Great review! I can’t wait to try this... the original Interlude was too strong for me to wear comfortably as generally I prefer smoother, sweeter and less herbal/aromatic scents- like Jubilation 25, my favourite Amouage. So the new Interlude Black Iris with its toned down herbal notes and added smoothness from the orris sound much more to my taste! Have a great week 👍
As a newbie, i just tried a sample of this and...wow. This is a beast. Anyone who wants to try this better be prepared, cause this is really strong and potent. Not for the faint of heart for sure

Chris, I got to ask you if you’ve reviewed Amouage Fate Man? I find Fate Man to be uniquely phenomenal. It doesn’t seem to get much love from reviewers, but find the opening awesome. Interlude Black Iris was my first Amouage purchase and I love it! Love your channel, especially when you have Aaron Terrence Hughes on.

Thank you, that was the best, most detailed review I've seen so far on this perfume. I didn't enjoy the original because of the sweetness I found a little overbearing. I'll grab a bottle of this, since I love orris. Cheers!
The opening is a bit sweet and medicinal on my skin, but 10-15 mins later that sweetness begins to take a minor role and the depth of the fragrance begins its superb dry down.
Do you know what , I’m pretty sure I’ve not even smelled the original?😮😮heard loads about it but never got round to actually sampling it (must be the only guy in fragcomm who hasn’t) 🤔🤔

Just got to smell this yesterday and yes, It's beautiful, sophisticated and classy. Iris can personally scare me, and not that many things do, but, hate those trendy powder smells.

Well i love the original my first ever neiche fragerance and my favorite house i will buy a sample hopefully i will like it hopefully it will still be powerful in colder months since it wont be brash .
I love the original interlude man it was a love from first sniff
I am really apprehensive about this black iris release but I own everything amouage has released with the exception of a few from the library collection so I feel almost compell to buy this
I just don't see how it will not be either redundant or a dissapointing let down
I don't see myself liking it more than the original
And I also worry amouage will start doing flankers to other staples from their collection if this one is successful and I don't want that
But I also don't want it to be flop and ruin the brand reputation

I had decided to pick the beast(Interlude Black Iris) Instead, I opted for the beast slayer(Epic). I'm sure each one has a different preference, but a guy with no nose would agree that Epic is better than Interlude Black Iris.
I reckon its worth buying, but advise waiting till it hits discounters.
I bought black iris a few days ago , it is definitely high-end and expertly blended but I think it is only for a certain occasion even then its over the top im not really sure how I feel about it. Have never experienced a fragrance like it am I glad I bought it I am really unsure at the moment
I thought the same at first. I sprayed on my hand and thought it was too much. But when I did a full wearing only on the sides of the neck, it clicked for me. It is too intense up close on the hand, but it is amazing in the air
the original interlude is WAY more potent so it's probably good that you got that version
"Hesperidic" counter - 16 to date. 😂 Kidding. It's probably more. 🤣 A 2m bubble is huge though isn't it? 2 arm lengths+? Bottle colours are amazing. A very decent comparison Chris!

How does the orris root note compare to reflection man as I know that contains orris root also
I'd say it's more prominent than in RM
I would like to try Amouage but I live in America (Ohio) and I don't know of any stores that sell it! Which of all of them is the best? I have heard that it is a dogfight between Reflection Man and Jubilation XXV? I don't want to buy both because the are very expensive! I don't like blind buying expensive cologne because I have gotten burned a couple of times!

@@MrJacks1959 I wound up doing that and only liked Reflection Man but in the opening,it had a medical first aid kit smell that I didn’t like , so I didn’t buy it either!
Not a good scent for me, I got headache on my first sniff😢
If i dont own any of the Interlude, which one would you recommend? When i tried interlude the first time, it smelled like put out bonfire, was so smoky. Maybe its something you get used to with time
I recommend you to try 'Epic' by Amouage. You may drop the idea of choosing Interlude. 😊
