiguing highs. Cheers !
So I've been mixing with M50x's for about a year, and get really bad ear fatigue from how harsh the high end is, they just broke and I ordered 770pro's to switch it up a bit, and now I'm questioning it because you said that the high end on these are higher than the m50x's which was already giving me bad ear fatigue. Now I'm nervous lol. Most of what I've read online said that the m50x's have way crispier harsher high end. I'm not sure what to believe. I guess I'm going to just have to try them
@@OliverJHughes Had them for a few days now, so far so never going back. LOL My mixes have even improved and are translating way better almost immediately. High end definitely crispy maybe about the same as M50x's but with more clarity, and overall sound is more balanced and less muddy than the M50x's. Listening through some FLAC files the first time was exactly as you described. Chills! Definitely worth the switch! NEVER going back.
Loved the review, am no seriously considering these phones. Do I need a headphone amp? Am running out of an Apple iMac? Would appreciate your feedback (as long as it's "ditch the iMac and buy a PC" LOL
nice review man really enjoying your content man. Also I will like to see if you can make in how to noise reduction for voice overs in Izotope RX 6 and some eq after the noise reduction. Thanks :)
I bought these headphones along with a focusrite 6i6 on sale here in Sweden. about a month ago. Love them. I'm probably the first today. The time is 24:00 here in Sweden. Have a nice day. Gabriel
Thank you for the value! I have no sound coming from my left speaker, all the wires seem good and still soldered. Should I replace something? any idea on what could solve my issue?
Dude. I’ve been watching a ton of tech videos and found your channel yesterday. Love your stuff! I watched your Nura vid and then peeped this one when you said these mofos did the trick. Which you think I should get? My top are Nura, Beyer (cuz of you), and Sony Xm3
What up Lando! Here’s the deal, the pros and cons are pretty varied between those three - first of all, beyerdynamic isn’t Bluetooth, or noise cancelling, and doesn’t have a big low end. So consider that- those are probably not good on the go cans, but GREAT for listening at home or mixing. XM3s are the worlds best noise cancelling. Just phenomenal. Also, light and comfy. Don’t sound too great though. And of course the nuras are really heavy, feel odd, but sound just phenomenal. So damn good. Huge bass, etc... On the go? Travel? I’d go Sony At home with accurate sound? Beyerdynamic A tech forward unique experience with outstanding bass? For both on the go and home? Nura
Oliver what would you recommend with similar amount of bass and such pleasant highs like in ATH-m50x but with better/wider soundstage? DT770 pro would be the best but I mainly listen/produce modern electronic music, so highs might be unpleasant for me.
Sorry for all the questions, but here they come.. Will I be able to use these 250 Ohm versions without an amp and external DAC? Or will I be wasting my money? If I do need an amp/dac, which do you recommend?
You WILL be able to use them, but your output drive will be limited. If you're just listening to music with them, you should be fine, but any mixing you'll want an amp (or an Audio Interface/DAC, my Apollo Twin is able to drive them just fine) I recommend Universal Audio Apollo, aways, but if you have a budget less than that, check out Focusrite
if you are really looking to use them without a DAC you should buy the 32ohms dt770. or get the 250ohms and any decent DAC. i like the quality and design of S.M.S.L PRODUCTS. i own a smsl ad-18 DAC and its good for the prices and features.
I use a Focusrite Scarlett 6i6 interface with my PC and the output for the 250 Ohm was a little quiet so I bought a cheap Chinese valve headphone amp (Sabaj PHA3) for about £40 from Amazon and it adds a tiny bit of warmth, but more importantly gives the signal enough kick to drive the headphones with sufficient volume.
How much of an upgrade do you think a pair of dt880 600 ohm will be over the dt770 pro 80 ohm, neutral and accuracy wise? And for pure music listening in general?
hey great review! I've currently got the ath-m50x's that i use to listen to FLAC music and gaming mostly. Do you think these and a DAC would be a good upgrade?
For the price I think you would. Higher Ompidence means more detail. I have a HD650 seheishers and as good as they sound on high volume levels they have a little pop effect when the bass comes too loud so I gotta be careful on my portable amp, I use the IDSD black label Ifi amp which is the most powerful portable amp. Curious if anyone knows do theses headphones the one that the video is about are the bass a big difference then the m50x? Am looking for a pair of headphones that really make the bass guitar shine
i'm gunna have to get an amplifier. I have the DT 770 Pro 80 ohm and I feel like THOSE are hard to drive to their full potential. I have had them for 5 years and LOVE them. I use a focusrite scarlett interface with them mostly. ... The 250's must be insane! what Amp would be a good value in your opinion?
Hey man, love it and I use the 250s every single day. Tied for my favorite pair of headphones! So, I’m also new to headphone amps and the only ones I own are the Rubert Neve RNHP. I love it so much.
Hey Oliver, thanks for this, I have a question I am hoping you can answer. I recently bought the 770 Pro 250 ohms and I have a KA6 audio interface. The volume wasn't loud enough for me with this setup, so I bought a PreSonus HP4 amplifier, which sorted the volume issue out, but now I have lost the feature of direct monitoring (without latency) that the KA6 provides when recording through a mic into Ableton. What do you think is the solution for this? Is there an audio interface I can switch to that gives me both the amplifying + the direct monitoring feature in one piece of gear?
Hey man just a heads up to add this to the statement: 'If you don't have a headphone amp'... needs to add '...or an external soundcard or decent motherboard' because soundcards and gaming motherboards cater to higher (
I’m really confused about the different impedance. I get that you need more power as you go up the scale, but why does it sound different? For example, if you have each model running at the same audio level why will they all sound different?
I'm looking for headphones to produce electronic music Which one do u think will be better? Cuz I head m50x has a better bass response which matters a lot to the kind of music I'm into
I know these aren't exactly small cans, but I sort of want to buy the DT 770 250 Ohm but carry it aroud with my laptop. Any thoughts on a good portable DAC/Amp to power these?
I'm planning to purchase DT 770 pro but I'm confused between the 80ohms and 250 ohms versions. Can someone suggest me which one should I purchase? I'm a beatmaker and do some Mixing too.
I use the Neve RNHP - and it's amazing (but $500). For anything less than $200, I would go with this guy: (amzn.to/2Y8nB4o). I've heard it's REALLY good for being only $120!
Awesome review man... Would you recommend these for regular listening? I’m not really an audiophile or anything, just looking for some high quality headphones ahah. And do you think an iPod touch would run 80ohm headphones with good quality?
Good night, incredible your video, excuse my English but I'm using the translator, I have a presonus 22vsl interface, the impedance in the headphone output is 50 ohms, but I connect the output to an Alesis mixer that has Headphone Output: 75 ohm output impedance > 105mW into 75 ohms,> 40mW into 600ohms Do you think that is sufficient for the 250 ohm dt770 or should I buy an additional headphone amplifier?
For mixing and mastering. the right way AND TO GET ACCURATE AND DETAILED...... it's with the open back version The BeyerDynamic DT990 250 Ohm Version or event better the 600 Ohm Version
Do you know If a Topping NX4 can blast DT770 250ohm? I heard them once with just my phone, volume was somewhat low but I don't think these require something big to blast them....
You can drive them with a decent DAC (I have a scarlett 2i2) and you will only suffer while doing live monitoring... On mixing and audio listening (even in games) it's enough. Cheers.
Helo there, it's your new fan here. I'm very interested in music. I need to know your opinion about nura headphones, are they really beautiful? Or what about comparison, abaut beyer DT990 pro and DT 770pro? Thank you
The higher the impedance, the less resistance there is. And therefore an amp is required to pwoer them. It's like using 16ohm tower speakers on a cheap pyramid amp versus 4ohm spkrs with a Krell or McIntosh. 32ohm cans have alot of resistance and therefore little iphones can drive them. A 250ohm set of cans requires more mW cause they have less resistance and are thirsty for pwr. Therefore the thirstier the cans, the better sound they will project. There's no replacement for impedance displacement !
You've got it backwards. Impedance is the AC equivalent to resistance. For DC circuits, impedance is the same as resistance. So roughly speaking high impedance is the same as high resistance. A high resistance means you need a higher voltage to put the same amount of current through a wire. Amps are limited in both their maximum voltage and current output. For high impedance headphones you are more likely to run into the voltage limit and for extremely low impendance headphones you are more likely to run into the current limit.
hey guys ! just a quick question, i'm thinking of buying either the 250 or the 600 ohm , i don't have an ext amp, but my PC has a good sound card with a built in headphone amp going to 600 ohms and a 116db SNL , it's the ASUS STRIX soar 7.1 , most headphones plugged in sound really loud , i had a friend trying his 230$ beats on it and they blew his ear off, he had never heard them sound like that, anyway would that be good or do i need an ext amp ?
If a musician is using these to mix audio want he be less likely to leave in harsh high sounds due to the headphone highlighting them? I thought that was the point of monitoring
Hi, great review. I also have the Apollo Twin and want t buy the DT770 250ohms. Do I need a phone pre amp? I thought the Apollo allowed you to use headphones without pre amp.
So I bought the DT770 250 ohm... and I was not fine! Too little power. With the Apollo full volume, so no headroom, it was just 'ok'. So maybe I should get me the 80ohm?
Dang sorry to hear that! Yeah I run mine through a Neve RNHP headphone amp for that very reason - but with my apollo, unless I'm mixing, I can get them to a really nice loudness. Do you do mix stuff where the gain is really low? Sorry for the bad recommendation! I don't know how the 80 ohm version sounds - I'm sure it's great, but I've never heard them.
yes the impedance is not the quality benchmark 😁 It may help to get better (lower) THD values and overall dynamics with higher impedance though. Sennheisers are 300ohm but have higher sensitivity, so may be even easier to drive than DT770Pros 250ohm that have 96db sensitivity, which is bit less than lets say senns. So to get most out of Beyers you need good headphone amp otherwise you won't really know what they are capable of...
I bought my DT770Pro 250ohm from sonarworks store with their individual calibration to get the most balanced, neutral reference sound for music production, mixing and mastering.
@@OliverJHughes Ordered them last week so still waiting to get them but I will let you know what's the difference between with and without individual calibration. It was huge discount there on some of their calibrated headphones so I coudn't resist... :D Basically I would pay more for individual correction of my DT880 Pros than I paid for new pair of DT770 Pro with individual correction profile included!
The music for the movie you talked about did not come on my view of this video, in fact, I didnt hear anything; it's as if it was muted in that section (I dont know if you meant to put the video in there just as a point of reference or if you had the music in there and it just doesnt play).
Yeah I think Warner Brothers has sophisticated algorithmic detection - and they straight up muted that part only! It was bizarre when I discovered it was silent!
@@OliverJHughes definitely weird. Thanks for the reply back. I'll check out the music, though. I suppose you would need a license to have copy written music on your videos; Probably not worth the investment for what you do. Peace.
Hey Oliver, this was sick. Cheers! Question for you though. Been doing research on a good pair of headphones for travel. A lot of the noise cancelling looks cool, but I’m not convinced. I want to purest sound I can get. These obviously do pretty well with that. But do you think they will be alright with travel?
Ha, I just responded to your comment on the Sennheiser 380 pro video! These cans have a lot more clarity than the 380s, with a similar amount of sound dampening (just blocking of sound because the cans are well padded). So if you wanted a better sound, I would go with the DT770 Pros 32ohm version. A bit more expensive than the 380s but so so worth it!
Thanks much for the reply. I think I deleted my comment by mistake. So that’s a sound option right - double amping? Is that what you have done. What about connecting to to the Mac’s headphone out. P.S. My Focusrite has only one line out and it goes to a monitoring speaker.
Haha no worries! Yeah you can absolutely use the headphone out from the scarlet, you’ll just have to make sure your headphone output volume is dialed in
@@OliverJHughes Thanks man. It’s really good to hear this from someone who has actually done it and is not getting all technical. I was planning on giving up everything and getting a degree in electrical engineering. :) Last question. It would typically be a TRS to RCA cable right.
I like yoiur review but this video is so hard to listen to your backround music is either too dynamic or too loud but at times it feels like your yelling over your music
@@xxdalionxx DAMN, well you are probably getting clear sound! Sorry you heard a bad mix - I do tend to mix w/ louder music, but I don't hear any issues in this one. Thanks again!
Can i actually use the 250ohm version directly to my rode nt usb mic? i iam afraid it cant handle it. And i have also an powerfull omen by hp gaming pc so i really like to know what is required to use the 250ohm properly
Yo!! I assume the output from the NT USB is similar to a computer - and therefore it would be a lower signal on the 250 ohm version. As far as your gaming PC, do you mean you have a high-impedance headphone? Or high- impedance output?
They are pretty good for reducing outside noise. I use them for guitar and bass and I find they work really well. Whilst my brother has the 80ohm ones for drumming, he has tried my pro ones and has found them really good for drumming.
www.custompcreview.com/reviews/creative-sound-blaster-z-pcie-sound-card-review/ check up the sound card, no problem with that, recommend to use the headphone without any sound effect, great for gaming even listen to your own music at the sametime. but i am using a DAC with build in headphone amp connect with USB audio out from PC.
YES! For a really neutral mix environment, open back is the way to go - but if you are upgrading from something inferior, the DT770s will be wonderful.
So what does that mean to you nothing lmao 😂 good review buddy I’m new to these headsets that need amps to push them can you please do one on an amp with a good price that can push these thanks 🙏🏻 I’m a new subscriber
I have the 250 ohms plugged straight into Focusrite scarlett 8i6 and they sound terrible. Even professional songs I normally think sound amazing, sound like harsh, high frequency garbage that literally hurts my ears. When I record multiple vocal tracks or instruments I can barely hear anything..just noise mostly. So what gives? Do I need some special headphone amp to makes these function properly?
Right... haha! That depends on what is driving them. What kind of interface do you use? If its UAD you're probably fine. Something cheaper - hard to say.
@@OliverJHughes i dont have UAD. I would play from my laptop. I am having a hard time deciding between this(maybe 80ohms), Sennheiser HD-380, and ATH M50X. I am not a musician, but my ears are sensitive to music.
@@Ali-lm7uw In that case I would for say just pick one, they are both great! The 380s are a bit more flat in frequency response, but you can't go wrong either way.

@@daughterofletha4 can u do an update heheh? C;
I guess I'm going to just have to try them
Let me know what you think! The highs have chilled out on mine since they’re pretty well burned in
@@OliverJHughes Had them for a few days now, so far so never going back. LOL
My mixes have even improved and are translating way better almost immediately.

Love it! 🙏🏻
Great video & channel sir! Subbed 👌
Thanks man!! Appreciate it!
On the go? Travel? I’d go Sony
At home with accurate sound? Beyerdynamic
A tech forward unique experience with outstanding bass? For both on the go and home? Nura
Thanks for hitting me back man. That answer was super helpful. I’m in Japan traveling around so I think I’ll slap on the Xm3. Tyty.
Oliver what would you recommend with similar amount of bass and such pleasant highs like in ATH-m50x but with better/wider soundstage? DT770 pro would be the best but I mainly listen/produce modern electronic music, so highs might be unpleasant for me.
dt 770 pro + sonarworks
Will these work OK with my Galaxy Note 20 and ifi Hip Dac ???. Great review, thanks !!
Sorry for all the questions, but here they come..
Will I be able to use these 250 Ohm versions without an amp and external DAC? Or will I be wasting my money?
If I do need an amp/dac, which do you recommend?
You WILL be able to use them, but your output drive will be limited. If you're just listening to music with them, you should be fine, but any mixing you'll want an amp (or an Audio Interface/DAC, my Apollo Twin is able to drive them just fine)
I recommend Universal Audio Apollo, aways, but if you have a budget less than that, check out Focusrite
if you are really looking to use them without a DAC you should buy the 32ohms dt770. or get the 250ohms and any decent DAC. i like the quality and design of S.M.S.L PRODUCTS. i own a smsl ad-18 DAC and its good for the prices and features.
@@ClanRTQC Thanks! I'm currently looking into DACs and Amplifiers. I'm eyeing up the O2 + ODAC combo. I will take a look at recommendation.
@@OliverJHughes why do i need an amp if i want to mix with it?
Is there an obvious difference for the different impedance version? I'm thinking of getting one to simply plug in to my phone on the go
The general consensus is the 80 ohms are the most distinct - and the 32 and 250 are daily similar. I’d go 32 for listening on the go
👍 OMG!!! Yes !! 👊👊 Finaly I found you that Loves this DT770 Headphones and has a great view of this I agree with you 100% I Love this Headphones!!
Great video, do you have to have an headphone amp?
Yes! Beyers are very clear
A wonderful upgrade. So much more detail than the M50Xs in my opinion.
@@OliverJHughes Thanks for the reply. I've already ordered them from amazon ;)
Ok.. I am going to check them out.
i'm gunna have to get an amplifier.
Oliver J Hughes I have Apogee One and DT 770 Pro. They sound amazing with it.
Hi this is Deepak beyerdynamic 770 pro 250 ohm is this good for masting and mixing?
Should I choose dt770 pro or m50x for just listening music
Hey man just a heads up to add this to the statement: 'If you don't have a headphone amp'... needs to add '...or an external soundcard or decent motherboard' because soundcards and gaming motherboards cater to higher (
where u buy the headphone stand of the thumbnail?
I’m really confused about the different impedance. I get that you need more power as you go up the scale, but why does it sound different? For example, if you have each model running at the same audio level why will they all sound different?
I'm looking for headphones to produce electronic music
Which one do u think will be better?
Cuz I head m50x has a better bass response which matters a lot to the kind of music I'm into
I know these aren't exactly small cans, but I sort of want to buy the DT 770 250 Ohm but carry it aroud with my laptop. Any thoughts on a good portable DAC/Amp to power these?
I'm planning to purchase DT 770 pro but I'm confused between the 80ohms and 250 ohms versions. Can someone suggest me which one should I purchase? I'm a beatmaker and do some Mixing too.
i have hyperx cloud2/pro 80, is dt770 pro worth the buy? is the difference big enough for me to buy it.
What headphone amp is it you use ? Is there one out there for under £200? If not I’ll stick with the 80ohm. Thnx
I use the Neve RNHP - and it's amazing (but $500). For anything less than $200, I would go with this guy: (amzn.to/2Y8nB4o). I've heard it's REALLY good for being only $120!
Roxanne Oak the JDS Atom is incredible at $100. Better than 99% of amps under $500.
Awesome review man... Would you recommend these for regular listening? I’m not really an audiophile or anything, just looking for some high quality headphones ahah. And do you think an iPod touch would run 80ohm headphones with good quality?
YES they are so great for listening. You should be okay with the 80ohm, you'd be better off with the 32ohm version.
@@OliverJHughes it the 80ohm worth getting for gaming or should i just save up more for the 250ohm and buy an amp withit
Great video! Do you know if I need an amplifier for the 250 Ohms if I have an Apogee duet 2?
Good night, incredible your video, excuse my English but I'm using the translator, I have a presonus 22vsl interface, the impedance in the headphone output is 50 ohms, but I connect the output to an Alesis mixer that has Headphone Output: 75 ohm output impedance > 105mW into 75 ohms,> 40mW into 600ohms
Do you think that is sufficient for the 250 ohm dt770 or should I buy an additional headphone amplifier?
40mW into 600ohms means it can drive headphones up to 600ohms, you'll be good with 250ohms headphones on it.
For mixing and mastering. the right way AND TO GET ACCURATE AND DETAILED...... it's with the open back version The BeyerDynamic DT990 250 Ohm Version or event better the 600 Ohm Version

You don't need it if the audio signal coming from the audio interface is satisfactory.
Audient ID14 is the audio interface that you looking for!
You can drive them with a decent DAC (I have a scarlett 2i2) and you will only suffer while doing live monitoring... On mixing and audio listening (even in games) it's enough. Cheers.
So you need an amp for it? or you can just plug it in a pc?
it's not just impedance, u need to take driver sensitivity into consideration too
Great point!

@@OliverJHughes great! Can't hardly wait
the only difference is that ones open back (990) and the others closed back (770)
Would the 250 ohm work with Audient iD4 MKII USB-C Audio Interface?
Oliver bruh..80 vs 250 ohm for casual edit ...Your take?
hey guys ! just a quick question, i'm thinking of buying either the 250 or the 600 ohm , i don't have an ext amp, but my PC has a good sound card with a built in headphone amp going to 600 ohms and a 116db SNL , it's the ASUS STRIX soar 7.1 , most headphones plugged in sound really loud , i had a friend trying his 230$ beats on it and they blew his ear off, he had never heard them sound like that, anyway would that be good or do i need an ext amp ?
If a musician is using these to mix audio want he be less likely to leave in harsh high sounds due to the headphone highlighting them? I thought that was the point of monitoring
where did you get your headphone stand ?
B&H, I believe it was this one: www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1334341-REG/auray_hpds_b_headphone_desktop_stand_black.html
How’s the sub bass?Apparently it’s really basso.
Hi, great review. I also have the Apollo Twin and want t buy the DT770 250ohms. Do I need a phone pre amp? I thought the Apollo allowed you to use headphones without pre amp.
You'll be fine. The Apollo can drive them really well.
@@OliverJHughes does this mean i will have the same problem if i buy the 250 with my focusrite scarlett solo?
yes the impedance is not the quality benchmark 😁
It may help to get better (lower) THD values and overall dynamics with higher impedance though.

80ohms is usually for smartphones or ipads or onboard soundcards. 250 ohms is for a good external soundcard or pre-amp :)
How is the noise cancellation? I want to use these for drumming
They are pretty good for reducing outside noise. I use them for guitar and bass and I find they work really well. Whilst my brother has the 80ohm ones for drumming, he has tried my pro ones and has found them really good for drumming.
